Air Force One is already one of the fastest passenger planes in the world—but the Pentagon wants to make it a lot faster. The U.S. Air Force recently awarded a contract to the aviation firm Exosonic to begin developing a presidential aircraft that can travel at supersonic speeds. The research award, reportedly worth $1 million, will fund work to “modify” Exosonic’s existing plans for a supersonic commercial plane into a proposal for a presidential-grade aircraft. In a Twitter post this week, the Air Force’s Life Cycle Management Center said the contract is intended to “develop a low-boom supersonic executive transport aircraft

A new lawsuit accuses McDonald’s of steering Black franchise owners to less-profitable restaurants and denying them the same opportunities offered to their white counterparts—a scheme described as a “Big Mac Attack” that allegedly fits the company’s decades-long pattern of “systemic and covert racial discrimination.” The complaint, filed Monday by 52 Black plaintiffs who once owned at least one McDonald’s store around the country, accuses the fast-food giant of misleading Black operators, denying them growth opportunities and the chance of buying more profitable stores, retaliating against them and eventually forcing them out.(Snip) “These neighborhood were the tough areas, often filled with

Graceland, the Elvis Presley estate that is Memphis' signature landmark and most popular tourist draw, was hit overnight with "Defund the Police" and "BLM" (Black Lives Matter) graffiti. Vandals also struck the Levitt Shell in Overton Park, spray-painting scrawled obscenities—"F--- TRUMP" and "F--- STRICKLAND," a reference to Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland—alongside "BLM," "Defund MPD," "EAT THE RICH" and other phrases. The Graceland vandalism was more elaborate, with "DEFUND MPD" and "BLM" painted in thick black letters on the sidewalk along Elvis Presley Boulevard, alongside "#DEFUND THE POLICE," "ABOLISH ICE" (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and other slogans sprayed in black and orange letters

These two women duked it out at LaGuardia Airport before even boarding their Delta flight to Atlanta, wild video footage shows. The two passengers were captured brawling on the floor of the jet bridge on Sunday as stunned passengers and employees looked on. Off-camera, someone can be heard saying, “Come get Aaliyah, she’s fighting,” before a woman and a man approach the pair. Destiny Davis, a passenger who shot the viral video, said she thought the combatants are “either cousins or sisters,” according to Storyful.
“Once they started to fight, there was little intervention and the police took a while to show up

Levittown, NY—In the U.S. Declaration of Independence, the phrase "created equal" is followed by the passage that Americans are "endowed… with certain unalienable rights," including "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The writers and signers of the 1776 declaration were white, male property owners who extended those unalienable rights only to people like themselves. It wasn't until 1856 that all U.S. states allowed non-property owners the right to vote. Even that milestone allowed only white men to be full U.S. citizens, but the precedent had long been set—that ownership of property could be the root of inequity in the U.S. The discrimination and segregation

More than 200 people on Monday night marched to the Pearl District condominium tower where Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler lives to demand his resignation. The demonstration quickly turned destructive as some in the crowd lit a fire in the street, then placed a picnic table from a nearby business on top of the fire to feed the blaze. People shattered windows and broke into a ground-floor dental office took items including a chair, also added to the fire, and office supplies.
Shortly after 11 p.m., a bundle of newspapers was set ablaze and thrown into a ground-floor storefront in the residential building.

NYPD Chief Chaplain Rabbi Alvin Kass was mugged on the Upper West Side early Tuesday morning, sources told The Post. Kass, 84, was on his morning walk when he was attacked around 5:45 a.m. near West 107th Street and Riverside Drive. Police said the suspect said he was hungry and demanded money, rifling through Kass’s pockets and grabbing his wallet. The wallet fell to the ground and the attacker fled with nothing. The rabbi—the longest-serving member of the NYPD who’s served as top chaplain for 54 years—fell and hurt his shoulder, sources said. He refused medical attention at the scene.

Left-wing groups in Oregon demanded Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler resign after the death of a right-wing protester over the weekend, saying Mr. Wheeler has allowed the city to spiral out of control. Portland’s Democratic Socialists of America, Oregon’s chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Portland’s Resistance and other groups said they feel Mr. Wheeler has sided with the right wing folks over them.(Snip) “What took place last night was inevitable given Mayor Wheeler’s repeated failures. He has not protected or supported Portlanders. We do not have confidence in his ability to course-correct. He must resign,” the groups said.

Declaring President Donald Trump a “toxic presence,” Joe Biden forcefully condemned the violence at recent protests while also blaming Trump for fomenting the divide that’s sparking it. “He doesn’t want to shed light, he wants to generate heat, and he’s stoking violence in our cities,” Biden said Monday. “He can’t stop the violence because for years he’s fomented it.”
In one of his sharpest attacks on the president yet, Biden went on to call Trump a “toxic presence in this nation for four years” and accuse him of “poisoning the values this nation has always held dear, poisoning our very democracy.”

A Manhattan judge became the latest victim of senseless city violence when she was cold-cocked by an apparent stranger on a bike while walking to work Monday, officials and law enforcement sources told The Post. Criminal court Judge Phyllis Chu, 56, had just gotten off the Staten Island Ferry and was headed to her job at the downtown courthouse at 100 Centre St. around 9:40 a.m. when she was suddenly slugged in the jaw by a male cyclist at the corner of Wall and Water streets. “With no words exchanged, a bicyclist riding in the opposite direction as the one she was walking

Columbia University has removed the name of the founder of its medical school, who also served as George Washington’s doctor, from a campus dormitory because he was a slave owner. Samuel Bard, the founder of what is now Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, was a pioneer in obstetrics and the treatment of diphtheria, but also owned several slaves and once advertised promising a reward for the return of one who had run away. Bard Hall, which opened in 1931, is a dormitory for clinical students. In a letter to students and faculty, Columbia President Lee Bollinger said that the change “feels urgent”.

One day after rioters destroyed the Sports Dome retail complex in St. Paul, a construction crew hired by the city knocked the building down because it was dangerously unstable. Then the city presented the property owners with a $140,000 bill for what it would cost to haul away the debris. “We were really upset about that,” said property owner Jay Kim, whose insurance policy covers a maximum of $25,000 in demolition costs. “We thought that was high. But we didn’t know how much demolition would cost at the time.” Like dozens of other investors whose properties were severely damaged in the May riots,
