Chris Wallace: Trustworthy Debate Moderator?

Original Article

Posted By: MissMolly, 9/29/2020 4:21:19 AM

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

"Chris Wallace: Trustworthy Debate Moderator?" Not at all.............he likes to project himself as kinda' a "middle of the roader" but he drives in the left lane. Keep your eyes open folks to see if Biden is reading his answers off an Ipad and/or listening to someone feeding him answers through ear pieces.

Wallace is not trustworthy, period. And, he has no moral authority to lecture anyone. The American people are insulted every four years by unqualified, immoral politically motivated moderators supposedly acting in our stead. It's nothing but an opportunity for them to put the spotlight on themselves. Put the debates on YouTube or someplace with no moderators, and let the people have them back. This is so tired.

A basic but accurate test: have you ever heard Wallace ask a question, offer an opinion or mention a topic you hadn't already heard elsewhere, often multiple times from multiple sources? He's a swamper's swamper. A bandwagoneer. A groupthinker.

Mrs G2P (30 year retired ER nurse), was asked if there were medications that help people with dementia to help their mental acuity. There are. However, they only work for about the first six months after the onset and have some pretty negative side effects. Trump is correct in wanting a drug test. Biden's probably on a cocktail of meds for tonight's debate, engineered for his mental acuity. Tomorrow though, he'll be in bed all day recovering. His acuity might only be limited to one kind of focus like Rush mentioned and that of course will be "Orange Man Bad" for the answer to every question. How'd you like a "supporting" wife, family and campaign staff like Mr. Biden's? They're literally killing him so that they can obtain even more power and get away with their past felonies (they probably will even if Trump wins but a Biden win would clinch their criminal activities and allow for many more). Wallace OTH, will pretend and give Biden complete credibility over Trump.

His response to RGB’s passing as “tragic” pretty much sums it up for me. She had everything in this life; notoriety, power, influence, & money. She served on the most powerful court in the world. She died with family by her side at a ripe age of 87. Her death was timely but not tragic. What’s actually tragic is the millions of unborn babies she could have saved with a change of heart.

Joe Biden came into Thursday night’s town hall, which was originally supposed to be a debate, stung by new allegations of influence-peddling involving his son Hunter. The question on everyone’s mind going in was whether he would be allowed to answer any question harder than chocolate or tapioca? With social media strangling the Hunter story from the New York Post, the nation’s oldest continuous daily newspaper, and Twitter going dark after criticism, it was up to old media, ABC News, to act responsibly and ask the question. Joe appeared with Greek heartthrob George Stephanopoulos. They started off with a question from a Democrat who was dismayed by Trump’s response to COVID-19.

Hunter Biden is now the subject of multiple stories involving serious corruption. Whether he committed any crimes is a question for prosecutors and the courts. Whether he was paid handsomely for his family’s political clout is a question for voters. You wouldn’t know that from ABC’s pathetic town hall with his father Joe Biden on Thursday night. They spoke with him for 90 minutes and didn’t ask a single question about the shocking emails published by the New York Post. That’s either journalistic malpractice or public-relations work. After all, the emails raise profound questions that the candidate needs to answer. They appear to show

Joe Biden started spouting nonsense about his background again this week. Trying to sound all man of the people, he told a rally in Ohio that he would be the first president ‘in 80 or 90 years’ who did not attend one of those fancy Ivy League schools. Well no, Joe — Reagan didn’t go to an Ivy, nor did Carter, Nixon, Johnson, Eisenhower, Truman or Hoover. Joe also likes to claim that he is ‘the first in his family to go to college’. It’s a line he famously pilfered in 1987 from a Neil Kinnock speech. It also happens to be untrue. Three decades ago, people cared when Biden lied.

Joe Biden has promised to complete the “fundamental transformation” of America that Barack Obama started. Toward that end, he vows to radicalize the judiciary. He intends to stack it with as many liberal activists as possible, whose rulings would eliminate the actual Constitution in favor of a warped worldview rooted in a political and moral philosophy alien to the founding fathers. The hearings this week provide a window on that warped worldview, one that insists judges deliver health and death at the same time. One moment, the Democrats bashed Amy Coney Barrett for not supporting health care; in the next, they excoriated her for not denying it to unborn children.

We live in an age of nearly limitless access to information, where nearly anyone can find the accurate definition for esoteric systems of thought. And yet, for the last few days, a succession of reporters, actors, and even lawyers have used social media to spew ignorance about “originalism” in the context of jurisprudence. Almost as one, they have rushed to Twitter to hyperventilate about handmaidens and slavery, all of it nonsense. The Vatican’s swirling corruption investigation has taken a mysterious new twist with the arrest on an international warrant of a Sardinian woman said to be close to one of the Holy See’s most powerful cardinals before his downfall. Italy’s financial police said Wednesday that Cecilia Marogna had been arrested in Milan late Tuesday on a warrant issued by the Vatican City State. Presidential candidates are often warned not to measure the drapes, a reminder that first they have to actually win the election before sitting in the Oval Office. Maybe the media could use a similar reminder, based on a recent spate of stories. The subject is who will serve in President Biden’s Cabinet. With less than three weeks before Election Day, journalists want to know, or are suggesting, who would work at the highest levels of the Biden administration. The caveat here, of course, is that there may not be a Biden administration. There were a spate of stories in 2016 forecasting the Hillary Cabinet which, well, turned out to be a fantasy.

