San Francisco Giants pitcher Sam Coonrod refused to kneel during the national anthem Thursday night against the Dodgers.According to NBC Sports, members of the Giants took a knee during the national anthem, and Coonrod didn’t join them. Every member of both teams also kneeled before the anthem. The pitcher also didn’t participate in that action. The reason why? His Christian faith. (Tweet) “I’m a Christian, like I said, and I just can’t get on board with a couple of things that I have read about Black Lives Matter. How they lean toward Marxism and they’ve said some negative things about the nuclear family.

Good for you, Sam. Hopefully your organization will stand by you and defend you against the inevitable smears you will hear. But maybe hat's too much to expect from anything associated with San Francisco, a city that let Kate Steinle die without justice just to appeal to the voter's baser instincts.

With a surname like Coonrod, I'm amazed BLM hasn't been after him to change it, and calling it/him racist.

I am surprised and a bit disappointed there weren’t more believers than just ONE man! Where did all these “Christian” athletes who got together for prayer and Bible study go? The testing fire in the crucible apparently got a little too hot!

Memo to self: Stop watching any teams whose players disrespect our flag and anthem.
Praise to the lone patriot, Sam Coonrod.

Eric Harley and Gary Macnamara host Red Eye Radio out of Dallas From midnight tp 5:00 AM 5 days a week. It’s basically geared for truckers but is big on politics. These two were staunch sports followers of all sports - last night, thanks to the Commie BLM they have stopped watching ALL sports - they are done.

Coonrod didn't refuse to kneel. He just didn't kneel. Good for him.
@#1 - The Giants Organization is fully behind BLM and 'social justice'. There is no way their newly hired manager would kneel unless given the thumbs up by management. As a lifetime Bay Area resident, the Giants have been my go to baseball team but I am appalled by this display of reverence for BLM, SJ and siding with the Rage Mob for no reason other than for want of being one of the cool kids. Ask any Giant kneeler why they do it and you'll get the pat answer - 'we support black people and are against police brutality' - blah blah blah. I have lost all respect for them and will not patronize their games in person or on television.

God bless him! There have to be more of US than them; it just doesn't seem like it sometimes. Coonrod brings US encouragement and optimism.

We are an upside down world for criticizing Kaepernick for kneeling during our National Anthem to criticizing Coonrod for not kneeling.

There's an old joke about a wealthy man who picked up the newspaper to see his vast holdings of stocks had become worthless overnight and he said to his mistress, "Honey, would you still love me if I were poor?" to which she replied, "Oh, of course I would, sweetheart. But I'd miss you." So to my kneeling Giants, I still love you but I'm going to miss you.

The rest of didn't kneel because they love blacks but because they are afraid of blacks. Shame on them.

Dodger’s latest “star”, little Mookie Betts, knelt during the National Anthem. When he came up for his first at-bat as a Dodger, I put a hex on him and he struck out. Ta-dah.

He did not have to kneel. But because he did not kneel, he will be fired.
Not being with the narrative has that effect.
And BLM is not affiliated with Marxism. BLM has its source in Marxism.
And kneeling brings to mind the story of Daniel, and of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego. You can look them up in the book of Daniel in the Old Testament of the Bible. They refused to eat the food offered to idols. The Jewish youths did not do so badly. The appearance of the fourth person in the dreadful fiery furnace was amazing.
So Coonrod may not play much baseball in the future, but he sure has a future as an evangelist!

As a (and probably only few of) conservative resident in the SF Bay Area, I always follow the Giants and Oakland As. As of this week, will no longer be a Giants fan. If the As follow suit with kneeling, I'll have to find another MLB to root for, or stop watching MLB altogether.
Progressivism kills every thing that it touches. It tears down, and never builds up or replaces with anything even approaching sanity.

I'm disgusted with MLB. America's past time with BLM printed on the mound did it. The numb nuts owners swallowed the BS BLM crap, hook, line, and sinker. They even pressured players to put a BLM patch on their uniforms. Somebody needs to sit these idiots down and explain that BLM is a Marxist political movement bent on making the U.S. a communist country. The BLM speakers have made that plain and simple and have said it. BLM doesn't give a rat's rear end about black people.
