Gandhi statue under fire at Fresno State

Officials at California State University-Fresno are facing increasing pressure to remove a statue on campus depicting the late Indian freedom leader Mahatma Gandhi. “How will the historian teach and explain that Gandhi was uncharitable in his attitude towards the Black race and see that we are glorifying him by erecting a statue on our campus?” asks a Change.org petition, which is nearing 5,000 signatures. “Gandhi was deeply prejudiced against all minorities, from black Africans, Jews, to low-caste Hindus,” it states. “He also demonstrated a shocking lack of morality, from sleeping naked with young girls to employing nonviolence merely as a tool

Comments:

Scattershot rules of engagement. Gandhi was not bLACK, nor did he shine the shoes of a bLACK person, as Woke-Fil-A would have us do, so he has to go. On the other hand, MLK (who has a statue nearly) also demonstrated a shocking lack of morality in enabling at least one rape, cheating on his wife with white prostitutes whom he also liked to knock around, plagiarizing his doctoral thesis, and whatever else the FBI keeps in its sealed files, so MLK also needs to go, unless the bLACK part trumps all. Yep I have it on good authority ( the government of South Africa ) that Ghandi was a racist SOB and probably a sexual predator because (look at the pictures) nobody at Fresno State in their right mind would want to sleep with him. Oh please, where did all the sane people go ???

What ever happened to "Celebrate Cultural Diversity?" Maybe Gandhi was just expressing the acceptable more's of his culture, especially that "young girls" stuff.

Emory & Henry College in Virginia has announced to students the school will re-examine its wasp mascot. Why? The bug may appear “exclusive” to students who are not White Anglo-Saxon Protestants, or “WASPs.” While a public outcry over racism continues around the nation, the college is already concerned that its two historical namesakes—Methodist Episcopal Church bishop John Emory and founding father Patrick Henry—were slave holders. The school mascot has also come under scrutiny. “Conversations must examine how Emory & Henry’s past has contributed to current and ongoing systemic oppression,” said Dr. John Wells, president of Emory & Henry College, according to the

That does not represent our great city, and we will no longer live in the shadow of our ugly past,” said Mayor Ginther. “Now is the right time to replace this statue with artwork that demonstrates our enduring fight to end racism and celebrate the themes of diversity and inclusion.”
