The Ohio Board of Pharmacy reversed a ban on the use of hydroxychloroquine for treatment of coronavirus infections after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) asked for a reversal.“I agree with the statement from Dr. Steven Hahn, Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, that the decision about prescribing hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 should be between a doctor and a patient,” DeWine said in a statement. “Therefore, I am asking the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to halt their new rule prohibiting the selling or dispensing of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19.”

makes one question who the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is trying to help out. Banning a drug, which had little side effects, if any, instead of helping people who are sick get better. Would have to follow the money on this one to get an answer

The prescribing of drugs should be up to the physician not some group of pharmacists appointed by the governor.

Will wonders never cease? HCQ with zinc, and z-pak, as appropriate, is a lot more effective than HCQ alone.

What this whole hydroxychloroquine brouhaha really shows is that Ohio MDs got no cojones because if they did, they would order a big drum of the HCQ--which is quite inexpensive--from the wholesaler and dispense it from their offices and in the process, treat the patient, recover their own sovereignty and, best of all, deprive the arrogant pharmacists of the business. Problem solved. You're welcome.

In trivial matters like abortion the patient/doctor relationship prevails. But....in serious matters like dispensing old generic malaria drugs, the public can not be trusted.

a bit of history is important here. pharmacies became into being because many medications were compounded - remember the mortar ans pestle of the pharmacist? physicians made their own pills, using tiny forms like cupcake tins. (There are several instances on Gunsmoke where Doc Adams sits and makes pills in between gunshot surgery, delivery of babies, and treating sick horses and cows.) In modern times, pharmacists dispensed medications based on the written prescriptions. and if the prescription conflicted with other medications being taken, the pharmacist called the physician, and discretely had a conversation. but in my memory, pharmacists never decided on the proper prescription. In fact, the pharmacist would not know the diagnosis. This, in Ohio, turned into a power grab on the part of the Board of Pharmacy. and in a state that doesn't even require auto inspections, I don't trust them.

A small step in the right direction. We ought to be selling that stuff over the counter so that everyone can avoid this disease, not banning it.

The medical establishment has been forced to lie to the public before. Protecting the homosexual community by obscuring the fact HIV was a gay disease (except for (gay) blood donors) was a big con. Remember this one? https://www.amazon.com/Myth-Heterosexual-AIDS-Distorted-Partisan/dp/0895267292. I have taken HCLquin in the past. I agree with Lin Woods latest client the treatment regimen should be available over the counter.

In other words, the House committee that is supposed to be managing the crisis and coming one legislation to deal with it has had to spend its time fighting Jim Jordan and other members of the committee who have refused to wear masks as some sort of

The corporate and left-wing media has largely ignored details in newly released court documents about the Jeffrey Epstein case, in which one of Epstein’s victims alleged that former President Bill Clinton was seen on the deceased sex offender’s private island in the company of two young girls. Analysis by the nonpartisan bias-checker Ground News, which tracks coverage of news stories and assigns a “bias rating” to stories based on coverage or lack of coverage from partisan media, found that coverage of the story came mainly from right-wing outlets.Just five left and left-leaning sources have covered the story, compared to twenty-five right, right-leaning, or “far right” news

Political rallies are a thing of the past, at least this year. Conventions are not happening, not in any recognizable way at least. But this reality hasn’t stopped Democrats from having a slice of both, only it comes with a side of death. More accurately, death comes with an opportunity to have a rally or a convention-esque speech. It’s pretty sick, actually. There are states that have allowed their entire population fewer funerals with fewer attendees than either George Floyd or John Lewis had. Nothing against either man. I’m sure their families miss them dearly, but there are

On Aug. 1, 1945, 12-year-old Hideko Sudo went to bed fully clothed and full of worry. For days, air raid alerts had left the coastal city of Toyama on edge, prompting her school's closure. More alarmingly, earlier that day, American planes had rained down leaflets warning of an imminent attack. Hideko's fears proved well-founded. Despite a sophisticated alert system and a decade of air defense drills, the arrival just after midnight of a wave of B-29 bombers plunged Toyama into chaos. Superfortresses — 173 of them — encountered only sparse antiaircraft fire as they released around 1,500 tons of incendiaries onto the city's center.

President Trump seems determined to sow confusion and chaos ahead of the 2020 election. Laurence Tribe says the president is trying to make the election ‘look chaotic’ and mentions a ‘fail safe’: President Nancy Pelosi. "So, really, all of the efforts that Trump is making to both pretend that he can extend the date of the election, which everyone understands he can't do that. That date is set at November 3rd by act of Congress."
