Actually, The Debate Was About Issues

I know. A lot of folks are saying the debate was an ugly, insult-filled shouting match that barely got down to cases. Actually, I thought it was a highly entertaining exchange that helpfully spotlighted the candidates’ differences on issues. An ugly, angry exchange? Well, at least it looked like America. (Snip)
Some say the shouting match must have put off persuadable voters in the middle. I have a different take. Voters who haven’t decided yet aren’t likely waiting for a nuanced policy debate. If they were, they’d have already made up their minds. Instead, undecideds haven’t yet focused as much on the issues as we political junkies have.

From Mark Wauck:
That observation about Trump having the "guts" to tackle sensitive issues directly apparently resonated with Spanish speaking viewers of the Left wing Telemundo--in a Twitter poll they saw Trump as winning by a 2-1 margin. As others have observed, Trump "dominated". He was the Alpha to Biden's Beta. If you prefer a Beta as president, maybe you didn't like that. However, a lot of people, on reflection, can see the need for an Alpha as president. A Beta president would be sure to plunge the country into this type of turmoil:
@shipwreckedcrew
There is ZERO intention for Biden to be POTUS for 4 years. He might remain in office if he wins, but a "Biden Administration" will be run by whoever is named Chief of Staff. It will be run like a Parlimentary Gov't. The Executive will effectively be the Legis. leadership.

The level of blatant and unconstrained corruption that Joe Biden participated in as Vice President has been completely covered up by forces that defy comprehension. The fact that this so called "debate" did nothing to challenge him on his lifelong career of graft and influence peddling to enrich his family is damning evidence of the complete fakeness and worthlessness of this quadrennially contrived circus.
If Joe Biden is elected he will be even bolder in his corrupt ambitions knowing that the MSM and DOJ have his back and the citizens of our country will get the government they deserve.

This election is the President's to lose.
Hopefully his team is reviewing film to show him that he needs to tighten up.
When Biden is veering off into incoherent nitwittery DON'T INTERUPT HIM!
President Trump knows, as does his team and the voting American public already know that these debates are rigged.
Don't fight against that fact President Trump, go around it with all that Trumpian charm and brilliance.
You did it once, you can do it again.

Every time Gropey Joe spoke, I felt the long chill fingers of Government walking in my front door.
Boy, does he believe in Government!
Got a problem? Government fixes.
Need anything: Government will pass a bill.
COVID-19? Government plan. Panel of experts.
Failing small business: Government support.
What we need is a good Five-Year Plan.
Then we will be prepared for anything.
Of course he is unable to point attention to anything Government has ever done for anyone. Government did not give us electricity. Government did not give us railroads. Government did not give us automobiles (except electric ones). What has Government ever done, except break up families and destroy inner cities? What has Government done about riots, looting, fires, and murder? Nothing.
And that is what you get with Biden. NOTHING.

Two bits of advice I'd give President Trump for the next show ... although he's done pretty good without my advice so far.
Spend some time looking into the camera, talking to the American people. You do it well at rallies, make it work for you in this setting. A smile once in awhile wouldn't hurt.
When Sleepy Uncle Joe is rambling incoherently, let him. Shut up and let him dig his own grave. Then kick the dirt on top of it.
As bad as Chris Wallace was in this debate, he's the closest thing the President will come to a "fair" moderator in the remaining debates. C-SPAN political editor Steve Scully will moderate the second presidential debate in Miami, while NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker has been chosen as the moderator for the third debate in Nashville. (USA Today's Susan Page gets the Veep honors).

The "debate" was about Kris Wallass setting up Trump with gotcha questions and playing T-ball with Ole Joe.
Ole Joe struck out swinging and Trump laid down a Grand Slam.

Have you ever been in a store when a loud and angry customer is complaining to the checker? You have no idea whether the customer is right and you frankly don’t care. You just want him to stop. Anger overwhelms content, which is why it is employed by bullies, especially on the left. Third parties feel no empathy or connection with the loud customer. And that is the point. The base has reconciled itself to siding him even when he does not deserve it. Independents may want him to leave the sr

As cited in #1, i agree. Biden would be a figurehead. A pale, weak, slightly deranged figurehead, with the Bernie &Co collection of tsars, like BO had. They'll render Congress a rump, the SJC, an archaism, effete and only a sad reminder of what once was.

Here's one way to look at things. Think of the clips of the activities going on in the streets of the big Democrat cities, e.g., New York City, Minneapolis, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Portland, Washington, DC, etc. Biden's supporters are rude, violent, even murderous. And Trump knows who these people are. Trump's supporters, on the other hand, are either absent or sitting quietly at an outdoor restaurant trying to have dinner. Can we really expect Trump to debate Biden in a mild mannered way, when people's lives and livelihoods are being destroyed by blue haired Leftists? Trump MUST take off the gloves!! If the rules of genteel society are being broken in the streets, how can we expect Trump to be meek and mild in a debate, or anywhere where there is a microphone? Wars aren't won by the meek and mild. At this time in history, what can we truly expect?

Its a scary scenario when you get right down to it-something like 49% leftist and 49 % right winger and 2% undecided (political dilettantes are just very unattached to any principles or platforms or not looking for that type of substance) The undecideds will decide the election? May God be in their dreams since only He can save us from our collective self. IMO

I have not watched debates since Romney was a total wimp . Whom we now know is his real personality. Immature RINO.
I have NEVER changed my mind over these debates in my life.

Kurtz believes the undecideds came for the big picture - how the candidates differed - and they got it.
I haven’t seen Stanley Kurts, who wrote some of the very best pieces anti-Obama in 2008, for a while. This article came highly recommended. The recommender was right.
