The sheriff of a rural Nevada county has backtracked after initially telling the directors of a county library not to call 911 to report looting or violence at the facility if they came out publicly in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. “To support this movement is to support violence and to openly ask for it to happen in Douglas County,” Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley said in an open letter he sent to the Douglas County Public Library Board of Trustees earlier this week. “Due to your support of Black Lives Matter and the obvious lack of support or trust with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office,

The first sentence says he "backtracked". And the article says "On Tuesday, Coverley backed off after meeting with library director Amy Dodson, noting that his office would indeed respond if called."

The sheriff’s statement on BLM was all true and a breath of fresh air, but then he meets with Amy and caves in to her demands. Why??

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield has confirmed that, despite claims otherwise from the left, there is indeed a “perverse incentive” for hospitals to overcount their coronavirus deaths by falsely attributing unrelated deaths to the virus. Asked during a House Oversight and Reform hearing Friday to comment on what Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, a Republican, described as a “perverse incentive for medical folks to claim that somebody died of COVID versus an automobile accident, for instance,” Redfield admitted that the congressman had a point. CNN activist Jake Tapper got triggered when President Trump briefly spoke to a small group of supporters who had gathered on the tarmac at the Tampa, Florida airport to greet him. Tapper fumed on Twitter: “Trump holds event with Florida supporters at Tampa airport, with little distancing or mask-wearing.” President Trump responded by noting that the gathering was not a rally (otherwise there would’ve been a larger crowd), but a small group of Florida law enforcement officers who were there to greet him. “Jake, this wasn’t a Trump Rally, but rather a very successful gathering of the great Sheriffs and Law Enforcement (of Florida) who gave me their unequivocal ENDORSEMENT,” Trump tweeted.

Explosive unsealed court documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein/Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking investigation have caused #BillClintonIsAPedo to trend on Twitter Sunday, making it the top item in the politics category on the social media network. Most media outlets have ignored the revelations, which would be massive headline news if a past or present Republican president was implicated in the allegations. Twitter users jumped on the Epstein-Clinton connection, however, particularly in the context of the media trying to bury the story because it reflects poorly on Clinton specifically and Democrats generally. Some Twitterville voices initially claimed the platform was trying to suppress or throttle the trend,

Oh what a difference a week makes. Let us take a walk down memory lane with respect to the love affair between Antifa/BLM and the elected Democrat establishment of Oregon and Portland. Just nine days ago, on July 23 I covered Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s foray to the frontlines of the rioting between Antifa/BLM and the federal law enforcement agents left alone by the state and local politicians to defend the Hatfield Federal Courthouse in downtown Portland which was being attacked nightly by rioters operating without interference out of public parks just across the street. Noteworthy was the fact that Mayor Wheeler wasn’t treated with much respect by the rioters,

President Trump has been speaking out against mail-in voting for weeks now. Democrats know it is easier to cheat and steal votes when a state moves to mail-in voting. It’s the reason Nevada Democrats on Saturday passed mail-in voting and ballot harvesting in their special session just 97 days before the national election. They know it’s easier to cheat that way. President Trump posted this video earlier this week that shows how corrupt and flawed the mail-in voting process is in America today. [Video] But Marco Rubio sided with Democrats today. During a phone call with President Trump Marco told listeners he was not concerned about mail-in voting in Florida.

How many tens of thousands of Americans must die because of Dr. Fauci’s mistakes? It is becoming more and more apparent with each new day and as more information is accumulated that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, the CDC and the FDA failed in their response to the China Coronavirus. Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx pushed a completely fraudulent Imperial College study to lockdown and destroy the greatest economy in US history. Dr. Anthony Fauci has made at least 15 critical mistakes and contradictions since the start of the pandemic in March. Perhaps Dr. Fauci’s most deadly mistake is his response to hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) treatments for the disease.

During the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein citizen Donald Trump’s name came up. The FBI attempted over and over to tie the famous New York developer to misconduct, but to no avail. Per a review of documents released last night in the Jeffrey Epstein case, the FBI tried to tie the now deceased pedophile to citizen Donald Trump but were unable to do so. The FBI failed to drag Trump into the Epstein mess. But they sure tried. One of the abused victims mentioned that Donald Trump was a good friend of Epstein’s.

Former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of President Trump, found out he had been blocked from accessing his classified notes and records while working on his new memoir. He writes in his forthcoming book, Undaunted: My Fight Against America’s Enemies, at Home and Abroad, that after months of "haggling" he discovered the CIA was abiding by the directive Trump gave in August 2018 "that purportedly forbids anyone in the intelligence community from sharing classified information with me." Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell knows Republicans in his chamber are going to face tough campaigns this year to hold on to their majority in November. "We've got a lot of seats to defend all over the country, and in about seven or eight places, it’s like a knife fight in an alley already, and we very much understand the Senate could go either way," McConnell said Wednesday on Fox News's The Story with Martha MacCallum. McConnell's comments come as a new analysis by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report shows a bleak outlook for several GOP senators who are losing ground to their Democratic challengers.

Warning: Some Strong Language. [Video] The United States is being sold as an oppressive nation by a party that’s dependent on identity politics to survive, and that false image is being absorbed as the truth by too many young people in this country — even though it flies in the face of the reality that people across the world continue to risk their very lives just to make it to our border.

President Trump seems determined to sow confusion and chaos ahead of the 2020 election. Laurence Tribe says the president is trying to make the election ‘look chaotic’ and mentions a ‘fail safe’: President Nancy Pelosi. "There is a procedure -- it's a very elaborate procedure -- in every state for resolving disputes by the date of the so-called safe harbor on December 8th," Tribe explained. "So, really, all of the efforts that Trump is making to both pretend that he can extend the date of the election, which everyone understands he can't do that. That date is set at November 3rd by act of Congress."

On Aug. 1, 1945, 12-year-old Hideko Sudo went to bed fully clothed and full of worry. For days, air raid alerts had left the coastal city of Toyama on edge, prompting her school's closure. More alarmingly, earlier that day, American planes had rained down leaflets warning of an imminent attack. Hideko's fears proved well-founded. Despite a sophisticated alert system and a decade of air defense drills, the arrival just after midnight of a wave of B-29 bombers plunged Toyama into chaos. Superfortresses — 173 of them — encountered only sparse antiaircraft fire as they released around 1,500 tons of incendiaries onto the city's center.

Former national security adviser Susan Rice would be a “human lightning rod” if selected to be Democrat Joe Biden’s running mate, a Washington Post columnist wrote Friday. Rice, who is reported to be among shrinking list of Biden vice presidential contenders, has the advantage of a longstanding close relationship with Biden, unlike any of the other names on the list. But Biden's want for “familiarity and comfort” are luxuries the nation doesn’t have time for in this singular time of crisis, Post columnist Dana Milbank writes. Despite Rice’s impressive resume -- Rhodes scholar, Oxford, U.N ambassador, national security adviser -- she has serious Benghazi baggage

Those of us silly enough to get excited about this stuff suffered a major letdown this weekend when Joe Biden’s campaign announced that Biden would not announce his vice presidential running mate on Saturday, but would instead wait another week or longer. Originally set for August 1, the announcement now won’t come before August 10, according to the New York Post. Biden’s pick is going to be a woman unless Biden breaks his vow from last March, and she’s probably going a “woman of color.” Given the realities of the American political landscape, that’s a short list of potential running mates. Biden had apparently narrowed
