Joe Biden’s quick trip to Pittsburgh and his speech there Monday condemning urban violence show Democrats now recognize they made a major mistake in ignoring the problem at their convention. They’ve read the polls and finally realize voters care about the arson, shootings, and looting -- and their own safety. That’s a problem for the Biden campaign, which had almost nothing to say about the violence all summer. Now, they are doing “cleanup on Aisle 6” and there’s a lot of broken glass around.

Did you see the pictures of him making this speech? He's in a room with a few biased reporters sitting in socially distanced circles. Otherwise the room is void of other warm bodies. He fumbled more than one thought and couldn't complete the written sentence/paragraph correctly. And we are suppose to be dazzled that he was actually in PA making a campaign speech? I believe we had been told he was flying to PA to make this marvelous speech that would turn us all into Biden voters. Biden is escaping the basement of Delaware to challenge Trump head on. This was a joke. After he spoke he marched off. Well, shuffled off without taking questions, again. Why did he feel the need to go to PA? After all doesn't flying cause climate change? He could have stayed home and given the same poorly delivered speech, ignored the reporters and have a pudding cup as soon as he was done. The optics are pretty amazing, especially since this was touted as a big deal.

Another problem for Biden, and the democrats, is that they oppose police, and law enforcement in general. They like to talk about ''dirty'' cops who harass blacks and ''peaceful'' protesters. They never talk about dirty protesters, including Antifa and BLM, claiming they are all peaceful and have a right to destroy property- and now murder!

Biden always condemns violence, but never says who he is condemning. Does not say antifa, does not say blm, does not call out who is doing the violence. But sure is fast to say that the protestors are Trump supporters, which is a lie.

To summarize Biden's candidacy: the Emperor has no clothes. Recall the Danish folktale. The emperor, clothed in invisible finery, rode his horse through the crowd, all cowed into believing what they had been told. Finally a small child blurted out that the emperor was naked. Let's hope we hear from another small child soon.

Perhaps the DNC could create a do-over, hold a new convention so Joe could tell us what he really thinks, then go back a little earlier and choose a new running mate. By the time they repair the last 47 years they might have a viable candidate.
Aside from that they are now riding in a Mitsubishi A6M Zero that has had both wings shot off and is on a flaming vertical path into the Pacific.

I thought for sure it was going to be: porridge/Ensure, nap/watch 'his stories' and diaper/no diaper.

"It shouldn’t take CNN’s Don Lemon or the New York Times to say, “Look at the polls. This is hurting our party.”"
No it shouldn't AND reversing their position because they realized it would hurt them in the election makes them seem calculating, grasping, and petty, which they are. They don't care that it was bad for America. They only cared about the effect on their party.
"Biden must lay out an affirmative agenda on a whole range of prominent issues."
And BIDEN needs to be able to clearly and convincingly articulate, that is to verbally express, them. Even 20 years ago it is not clear that Joe was capable of that. Joe was all bluster and glad handing but REAL leadership, not so much. That's why he plagiarized good ideas. Now, Joe can't read off a teleprompter. This challenge seems not only a "bridge too far" but a "bridge to the moon" for Joe. If he tries and falls apart, he is toast.
The dems are now facing the political gremlins that have inhabited the party since 2016, the hard Left is the energy and focus of the party yet it is that same hard Left that is unelectable in the general election. Even BJ Clintoon in his prime would have had trouble threading this needle. Biden was clearly meant to be the electable figurehead while the Left actually ran things. Biden's mental implosion opened the door for the Left to be more vocal at exactly the wrong time, as voters start to pay attention.
Yes, Biden needs to step out but would it be better he didn't and the dems simply lose and rebuild OR will it be better that Joe step out and CONFIRM he is incompetent? Then the question would be, "How can we trust a party/media that tried to foist such a damaged person on the voters?". Yes, there is an infinitesimal chance that Biden can meet the challenges laid out in this article. I also have a unicorn I would like to sell you.
