U.S. Attorney John Durham will soon interview former CIA Director John Brennan, another sign that the investigation of the Trump-Russia investigators is ready to wrap up by the end of the summer.
Durham, the federal prosecutor from Connecticut appointed by Attorney General William Barr to investigate the origins of the Crossfire Hurricane inquiry and to scrutinize the conduct of the law enforcement leaders and intelligence officials involved in it, has asked to interview Brennan, according to “people familiar with the request” cited by NBC News, and the former top spy and vociferous Trump critic has reportedly agreed to the sit-down.

I agree with others! I would have thought Brennan, Clapper and Comey would have been interviewed first! Not looking for anything from Durham! It will all be buried, just like Hillary's Servers!

What a load of crap. This stinks to high heavens. So if this is a criminal investigation and Brennan could be charged with some felony offenses, shouldn't Brennan's "interview" with Durham be happening in a courtroom under oath in front of a judge and jury? Or has Brennan already been granted immunity from prosecution? But, on the other hand, isn't this how they set up Gen. Flynn?

They gather up all the information before the big fish. It makes a better interview when you already have the answers. This is an indication they are getting close.

This sounds logical to me. Don't the biggest fish get deposed last, after gathering documentation and testimony from those lower on the food chain first?
Brennan will be asked questions that Durham already knows the answers to.

6 and 7are correct. When they have their sit down the answers will be known. Brennan is making a mistake in having the interview. If he doesn’t tell the truth, the whole truth, and noting but the truth the feds will know almost at once.

#6 & #7 have the correct take. And Brennan knows it too! No doubt deals have been made with the underlings along the way and it will all be revealed piece by piece with enough time to make an impact on the election. Brennan will roll over on the next level up.......who might that be? I've been waiting for this for a long time!

Have feeling that Durham, like Wray, Huber and Rosenstein are all Soros loyalists. And the the only question of substance for Brennan will be “Would you like to have dinner with my wife and I this weekend”.
Obama, Brennan. Comey and dozens of others involved in the coup will all grow richer while Flynn, Stone, Papadopoulus grow poorer. Or, Trump supporters lives don’t matter.

Good comments and I can agree with both sides. The optimist in me wants to believe that Durham is bringing Brennan in to allow him to decide to cooperate or not. However, my cynicism whispers In my ear that this has the potential to be a total disappointment. While I do believe President Trump and a few Republicans are interested in bringing a case against those individuals who conspired to interfere in an election and then when they did not get the outcome they desired, further conspired to unseat a duly elected President. However, the rest of Washington is not. The troubling reality is the total lack of government willingness to police itself. Even during the Trump administration FBI Director Wray has declined to release documents pertinent to this investigation. How are we ever to see justice served if the highest law enforcement agency in the country will not cooperate? This does not bode well if the goal is justice. Another example, that rogue Judge Sullivan who refuses to grant a Motion to Dismiss by the prosecution in the Flynn case. Tell me with a straight face that decision is driven by a pursuit of justice. We all know it is nothing but political shenanigans with zero legal basis and yet, very very few speak out against this Judge in his attempt to undermine the job of the prosecution. The judiciary is a joke in that town.
I believe that there is more riding on Durham’s investigation than ever anticipated. The American people are extremely invested In the outcome of this investigation for we will learn once and for all if our justice system is irrevocably broken. Too much evidence has been released in the public square and people are informed. The documentation is damning and we are anticipating that our government will come through and put justice above the status of those involved. They must be treated equally under the law along with the founding principle that no one is above the law, no one. Right now we stand facing the ultimate test of those two truths. Either our founding principles will be upheld and justice will prevail or we will know that there is, indeed, a two tiered system in the country where the ruling class is treated very differently than the country class. The outcome of this investigation is monumental in that we will know without a doubt if our government is corrupt and beyond repair. It all boils down if the men tasked to uphold the Constitution and Rule of Law have the integrity and determination to do so. I pray that they do.

#19 wins post of the day!
If there are no indictments than there needs to be a nationwide call to disband the DBI and DOJ. The American people know what happened. If no one faces prosecution, it is time for all of them to go. Create new organizations to accomplish the goals and don't hire a single person from the existing FBI or DOJ.

