House Democrats reacted furiously to President Trump’s Friday move to commute the prison sentence of political operative Roger Stone -- demanding an investigation and even legislation to stop similar commutations happening again.“President Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of top campaign advisor Roger Stone, who could directly implicate him in criminal misconduct, is an act of staggering corruption,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement on Saturday. She went on to promise that Congress would “take action” to prevent future such commutations:

Again the Democrats want to spend time and money scrutinizing what Trump constitutionally does. In the meantime, their political base continues to destroy the country with their blessing.

I thought the President had the power to commute anyone convicted of a federal crime? If so, why the hissy fit about another investigation? Every president has pardoned or commuted people we might not agree with but they had the right to do it. He has the authority to do this like it or not. I wish someone would glue Pelosi's mouth shut with Super Glue.

Trump does not care about their investigations, nor does Trump supporters, who intend to re-elect him in November.

Funny the absence of outrage and the silence the Democrats didn't register when both Obama and Billy boy pardoned friends, financial contributors, and out and out criminals.

Hmmm - “legislation” to supersede the Constitution? Good luck, although they did get away with it, at least for a while with Obamacare.

More pointless bloviating by the dems. It would take a Constitutional amendment to limit the president's pardon power because it is the Constitution that gives it to him.
Of course ANY presidential action can be effectively restricted by impeaching and convicting a president who did it, even if it was completely legal. That requires a Congress who completely opposes the president to begin with and is willing to set aside law and tradition to vote to impeach for no good reason. That's what the House dems did last year but they had nowhere near the 2/3 Senate votes needed. A majority of a party willing to a attack a president of their own party is suicidal.

So the Dems would rather create another political stunt than actually investigate the report from the Chinese whistleblower virologist that is risking her life to report how China intentionally covered up the spread of COVID and cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of American lives. How much money have they and their minions in the press actually received from the CCP?

At least they're not passing laws we'll regret in the future. Don't the Dumb Dems realize they're setting precedents for any incoming House of Representatives?

"Legislation" Yeah, the only thing that will change the President's unfettered power of pardon is to change the Constitution, since it is directly created therein.
Zero chance of that.
Pound sand, Dems.

I have a feeling there are MANY people who are as sick and tired as I am of watching this bunch of preening, bloviating windbags spend our tax dollars on MORE “investigations” into PDJT. That’s all they have done since the man became POTUS. As #10 said the best to come of it is less passage of harmful legislation. I am exhausted from them, and from all of their shenanigans. I just want rid of them and all of their rioting minions. I don’t like to wish even one precious day of life away, but November can’t come soon enough. May enough people stand for God and may He have mercy on us.

Sure investigate the criminal misconduct and corruption that put Roger Stone in the political cross hairs of the anti-American anti-Democrat party the first place.

Hey senile nancy, the power to pardon comes from the Constitution and the speaker cannot just declare changes to it. Sorry hon, have another glass of prune juice.
