The NBA promised a social justice message when they restarted their season, and they delivered. On Thursday night, every player and coach for the Jazz and Pelicans took a knee during the national anthem. In addition, every player wore a Black Lives Matter shirt. WATCH: (Tweet/Video) The NBA also endorsed the players’ protest by tweeting out video of the demonstration from the league’s official account.(Tweet/Video) Nearly every player wore a social justice message on their jerseys where their names usually go. Some messages read, “Freedom,” some said “Equality.”“Black Lives Matter” was emblazoned at the top of the court, directly above the NBA logo.

This reminds me of Rush, who after O'Mama was first elected, said the he hoped the new president failed. I am not neutral. I want all of these sports, all of which were American inventions and became enormous business successes, to fail - and spectacularly so.

I’ll know about these Kabuki actors only on news sites. I won’t watch any games; not even in restaurants or airports! That goes for all the sports. Even golf! (I have no idea if the U.S. Open was played or not as I write this. And I’m not going to bother looking it up).
The reason? I don’t want to see any BLM horsethit anywhere where some people could take advantage of cameras and go political!

These sports franchises would be nothing without the fans. Here’s your chance America to stand up for what is right. Their ability to make money depends on people watching, going to the games and buying merchandise. Make your voice heard. You have more power than you realize. Just sit back and watch these anti-American fools destroy themselves. Now that is entertainment!

I have never really cared for "bast@rd ball" so I am not giving up on anything dear to me by boycotting it, sadly for me I was looking forward to football, but it seems the "social justice weenies" are going to ruin it once again as well.
Perhaps what pushed bast@rd ball over the edge for me was my assignment as a remote cameraman for the old WNVT TV in DC...I was low man on the totem pole, so I was consistently assigned to cover the "sport"....hated it.
It was after becoming fed up with that job that I surrendered (didn't burn it) my draft card and embarked on my U.S. Army adventures.

I think it was Rush who recently recounted all the businesses that would be effected when customers drift after from a sport. Primarily, the networks, who make such a large proportion of their income from broadcasting sports. If no one watches, the advertisers are not going to make much money, and when the advertisers lose, the networks lose; and the vendors who sell all those products with teams' logos; and the little guys, the people selling hot dogs and beers in the stadium, and also the hotel and car rental businesses; and on and on. Just because someone plays a sport well doesn't mean people should accept their disrespect of our National Anthem. And if they find a country who treats them better and pays them more than the U.S., then they should move there. They can learn the words of their new country's national anthem.

What a treat, watching both pro black sports and hollywood going down the drain at the same time. The geniuses that run BLM actually thought they were improving things when they started the rioting. Maybe they can somehow make some money from the tattooed, green-haired white girls that joined their cause. I think 2020 can be saved after all, culminating in a big Trump victory at the end of the year.

Can't help but wonder if they're smarter than they look. It's quite possible that they've done their homework and determined that the people who are angry and boycott are not needed - just as the people who erupted in furor over Nike's support for Colon didn't harm their bottom line. The NBA is making a bundle off the the Chinese. The Chinese want America weakened. The NBA is obliging. At this point the most logical action is to remove the NBA-China connection in the USA and force them to relocate to China.

Why are sports teams only allowed to express leftist sentiments, and wear leftist insignia? Why are only blacks allowed to express their political opinions? Rather odd to have to hear billionaire owners and millionaire players tell us we need more equality. Then we have to hear that we need more diversity in our workplaces, but the NBA is 95% black, and based on merit, but merit is not allowed in our workplaces. The left never wants a debate, because they always do the opposite of what they tell us we need to do.

They are now longer sporting events. They are virtue signalling, political statements that just happen to have sporting goods associated with them. Get enough of that already. Will not purchase any of the products they advertise. Lots of alternatives usually much cheaper and not made by political prisoners like Nike.

Seems it is more important to them to be black than American. These guys have been coddled all their lives because they are tall and could handle a round ball. High schools and especially colleges fawned over them giving special privileges. The league treats them like celebrities. Too bad they never had an economics course in school.

Soros funded BLM has only put a hurtin' on the NFL. Like a little old man on the next street says, ''H'it don't make a damn no how.'' For the record, the NFL didn't have any convictions to be courageous about--only the money. As long as that trickles in, that's all that matters to them.

Yawn. Most folks enjoy sports as an escape from the oppression of 24/7 political posturing. Who's dumb enough to alienate 25% to 35% of your audience in the middle of a social distancing pandemic? At some point, BLM will lose its lustre/luster and those who were so eager to jump on its bandwagon will appear foolish--e.g., Pierre Delecto.

“The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously — after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important … so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be both ignorant and sub-literate every time he opens his mouth.”

I did some quick math regarding salaries in the NBA. I took the total salaries (without endorsements) and calculated that the NBA players could donate 99% of their salaries to black families. Each family would get roughly $1,750 per month. Guys like LaBron would still make $31,000 per month. Most everyone could live on that and the NBA players would be helping out and showing they really care about "black lives matter". Then we should get the NFL to do the same, since everyone is so concerned about BLM.