Ironic that on the same day the NY Attorney General splashes Trump's taxes out for all to see, we hear that Durham's about to interview Brennan as part of his investigation, about which nothing will be known until after the election. To do otherwise would be political, don't you know.

As noted above, you interview the prime players last, AFTER you have the facts developed by investigation and interviews of underlings. What are you going to ask them with no facts developed? Their favorite colors? You walk them through the "crime" and get more facts, or lies - to square with what you know, or not.
As for the designated passenger under the bus...gotta be Comey of the headliners. He's already known dirty. Whoever it is will be well compensated.

Brennan is a masterful liar... he's lied to Americans and to congress and his family of thieves.... don't expect anything different.... I haven't convinced myself if he believes the muck coming out of his mouth or he's like Adolf Eichmann, the SS officer, who said about the killing of jews... he was only a soldier doing what he was ordered to do...

Note to Barr and Durham: Skip the "Report". We are already quite aware of the criminal conspiracy to take down our duly elected President. Reports and hearings are the DC way of slow-walking and sweeping this conspiracy under the rug. The more crimes to discuss, the longer they can hide the ball. We need indictments NOW. There is no requirement to finish the investigation before issuing indictments. (Re. Muehler Investigation.)

Well, you always wait to interview those at the top of the matter, after you've gathered tons of other information, and have had people flip.
Brennan is already on record, via the House Intelligence Committee hearings, as stating there was NO Russian collusion.
He'll need to explain why he did what he did, and what predicate he had to initiate the scheme.
Remember, if you want to truly get to the bottom of all of these things, vote in massive numbers to elect every Republican on every ballot. Get them the House Majority, and add to the Senate numbers, along with maintaining the White House. Don't let one issue or two make you stop or pause either. With the Majority they can ensure no one covers it up, they can resolve the matters, and also make sure the trade deals are followed through on.

I have a real problem with the notion that it is up to the target whether or not he has to sit for an interview. If they are as corrupt and crooked as Durham thinks they are, there should be no option other than 'you will sit for the interview or we will throw you into jail based on the evidence we already have'. That is how it should be, not giving the chance to dither and drag this out. The nation is tired of this game playing, and we want action.

Yes, the biggest fish are always interviewed/deposed/interrogated last. Deals have likely been made with smaller fish (like Sally Yates--ugh) in return for testimony against Brennan. He will be brought in, will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights, and will give little info other than his name and date of birth, etc.
But Durham will be pushing all sorts of incriminating evidence in front of Brennan and his attorneys, asking Brennan to respond to each bit of such evidence. This evidence will include sworn statements from the little fish. Brennan will feel the heat as he repeatedly invokes the 5th and sees who has rolled over against him. Since there's no way they'll be going after Obie, Brennan is unlikely to roll over on anyone higher up the food chain, except--perhaps--Val Jarrett, but Brennan is likely higher on the chain than she is.
This won't be a fun day for Brennan. At least he's paying upwards of $1,000/hour for his attorneys to sit there and repeatedly advise him to take the 5th. On the other hand, loads of multi-millionaire donor insiders (e.g., Hollywood) have likely ponied up to pay Brennan's attorneys' fees.

In my opinion, Mr Durham is thanklessly crawling over broken glass and occasionally chewing some so as to prepare solid cases against traitors to be tried successfully before DC juries. DC is a nest of seditious swine and a lawless cess pit. If you thought that the OJ verdict was a wretched travesty, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

In cases like this you generally interview your targets last after you have gathered all your evidence. You set a perjury trap that way as well. You need to know as much of the story as possible when you start questioning him and have actual charges in mind. Remember the goal is to get him to incriminate himself wittingly or unwittingly.

BTW taking the fifth in these interviews probably not a good idea. Brennan and his lawyers are going to want to know if he will be charged and what with. Durham does not have to lay out his case if Brennan is going to be a hard ass and not deal at all. If big John and his lawyer want to wait for the indictment and discovery to see Durhams hand that is their privilege but if I were him or his lawyer I'd want at least a look at what I am up against and a chance to possibly deal.
