The Commission on Presidential Debates has vowed to change the format of the next candidate clash after Tuesday's debate was called a 'national embarrassment' by Joe Biden but an unrepentant Donald Trump said it was 'fun.'The chaotic 90 minute debate, where the president repeatedly interrupted his Democratic rival and moderator Chris Wallace, was dubbed a 's*** show' and 'dumpster fire' by pundits. In the aftermath, critics demanded changes to the format, with some saying it was the worst presidential debate in history. Wallace was faulted for not being able to control the unruly president, who would not stop talking.

It wasn't the format. It was Chris Wallace that was the problem. It was stupid to choose him as a moderator. Hasn't the debate commission ever watched Chris Wallace?

Issue a cattle prod to the next moderator, or get a kindergarten teacher to keep order.

Isn't that what tapper of cnn referred to it as a "dumpster fire". mike wallace's offspring is worthless. Rush called him a "never Trumper" which is exactly what he is. I am so sick of our Presdient being used as a punching bag for these worthless anuses. looked like china joe was being prompted when he was writing notes during this catastrophe. hillary tried the earpiece thing, too so, why not china joe.

Someone suggested having a kill switch on the mikes (that is, Trump's mike) so they can shut him up if needed.
I'd refuse, if I were Trump. The moderators won't ask the tough questions, so Trump has to bring them up himself. I'd get rude, too, if some hack, who was supposed to be "Fair and balanced" kept jumping in front of my opponent like a loyal meat shield. Wallace shou;d't be in journalism, but then again, he's in good company, isn't he?

Yeah, right. Trump's going to let them tie his hands and tape his mouth so he can debate "according to proper decorum". What part of "saving the country from a Socialist coup" do you people still not understand? Try telling Elon Musk to follow the SEC's "proper" guidelines for Twitter use.

Biden thinks it is bad because everyone saw that he needed help from Wallace.

Hilarious! Changing the rules because of President Trump? Love it!
The best result of last evenings debate is that Crissy "little dweeb" Wallace is now almost universally being described as the worst ever Presidential debate moderator. I hope this reputation sticks. I've watched Crissy interview President Trump several times. Crissy always has a chip on his shoulder, clearly shows his disdain, and - without success - tries to coyly put the President down in petty ways and with cheap shots. Crissy's tricks do not begin to phase Donald Trump as the President is on to Crissy. It's always an unfair fight. Folks ask: "Why does the President go to FOX News to be interviewed by Matthews?" My answer: The President considers the large number of viewers (usually good exposure); the President gets to make his points and, in spite of Crissy's best efforts, Crissy never lays a glove on the President. Although not intended by the President, as a result of last evening's debate, Crissy Matthews is "collateral damage."

The Debate Commission (whoever that is) should simply ask the Debate Coach from someplace like Texas A&M to be the moderator. I rather thought the spirited debate showed America who and what Joke Biden really is. A shallow professional politician with grand delusions and petty, spiteful attitude. Any formal debate would have disqualified Biden for calling his opponent names and telling him to shut up. Extremely rude, but probably explains why Biteme graduated at the bottom of his class in college and law school.

If Slow Joe can't handle New York City ( Yes I think Trump and his buddies are annoying) then HOW is he going to handle Iran, Putin, China, or for that matter Canada ?

They didn't like it that even by double teaming Trump, their side lost. Soooooo, do what Dems do when they lose - change the rules.

Why won't Donald Trump just sit there and let Joe Biden laugh right in his face throughout the debate the way Laughing Joe did to Paul Ryan in the vice presidential debate? It's SO unfair.

So...one candidate 'breaks' the rules. What are they gonna do? Turn off the debates? Oh, penalize with less time? This is US politics, Electoral politics. It has always been bare knuckles and a fight. Make the rules and watch these two break them. And huff and puff like the big bad wolf at a brick house. The 'rule' changes will have nothing to do with civility. It is ony to deny Trump a chance to get his message out.

Per usual the DM got it wrong. Biden was attacking the President personally and President Trump did not let him get away with that. Of course he rebutted that trash talk. At least the President attempted to talk about policy and the went after the policy of corruption that was the last administration - i.e Hunter Biden, the Russia coup etc.
