The most interesting thing about Byron York’s exhaustively reported and richly detailed new impeachment book, “Obsession: Inside the Washington Establishment’s Never-Ending War on Trump,” is that the whistleblower who filed the official complaint that got impeachment rolling isn’t ever identified.
(Snip) the heated discussion over the whistleblower, who was previously identified by Real Clear Investigations as the CIA’s Eric Ciaramella, was a diversion from allowing the American people to understand who was the actual instigator of the failed effort to oust President Donald Trump from office.
Rather than being a witness who independently supported the claims of the whistleblower, the National Security Council’s Lt. Col Alex Vindman was the driving force behind

I’m glad Vindman is finally out of the White House, but he sure got off easy.

How about deporting him to Ukraine?
With a shoot on sight order if he comes back?
We don't need him here.

When he testified he sure was testy! Now we know why he had that stick-up-his-@ss look on his face.

My question has always been what foreign entity was Vindman working for? Ukraine is too obvious and too easy to connect the dots but suspect there was a much bigger player behind Vindman.

Const. Art. II, Sec. 1 states: "The executive Power shall be vested in the President of the United States of America." Not the Congress, not the NSC, not the State Department, not the FBI. The President. Vindman's problem--and the problem of most liberals--is that they either never read or have long forgotten how the government is supposed to work. They believe the President is confined by the "consensus" of the foreign policy establishment. American education used to teach the Constitution in 8th grade, then again in high school civics. My guess is that LTC Vindman still does not get it. The President may decide to change foreign policy over the phone, in the shower or at is desk in the Oval Office. Those who are allowed to listen in on the phone call ultimately work for him and are there to understand and carry out policy at it is made, like it or resign. As for Adam Schiff, the only thing I can conclude is that they must have stopped teaching Con Law at Harvard.

#4 may have the answer—if he can be recalled. Depends on his status. If possible, is the principal charge — treason?

Yes, a courts martial is appropriate for Vindman. He violated his oath and conspired, and acted, against the Commander-in-Chief. Vindman should be dishonorably discharged, stripped of all pay and benefits- including retirement- and incarcerated in Leavenworth military prison for the remainder of his life!
Vindman is an insult to the uniform, and to his fellow officers!

Vindman is an unspeakable weasel. It's extremely disturbing that Obama corrupted the military to this extent. The 17 agencies of the Obama KGB Gestapo were already severely corrupted even before he took over. Over the course of 8 years Obama got rid of a lot of non-compliant officers. If we lose the military, this nation is finished.

This weasel is a military bureaucrat who decided he was superior to the President of the United States. Trump was both his boss as head of the executive branch AND as Vindman's Commander in Chief. Vindman was very lucky he wasn't court marshalled for disobeying a direct order and for subversive activity.
The dems carried this process out in the dark and with somewhat obvious circular connections. It wouldn't be all that surprising that Schiffty himself was the whistleblower. Democracy dies in darkness and the dems pulled a full eclipse blackout. It's anti American and appalling that it was legal. Whistleblowers should NOT have protection once legal actions are started. If the issues go to court or impeachment it should be required that whistleblowers be identified and testify in public.

FTA: “Republicans saw Vindman as a loyal American who had strong and inflexible views on what U.S. policy toward Ukraine should be and who was offended, and spurred to action, when the President of the United States appeared to change them,” York writes.
This is why the left is able to get away with so much of their destruction of the Constitution.
He was trying to usurp the power of the POTUS, and receiving more respect, consideration and support of his “strong and inflexible views” than the constitutionally elected leader of WTP and his decisions.
“The Republicans” need to take off their blinders and check their sympathies with the U.S. Constitution. Thankfully, some of the worst offenders have shown their allegiance with the Socialist Democrats by publicly supporting them over the POTUS. Be gone and stay there!

Trump needs 4 more years, with a Republican House and maintain the Senate.
Imagine how much more information will be uncovered without Democrats obstructing and hiding 50+ hearing transcripts that exonerated Trump administration of the Democrat-led Russian collusion story.
And, how well the economy will flourish.

You can be certain that the Vindman brothers are sweating out this election. If Trump is re-elected there is a very good chance that Alexander will be recalled to active duty and both Vindmans will face a Board of Officers inquiry which could lead to criminal charges under the UCMJ. Such recalls while not common are far from rare.

If Vindman should learn to ice skate he can play Dr. Bunsen Honeydew in the Muppets on Ice show once they start post-Covid touring.

He figured if he could get his friends back in power, over there, he could retire and then become a high muckety-muck working for the corrupt Ukrainians.
I agree. No loyalty here to our country or to his oath.
Hang him.

As #16 pointed out, the wimpy “UniParty” Republicans are a danger to the USA by continuously caving in to the leftist and liberal Democrats anytime push comes to shove. There is no doubt that Alexander Vindman should be court marshaled and dishonorably discharged at the least.

This is interesting. And so logical. As aide to McMaster, Ciaramella was in a position to have a lot of information. But it was Vindman who was on the infamous phone call between President Trump and the president of Ukraine. He ran to Ciaramella, rather than the other way around...
