New York—Major League Baseball players have the option of having a patch with “Black Lives Matter” or “United For Change” on a jersey sleeve on opening day of the pandemic-delayed season, and Washington Nationals pitcher Sean Doolittle says his team may is considering whether to take a knee in support Thursday night.(Snip) Teams have the option of stenciling an inverted MLB logo with “BLM” or “United for Change” on the back of the pitcher’s mound during opening weekend games. Washington opted for the MLB/MLB stencil. “It's freedom of speech. It's the Bill of Rights. It’s what the country's founded on,

Well, MLB players, congratulations. You went the way of the nba and nfl and found a way to ruin the game. Enjoy playing in front of those empty seats and with that fake crowd noise. Wonder how long it will be before the owners say - guys, sorry about that but, we went into Chapter 7 bankruptcy and had to liquidate the team and its assets, and your contracts are null and void.

I was never a big baseball fan, so my boycotting them won't have any effect, but I won't be the only one, and plenty of fans will stay away.
Weren't sports supposed to be an escape from real life, and especially politics. Now these millionaires are preaching to the middle class fans who pay their salaries - tickets, broadcast rights, etc. that they are better than them. Sports is a discretionary expense. Discerning fans will walk away and spend their dollars else where. It already happened to the NFL; but as far as I'm concerned, too little, too late.

Will it be racism when all those "Blacks" in MLB and the NFL lose their jobs because there are no more fans?

I am ok getting the new woke sports out of my life. I would rather watch a repeat of a 1960's game than the new woke games. I have already fired the tv networks, and cable tv. Now I suffer from having politicians more involved in my life than ever, and I would like to get them out of my life, and out of my business. I voted for fiscal budgets, and smaller government, and now it is worse than ever.

Ok then I am going to serve economic justice on MLB and quit buying fan swag, going to games and watching them on TV.

Once they cross that line, there’s no going back to the way things were. They can get religion and repent in sackcloth and ashes, but it’ll never be the same again. That whole generation will have to die off and a new class of players will take their places, hopefully not to repeat this stupidity.

Why? MLB has maybe 10% black players with the dominant group being Dominican. I have not been much of a fan for a few years because the teams that spend the most (Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees...) dominate and small market teams get rich over revenue sharing from TV. This is the kiss of death. Over and out!

The NFL, NBA, and MLB should write a book: "How To Alienate Your Fans and Kill Your Livelihood"

I've never been to a regular season baseball game that had a large crowd. Every sport is being destroyed by evil leftism, and highly paid athletes are ruining their livelihoods. Do they think they'll be able to rebuild under a marxist society? What? I don't get it.

I’d rather watch paint dry. If BLM was a legit organization that actually cared about black life then it would be worth being noted, but it’s not.

Instead of standing up against mob rule the management of MLB is caving. As the vast majority of MLB fans are not in league with this mob, MLB management is in effect saying "We don't care what the fans want, We will take the easy road so long as the TV revenues keep flowing our way." In the long run this mind set may be the biggest mistake ever made by MLB.

There goes baseball down the same drain as NFL and NBA. Don't any of these people like their careers? The last game I attended was in Montreal decades ago so I guess that will be my very last - ever.

Wearing a Black Lives Matter patch is no different than wearing a Communist hammer and sickle. Anyone who does not know this is just ignorant.

I quit watching baseball after the White Sox won the world series--figured once in a lifetime is all they are good for. The players actions of late certainly is not going to draw me back.

I won't be singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame and keep your peanuts and Cracker Jacks. I loved baseball but when they take a knee and wear BLM cop killer patches it's over for me. It looks like all the overpaid sports teams are committing suicide.
Adios amigos.

Just think of the peer pressure these players are getting. I hope some are strong enough to resist wearing these stupid virtue signals, but I know most will wear them and I won't be watching.

When fans are permitted to attend games, will they be allowed to exercise their freedom of speech too by wearing MAGA masks or an "All Lives Matter" t-shirts?

They say the country is founded on the right of obscenely overpaid athletes to tell their audience to go to hell while congratulating themselves on being woker than the slobs who pay their salaries. And guess what? It's a two-way street.
