Anti-poverty billboards urging
people to get a job, finish
school removed after backlash

Original Article

A series of anti-poverty billboards sponsored by a Black conservative group urges young people to finish school, get a job, get married and save money, but apparently that advice was too inflammatory for Milwaukee. The “Tired of Poverty” billboards, part of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education’s “Success Sequence” campaign, were removed this week by Clear Channel Outdoor after complaints about the message, which one local woman described as an “attack.” The four billboards featured photos of young Black people with the message, “Tired of Poverty? Finish school. Take Any Job. Get Married. Save & Invest. Give Back to Your Neighborhood.”

Comments:

Common sense is inflammatory and lacks proper attribution, they say.

I'm supposed to think that screaming mobs of anarchists should be able to spew whatever nonsense they choose. I think inner city blacks can handle the sight of a billboard telling them ways to improve their lives. The anarchists are ruining inner cities. The black conservative group is trying to save them.

There is a faction in Black “communities” that rejects White cultural factors as those mentioned in the article, factors that make people successful in modern Western capitalist societies, as being racist, and not fit for Black folks. That’s the real story that sustains degenerate Black ghetto culture, that in turn spawns spontaneous arson, looting, and general rioting that just about always ends up destroying critical “community” commercial centers and especially drug and grocery stores. Nobody except the Black “community” itself can correct that circumstance of ghetto Black lifestyle.

I think most of the poverty people are rather comfortable with the dems. They have welfare and all kinds of other programs of assistance to give them some sort of acceptable live, and a reason not to strive. If some of them want to break out of the doldrums, they pretty much know the path to take, like what was on the billboard. LBJ had it right.

According to the Smithsonian Institute's Museum of African American History, this whole "work ethic, rugged individualism, nuclear family" thing is a "whiteness" trait and other ethnicities need not bother themselves with it. That, and more, was on their "Whiteness Chart" that has since been removed but have no doubt, there are still large segments of society that feel that way. That having a work ethic is a 'white privilege' thing and if you don't subscribe to it, it's okay, there are OTHER ways to get what you want that doesn't involve working for it.
