Rush hour on Interstate 94 between St. Paul and Minneapolis can be a slow trip under normal circumstances, but Wednesday evening’s commute came to a crawl when a convoy of vehicles driving at a snail’s pace blocked all westbound lanes. The incident, which the State Patrol described as a protest, included as many as 60 vehicles driving about 10 mph.(Snip) MnDOT traffic management cameras showed motorists sitting atop vehicles waving both American flags and flags of the Oromo Liberation Front, a political party established in 1973 by Oromo people in Ethiopia. Last month, a group affiliated with the Oromo blocked a freeway

Comments:

Every last one of them would be on the first flight back to Ethiopia if I were president. Hitch up the mules and hit the unpaved trails, boys, there's protestin' to do.

Call out the snow plows. They could open up a path and just push aside the trouble makers.

I don't know about there, but in my State "matching speeds at ANY speed" is considered "racing". I understand Insurance companies are not attracted to such items against a customer.

They only arrested four? I can see at least twenty license plates in that photo that could be read through magnification. Take your silly protest back to Ethiopia and stay there. We are in a steady transition to the Third World. One would wish that there would be a horde of bikers on their way to Sturgis stuck behind them. In many cities, 10 mph on a road like that is standard.

Have driven this stretch thousands of times! There are other routes available! When I see a traffic Jam, I bust a move to a secondary Plan B or C! If I’m moving at 40 mph it still beats 10! Oh yea...since we will no longer travel through Mpls...we won’t EVER be on this awful highway again! Yay us! Minnesot Alia is dead to us!

Get ready to scream for ice cream—with a brand-new song. RZA, of the Wu-Tang Clan, has partnered with Good Humor to write a cheerful new ice cream truck jingle in place of “Turkey in the Straw”—an earworm with a troubled history long criticized for being racist. “Remember that ice cream jingle?” the rap legend, 51, said while introducing his new song. “Of course—we all know it. A federal appeals court in New Orleans on Thursday ruled that the all-male military draft system is constitutional, pointing to a 1981 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. The case, which was argued in March, stemmed from a lawsuit filed by two men with the National Coalition for Men who had challenged the historic male-only draft. They had argued that the 1981 case was outdated and was ruled on when women were not as involved in combat as many are today. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rule that “only the Supreme Court may revise its precedent.”

They point out there are no Black people on the City Council for the first time since the 1960s. And they believe racism forced Carmen Best to leave her job as the city's top cop. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best wouldn't call out the Seattle City Council. "Yeah, I'm not using that harsh word," she said. Neither would Mayor Jenny Durkan, her boss. Revelations last week that this spring’s $576 million unemployment fraud, the largest in state history, started much earlier than previously acknowledged have spurred a storm of new questions over the handling of the crime. Data released Aug. 3 by the state Employment Security Department (ESD) shows that criminals were filing fake claims in the first week of March. That’s more than two months before ESD publicly disclosed the fraud and temporarily froze benefit payments, in mid-May, by which time a staggering 56% of the weekly claims ESD was paying were from criminals, many of them reportedly overseas.

In actuality the woman, identified only as AV in court documents, died in Brooklyn in 1971. But the government began paying Social Security six years later in 1977, and she was listed

It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mattress for California Democrat Kingmaker Willie Brown. Willie Brown is 30 years older than Harris and was very married at the time. It was public. It was an embarrassment. With Joe Biden’s photo metaphorically the definition of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, voters will decide in November whether they want Harris to be their president some time in the next four years. Of almost equally significant concern is what Harris represents to hard-working women across the country who devote years to their careers

President Trump continues to be his own worst enemy: On Thursday, he stooped to calling presumptive vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris a “mad woman.” That doesn’t promote his agenda. It doesn’t help him with women. It doesn’t shore up his image as worthy of the nation’s highest office. It’s just, as Trump would say, mean and nasty. Sure, Harris isn’t the first target of Trump’s ad hominem attacks or over-the-top language. But making everything personal is unbecoming. It turns off voters who like his policies but dislike his rhetoric.
