U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s husband finds himself in the middle of the latest University of California admissions scandal, accused in a state audit of improperly using his clout to help an applicant get into the elite public system. But Richard Blum, a UC regent, told The Chronicle he’s done nothing wrong and has been writing letters on behalf of many friends and family for years.

Unlike Lori Laughlin and the rest of the folks who got clobbered in the college admissions scandal, Mr. Feinstein will not see any penalties for the use of his influence.

I'm Richard Blum. I see no problem violating the ethics rules that apply to me.So what, I'm a Democrat. What's the big deal? I'll help underqualified people jump in line in front of more qualified applicants if I feel like it. Get off my back.

Well, well, well.
What do we have here? A Red Chinese spy for a chauffeur for 20 years? Insider stock trading? Military contracts with the government?
No, now it is influence pedaling to get spoiled brat children of rich elite into Cal or UCLA

And your wife had the nerve to go after Justice Kavanaugh! Shame on you both. Hope you have to go to trial just like the others and then spend at least 6 months in jail.

Wonder how many were clients, or future clients?
Did he, and by extension, Senator Feinstein benefit from the UC admissions scandal?
How many of those "bunch" of recommendation letter recipients, or their families, find a way of later giving $$$ to DiFi's campaign, or some other Democrat campaign?

Unless he paid money he did nothing wrong. All students get recommendations from connected alumni, politicians, etc. if they can. It's only wrong if someone writes a letter filled with embellishments that are untrue or they really don't know the person. Even then it's not illegal. I agree with others. The dimwits are trying to replace Feinstein for the massacre of Amy Barrett.

A few here see the significance of this:
The media don’t go after a Democrat unless the Democrat Machine wants them gone. Feinstein said she won’t blow up the ACB hearings, so she’s got to go.
She will resign from the committee, at least, if not the Senate

Admission scandals rate two to six months in prison--that's the standard established by Lori Loughlin and her husband.

They hold on to this stuff, then drop it when needed, like when "they" don't think 87 year old Sen. Feinstein will be up to the task of taking down Trump's nominee but can't ask a woman to hand over the gavel. Poor thing probably didn't even see it coming.
