In my last article, "The Advancing Nihilism and the Rot of Post-Modernism in the West," I submitted that the culture wars taking place in the streets and universities across the United States and parts of Europe were symptoms of a larger moral pandemic whose philosophic roots both spawned and legitimized anarchical impulses run amok.

I had to read it twice, but it was worth it. Serious, frightening and, forgive me, enlightening. If you want to combat the Cancel Culture, you need to arm yourself with why America was founded the way it was. Why is it important that man should be big and government small, not the other way around.

Brilliant job, and if you don't have to go back on it again you are good. I think he believes "Post Modern Nihilism" is the guiding principle today, as if nihilism is guided. Basically saying that the Enlightenment REASON that found America is gone. Nothing about hipster anarchy, evil delusion and last days' apostasy -- and how to restore and revive us. The comments following Hill's article are non-pareil for any thread I have ever seen. Amazing.

So, how do we overcome the wide ranging silencing of our philosophy? It’s one thing to say that our adversaries are easily felled once we inoculate ourselves agains this post modern nihilism, but in a society where you can lose your job, your family, your friends, and your life by speaking this truth, how do we truly achieve this? There is no united front. There is no political party spearheading the effort. There is no tea party. There is no organized measured response to this mob. No heroes (other than President Trump and SOME others in his administration) out at the front lines. Are we waiting for true heroes to emerge? This article lays out important philosophical foundations but doesn’t give us much more than that.

It seems fine to me, as far as it goes, but the article doesn't go far enough.
The ideals of the Enlightenment, and the ideals of the Founding Fathers, did not spring from nothing. They did not arise from all people, but rather a certain people, people who had been steeped in ideas that were promulgated in the Ten Commandments and the idea that humans are made in the image of God. Reason does not take you there, if it did humanity would have a very different past.
The basis for the moral foundation of the West lies squarely with Christianity.
In many ways, the Enlightenment helped to weaken the bonds that make for a cohesive moral outlook.
Go back a little further, Mr. Hill. Reason and faith, Athens and Jerusalem, are competing ideas that must remain in balance, otherwise this ensuing chaos is what you get.

A somewhat long and serious read, but worth it at this crisis point in our lives and time.
