The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board on Wednesday night voted to limit the homeless tent camps that have sprung up across the city's parks, including the two sprawling encampments in Powderhorn Park. The unanimous vote sets boundaries to a previous resolution passed by parks leaders a month ago that allowed the homeless to stay overnight in parks in response to the growing Powderhorn encampments.(Snip) Before Wednesday's vote, dozens of residents complained at the Park Board meeting about the homeless encampments, arguing the parks had become dangerous for visitors, surrounding neighbors and the campers themselves. They said they had become the site of constant drug

San Francisco is paying to house them in hotels and paying for free delivery of alcohol and marijuana. Better get with the program Minneapolis.

Precisely. They voted.
Now, the nice tent people will leave peacefully and clean up and make any necessary repairs.
No? They won’t leave?
Maybe the mayor can ask them nicely ...or one of the nice city council people. Since there are no police to help y’all.
Let us know how it goes.

They're making room for the little kids to play jump rope and hopscotch. Very commendable.
I just hope with all that jumping and hopping - - the kiddies don't land on used hypodermic needles.

Just out of curiosity, since they have defunded the police, who exactly is going to enforce their edicts ? When you think about it, a city with no police force has no need for a governing body.

Yep, read the fine print...From 5000 to 4999. The odd man out will sneak back in after a few hours and the Lefty Idiots can 'claim victory'. Nothing new here, typical Liars and Thieves in the same room!

It may be unpleasant but a learned person pointed out that the ammonia from human effluvium is often breathed in and out by homeless persons day after day, night after night. The noxious chemical actually degrades and/or dissolves brain tissue, meaning persons lying around in their own filth and that of others are losing what minimal faculties they have. Cities that encourage, ignore, coddle or otherwise fail to disperse such encampments are intentionally endangering the people they claim to protect along with those who have to walk or drive past the eyesores.

Reduce size? How about shut down and run the bums off? Even with fewer numbers, the citizens that they swore to protect still have to face drugs, prostitution, noise and harassment that the stupid park board has apparently legalized.
Isn't "powderhorn" a racist term since only the cruel white men carried them and "unfairly" fought the indigenous people who only had bows and arrows.

They aren't parks any more. They are progressive neighborhoods. No need for a ''Park Board.'' Defund the Park Board.

To quote newspaper opinion writer Howie Carr, "Anything you subsidize, you are guaranteed to get more of. The only reason these Tent Cities exist is to give layabouts easy access to Government Handouts and Drugs.

You can trace all of this back to when Mario the Pious, Father of Prince Andrew and Fredo, closed down all and cleared out all of the mental institutions in New York. He created the homeless problem with that act. All the other Governors that followed created the nation wide problem.

Next they should try a "strongly worded letter" followed up by "How dare you's!" while giving them dirty looks. Or is that racisssssss these days? Forgive my unwillingness to keep up with the latest insanity.

It beggars belief on how liberal citizens can be so completely ignorant of the lifestyle these homeless people lead. When confronted by the indolence, fifth and lawlessness they express surprise and demand yet more tax-supported government involvement to solve a problem that will never be solved as long as our policies begin with enablement of the very behavior we wish to eradicate.

I suppose the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is going to do it themselves since Minneapolis is reducing the funding for their police force.

I learned that from living in the SF Bay Area.

Bde Moga Ska is home to liberals so stupid that they should not be allowed to vote. They proudly welcomed the homeless to live in their neighborhood park, but now they whine about the violence, sexual assaults, vandalized cars, constant drug use, gunplay, general lawlessness, and litter, saying they no longer feel safe in the park or in the streets. Did they expect anything different?
