President Trump still plans to visit Kenosha this week despite Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers’ letter urging him to call off his trip amid concerns his presence “will only hinder our healing” after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, the White House said. “The White House has been humbled by the outreach of individuals from Kenosha who have welcomed the President’s visit and are longing for leadership to support local law enforcement and businesses that have been vandalized,” White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement late Sunday, CNN reported. “President Trump looks forward to visiting on Tuesday and helping this great city heal and rebuild,”

Notice how many times the governor repeated "your presence will" in his letter. He's afraid of what President Trump's presence will do for those who've reached out to the President and what it will do to further fire up average citizens against him and the mayor. It has nothing to do with preventing any healing and rebuilding.
"The governor added: “It is our job as elected officials to lead by example and to be a calming presence for the people we know are hurting, mourning, and trying to cope with trauma. Now is not the time for divisiveness.”"
Then, stop being divisive, governor.
This right here scares everything brown out of them.
"The family’s lawyer, Benjamin Crump, has said the Blake family hasn’t been contacted by Trump’s team, but he suggested they might be willing to meet with the president."

Good move because the looters mostly have gone back to their parents basement till they are called for the next dead criminal. Meanwhile this is actually a nice law abiding city that should rally for the President.

Such a poorly written letter by a governor of a great state. His High School English teacher must be ashamed.

The left is terrified of the optics of this event - PDT meeting with black people whose businesses, neighborhoods and lives have been destroyed by a bunch of white genXers dressed in black. People who want MORE police, not less. Real people, not a bunch of gimmedats.

PDT will not be just visiting Kenosha as in a small Wisconsin city but 'Kenosha' as it affects all of law abiding America. He will be talking to all citizens yearning for normalcy, security and the opportunity to go about their lives unmolested. That is why orders have come to Gov. Evers from Washington. That is what 'hinder our healing' means. We know this by now.

PRESIDENT Trump wants to build things up. BLM want to tear things down. Americans know this. It’s why PRESIDENT Trump has their support. Evers can’t support this. It’s against the Dems agenda. They want control and power.

‘Trauma’ and ‘Healing’. Such drama. More like a new opportunity to loot and riot. This little nobody mayor thought he was going to tell the POTUS what to do. Think again buttercup.

Trauma and healing = hope and change. Sounds like liberal double-speak to me. Trauma and healing is the code for riots and hurting people's lives. Evers is a weasel like every other democrat mayor and governor condoning this mayhem.
He's squirming in his Depends as he knows a visit by the President is a signal this is a disaster area--like those hit by hurricanes.
MAGA!!! KAG!!! TRUMPS 2020 AND BEYOND!!! Go, Mr. President, but be safe. We're praying for you and a truly immediate and peaceful solution to this and all the other messes (Portland, Seattle, DC, and LA).

All due respect, Mr. Mayor, but the only thing that will help your city “heal” is for George Soros to issue orders to stop the violence.

The Governor of Wisconsin has no authority to tell the President what to do. When these jerks refuse federal aid to quell riots, they are fomenting them. There are many governors and mayors that need to be fired.

You know, this might give Kenosha a leg-up. There is tremendous security around a presidential visit. For those few hours, any stupidity will gt its own, instant reward...

The governor is making another big mistake. Not protecting people and their property and businesses was a massive mistake, although I am sure it was totally planned and intentional. Not caring and visiting and pledging to help them stop it and rebuild is a really stupid, heartless unforced second error.
Trump is right, as usual.

The Secret Service has no control over POTUS, including where he chooses to go; however, I think it would be prudent for POTUS to authorize deputizing as federal marshals a squadron of Delta operators to ensure the president's safety on the streets of Kenosha. Afterwards, take the road show to Portland so the president can personally oversee the city's pacification. To accept "no-go" communities for Americans of the non-progressive/communist persuasion, is far more offensive than a few heaps of dead Antifa/BLM enemy combatants.

#21, no offense against the brilliantly capable operators of Delta Force, but they are trained for war, not for policing, and the two things are VERY different. The Secret Service are very highly trained and skilled, and are law enforcement officers, not soldiers. Certainly, once shooting starts things are more similar, but even then the ROEs are VERY different.
The simplest and shortest way to highlight the difference is that when a soldier identifies 'the enemy' he shoots and kills him, NOW. When a law enforcement officer identifies a criminal, he makes an effort to arrest him and hold him for trial and adjudication of guilt. Yes, sometimes the LEO 'goes to guns' and things get closer to a soldier's job.
Huge differences in training, mindset and fundamental skill sets. Each is superb in their element, neither is appropriate in the other's element.

He is gathering first hand info on HOW the Police are being prevented from doing their job.

Yes indeed #15, these Democrat Governors have nerve to tell President Trump he is not welcome in their state. Its about time somebody told Crump’s latest cash cow families that they have no right to say such things either!

Re: #22 - Contrary to your reasonable assumption, Delta operators have already been trained and have experience in law enforcement support within the US, certainly more so than the Marines GHW Bush sent into LA or the Airborne troops sent into Little Rock by Eisenhower. The Atlanta prison riots and hostage incident were ended by a Delta demonstration of explosive breaching capability, cleverly set up within view of the hostage takers and rioters. I have 40 years experience in the military and law enforcement and when an American city looks like a war zone, it is the perpetrators who have blurred the distinction between combat and law enforcement.

#25, if there are specially train for law enforcement portions, then fine with me. But too many, out of ignorance of the difference in the ROE and goals between a soldier in war and a law enforcement officer assume that the two are interchangable when they are no.
Typically the military units which are most trained to span the gap are the MP units which operate regularly as law enforcement, but are equally ready to move into 'soldeir mode' if needed. I was unaware of Delta operating outside of the hostage rescue and other special ops field. I do not doubt their skills at arms in the slightest.
And, thank you for your service. I have many friends in both communities who have educated me about the differences.
