WASHINGTON — Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on Friday of “complications of metastatic pancreas cancer,” the Supreme Court announced.“Our nation has lost a jurist of historic stature,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said in a statement. “We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn, but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her — a tireless and resolute champion of justice.” The development will give President Trump the opportunity to name her replacement, and Senate Republicans have promised to try to fill the vacancy even in the waning days of his first term.

"A jurist of historic stature"? That means she was very short, right?

But, but, they said she was doing great after her 3,254th time in critical care... I'll bet Obama is p^ssed at her for waiting until Hillary became president, oh wait. Hillary never became president. Now, oh my, Trump, the Orange, gets to appoint a successor. Watch the streets erupt with riots and the Democrats erupt with screams, pulling of hair, and gnashing of teeth.

Have no fear fellow Conservatives. Romney and Sass and at least one other RINO will stop any appointment. They see a chance to further their chances to become a thorn in the side of Trump and enhance their position in the Demo-rat party when they jump the Repub. ship.

May she Rest In Peace. The pundits will show respect but we’re all thinking the same thing. How will DJT play this court opening? They’ve known all along that this could happen at any time so I’m sure there is a plan ready to go after a respectable period of mourning. I’m guessing DJT will go for it and nominate someone next week. This has just changed the campaign beyond anyone’s expectation.

Amy Coney Barrett would be a great replacement, but the votes may not be there -- a handful of RINOs could block the nomination. If that is the reality, does Trump quickly nominate a middle-of-the-roader who can be confirmed (and who in any event would be far better than Ginsburg) or take his chances on the election. Trump could win big and increase the GOP Senate majority with his coattails, making a Barrett confirmation likely. But the GOP could also lose the Presidency and the Senate, in which case "Biden" would nominate a Ginsburg-like replacement.

On the phone with the hubs and I saw it on fakebook so I came here for confirmation. I started singing Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. He asked me who died and I said satans daughter aks hillarys mother. He’s a nicer person than I am so I had to explain the situation. He was good once I said she was 87. He said oh yeah it’s time to go.

Puts Chief Just-Us Roberts in a pickle. What if the court is 4-4 on the election. He knows that would be hell on the country and he has no character or integrity. Ruthie's death is tragedy to her family. But an opportunity for the live blood of this country. The dem frothing at the mouth faithful will vote as they already will vote. The vast majority of voters will not care. Use this gift from the legal deities. This isn't about an evil woman that has died. This is about our country.

A total disgrace of a Supreme Court Justice. She had a long history with the ACLU and she did much to shred our constitution. Her robes better be fire proofed.
All the media is playing the woman card and slobbering over her. She has much to answer for now that she is gone to meet her Maker.

If PDT doesn't immediately appoint a replacement and somehow loses the election, this would be one of the biggest political disasters in the history of our Republic. He has to replace her before Nov 3rd. There is no other option. All others spell nothing but disaster. If he were somehow to lose the election and leave this appointment up to Hidin' and the Kamel; it would be unforgivable.

Amy Coney Barrett would be an excellent pick, somebody who would be the least likely person to turn into a liberal squish after being appointed. Unlike Biden, she is a real Catholic with solid conservative principles. And as a woman, Camel-a Harris wouldn’t be able to accuse her of being a gang rapist when grandstanding during the Judiciary Committee hearing. And, finally, Trump can say Barrett was his second choice last time and thoroughly vetted, so the committee hearing can start now. I can’t wait to see all the Dem and Dem-press heads explode. MAGA!

Her refusal to retire because she did not want Trump to name her successor was a blatantly political act. She was very likely unable to perform her duties for quite some time. Trump's announcement of his potential replacements this past week was not happenstance.

Why are so many people saying he needs to have someone/anyone confirmed by November 3rd? Oh, yee of little faith and weak constitutions. It would be great if he seats Amy Coney Barrett, but I don't want a moderate that can get confirmed just to get it done in this term. That's not why I voted for the president. I want a fire-breathing Constitutionalist to replace the fire-breathing Socialist RBG. Dig in your heels, because the Tsunami is coming. Besides, if the Marxists win it doesn't really matter, because the Marxists will expand the SC to 12 justices as FDR tried to do and stack the court.

Ginsburg's asserted iconic greatness centers on one trait above all others...her steadfast protection of a woman's right to kill her unborn child regardless of what the constitution says. This is nothing to be proud of, much less to be idolized.
