“FOX News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace has been selected to moderate the first presidential debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates announced Wednesday. Wallace will moderate the first debate, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Cleveland. Other moderators announced for future debates are Susan Page of USA Today, Steve Scully of C-SPAN and Kristen Welker of NBC News.Wallace won wide praise for his performance moderating a 2016 debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton. That was the first time a Fox News anchor had been selected to moderate a general election debate.
OK, let Rush moderate the 2nd one.

Hmmm. It’s not exactly a secret that Chris Wallace despises President Trump. I hope he’ll at least attempt to be “fair and balanced.”

Closest we'll have to a "fair fight" in a moderator (which isn't too much).
The prevailing opinion is that Pres. Trump will wipe the floor with Sleepy Uncle Joe in the debates, which may be true -- but don't forget that Sleepy Uncle Joe will have the advantage of a pro-Biden moderator in every debate.
Candy Crowley probably will be the moderator the second time. I expect Anderson Cooper and some chick will get the other two.

What's wrong with the pubbies that they can't seem to insist on non-leftard moderators? Are they stuck on stupid?

As most of us already know, there will be no debate. Biden does not have the courage, the energy or, to put it nicely, the presence of mind.

I wonder at what time of day the so-called debates will occur. If Biden suffers from dementia, evenings are problematic due to “sun downing.” I notice that both his recent public appearances have taken place in the early afternoon which is often the time of the day when sufferers are the sharpest. We’re basement appearances taped and, in any case, what time did they occur? The two recent appearances were under an hour and ended abruptly. If Biden is mentally compromised Democrats will have to come up with a ruse to avoid debates or to blame Pres. Trump for Biden’s predictably rickety performance. An example:
Wallace: Mr. Biden, do you have an explanation as to why the Swine Flu was handled badly under your watch?
Biden: It was bad, you know, the weather. Think about it. It wasn’t the Chinese. Come on, man. It was a joke, that, you know the thing. And by the way (thumb pointing to PDJT) he’s looking at me.
Wallace: Mr. President, THE burning question: is it your intention to embarrass the country by looking at people?

Yes #7, yes the RNC is still stuck on terminally stupid. They allow the debate commission folks to do whatever they wish
and always at GOP expense.

Mr. Trump, how long have you been beating your wife?
Mr. Biden, I was going to ask you your favorite color and give you three to choose from, but I will wait until you wake up. In the meantime . . .
Mr. Trump, unnamed experts say your administration is corrupt. Why do you continue to deny it?

In the Biden corner, look it’s Candy Crowley / aka Chrissie Wallace. Just to try to even things out he’ll be helping Dementia Joe along.

Recently President Trump was on Fox News Sunday and Wallace challenged him on an answer. I can't remember what it was, but the President was right.
Wallace is snide and sarcastic, and sees himself as superior.
I'm sure someone here will remember the details.

Why can't the best and smartest at Fox be the moderator? I think Tucker Carlson would be a perfect pick. After all, fairness requires that they make up for Candy Crowley switching from moderator to Obama's tag team partner.

You know, I'd be okay if Rachel Madcow "moderated" one debate if Sean Hannity or Tucker Carlson or even El Rushbo (Limbaugh) got another debate. Or Mark Levin/

Wallace is already covering up for Biden's bragging he was a progressive, and not a moderate, on "Chris's" Sunday show in February.

Kkkris Wallass is very hostile to Trump, and would love to throw some firebomb questions at him. I don’t trust him at all. Trump is smarter than him so no problem. Biden will get high blooping softballs all night.

All Wallace is good for is giving his mother's soup recipes to Imus. They weren't very good either.
I hope Trump goes off script the whole show and blows Biden away -- far away.

Really? So he is going to give the Biden team his questions just like that woman who now works at Fox??? Trust me, this guy is the biggest con I have ever seen! I don't understand that this POS works for Fox. Hoping that one of the Trumps forms a new Fox, but only for conservatives and this creep, Wallace, need not apply!

Assuming there is a first debate, if Wallace pulls a Candy Crowley, Trump will castrate him. Unlike the last two pussies.
It will be fun to watch.

Honestly I believe Mr Tucker would do a far more balanced job. He may lean GOP but he sure doesn't drink the kool aid! If Trump misspoke or had a obscure answer, I believe I could trust Mr Tucker to drill down and get a clear response.