The executive order puts some federal government muscle behind Trump’s announcement in January that the United States would help plant a trillion trees as part of a World Economic Forum initiative designed to address climate change. Trump has avoided mentioning climate change when touting his announcement, but he and Republican lawmakers have used the trillion trees effort to tout their environmental bona fides. “Promoting healthy and resilient forests in the United States has been a top priority for President Trump and his administration,” a White House official said.

Conservatives have erupted in anger after NBC's Savannah Guthrie grilled Donald Trump with a 'question every 12 seconds' while ABC's George Stephanopoulos was accused of forgetting to ask Joe Biden about his son Hunter's emails.Trump and Biden both held their town halls Thursday evening, with viewers forced to choose between the clashing timetables after the president scheduled his to go head to head with his competitor. On NBC, Trump was asked about coronavirus, QAnon, his own diagnosis and his taxes by Guthrie while, on ABC, Biden spoke LGBTQ rights, court packing and the 1994 crime bill with Stephanopoulos. But Republicans voiced outrage about the president's campaign event, accusing Guthrie

Members of the Biden family allegedly had a specific system for distributing the money they earned through influence peddling, President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani revealed on Wednesday. According to a smoking gun text on Hunter Biden’s hard drive, members of “the Biden crime family” were expected to give half of their profits to “pop”—aka Joe Biden. Several members of the Biden’s clan, including his brother James Biden, his sister-in-law Sara, and his son Hunter, landed lucrative positions or contracts with foreign countries while Joe Biden was a U.S. senator as well as when he served as vice president.

Even presidential-election contenders who really should know better have gotten into the act.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says that Democrats will not supply a quorum with which to advance the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. Schumer defended this move, saying that Barrett’s nomination is “illegitimate, dangerous and unpopular.” There’s no point debating Schumer on these partisan claims. The question is whether the Democrats can block Barrett’s nomination through this ploy.I don’t think they can. A quorum in the full Senate is 51 members. In the Judiciary Committee it’s nine members including two from the minority party.

President Trump’s influential supporter Rupert Murdoch is telling close associates he believes Joe Biden will win the election in a landslide. The Australian-born billionaire is disgusted by Trump’s handling of COVID-19, remarking that the president is his own worst enemy, that he is not listening to advice about how best to handle the pandemic, and that he’s creating a never-ending crisis for his administration, according to three people who have spoken with Murdoch. In response to an email inquiry for this report asking him if he believes Biden will win in a landslide and his thoughts on Trump’s handling of coronavirus, Murdoch responded, “No comment except I’ve never called Trump an idiot,”

Recently, my pastor noted during his homily that it was Respect Life week. He mentioned that President Trump had signed an executive order to protect babies born alive. The order reads: "Every infant born alive, no matter the circumstances of his or her birth, has the same dignity and the same rights as every other individual and is entitled to the same protections under federal law.” I wasn’t sure why he issued this order because President George Bush had signed into law H.R.2175 - Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002. (snip) it’s obvious that the protection act was not being fully enforced.

Leftist Savannah Guthrie was slammed online on Thursday night for her hostile and biased behavior toward President Donald Trump during an NBC News town hall event that was held in place of the second presidential debate, which was canceled last week.Guthrie, whose husband was former Vice President Al Gore’s traveling chief of staff during the 2000 presidential election cycle, was repeatedly combative with the president while Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden fielded mostly softball questions during a competing town hall event on ABC News. Media reporter Joe Concha highlighted one such instance of Guthrie’s aggressiveness toward the president,

WILMINGTON, Del. -- Joe Biden's presidential campaign said Thursday that vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris will suspend in-person events until Monday after two people associated with the campaign tested positive for coronavirus. The campaign said Biden had no exposure, though he and Harris spent several hours campaigning together in Arizona on Oct. 8. Harris was scheduled to travel Thursday to North Carolina for events encouraging voters to cast early ballots. The campaign told reporters Thursday morning that Harris' communications director and a traveling staff member for her travel to Arizona tested positive after that Oct. 8 trip. CNN host Chris Cuomo declared Tuesday that Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett is no “ordinary Catholic” and that she has a “fundamentalist” approach to her faith that many Christians don’t share. “She does have an affiliation in a religious organization, which I think makes her different than most Catholics,” the prime-time host said while interviewing Sen. Mazie Hirono following the second day of Judge Barrett’s confirmation hearings. “I think that her faith is by design more central to her value system and her behavior and thoughts than it would be for just an ordinary Catholic who doesn’t belong
