‘Master’ no longer used to
describe bathrooms and bedrooms
by Houston real estate group

These bedrooms and bathrooms are nobody’s master. Earlier this month, the Houston Association of Realtors dropped the word “master” for specification, opting for “primary” as a more inclusive descriptor. “The Multiple Listing Service advisory group regularly reviews the terms and fields used in the MLS to make sure they are consistent with the current market environment,” read an association statement. “The updates to primary bedroom and primary bath were among nine requests for review that were submitted by members and considered at the most recent meetings.”(Snip) Dietrich von Biedenfeld, a business professor at the University of Houston, noted that the historic master/slave plantation dynamic

Comments:

Know what's really not inclusive? Properties that would sell for $200K in one place that instead sell for more than $1 million elsewhere simply because the latter are in "desirable" areas with incredibly high real estate taxes and thus minimal Diversity, which is a perfectly legal way to keep the rabble away seeing how freedom of association is illegal. Just watch; Housing Fairness is just around the corner in our Great Leap Forward.

Some people have asked this question pertaining to other things but the question is how come none of this was brought up during the eight years Obama was president.? Wasn't a problem then but it's a big problem now? How come? Master is a slave term but it wasn't from 2008 to 2016. Aunt Jemima made great pancakes, Mrs. Butterworth was terrific maple syrup to put on those pancakes, Gone With The Wind was a classic book and film, The Masters golf tournament was the crown jewel of golf. Recently won by Tiger Woods. Abraham Lincoln, U.S. Grant and others are suddenly bad history. Not so during Obama's presidency. Gee I wonder what the problem is now? I'll have to think that one over for a while.

That's a very stupid thing to do, but so is all the rest of the PC derangement. In the case of housing, and some other things, ''Master'' does not refer to a person, it refers to the ''primary'' bathroom or bedroom. IOW, the one normally occupied by the owner. Silly liberals....

They tried this in the past in the electronics industry too, where we had "Master" and "Slave" systems. Nothing ever worked as well as those terms to succinctly describe the system, so the whiny objections of the leftists were ignored. Same was true of use of the word "Jig" as a tool for creating multiple identical parts. The leftists wanted that removed from the lexicon also. That fell by the wayside, as well. It's difficult to police the entire country.

Just think about what the blacks have been complaining about for years and years, decades and decades, a lack of INCLUSION. So now here they are pretending they are offended by a black person's image on a box of food or a healthcare product label and begin erasing themselves, even from products that have no relation to slavery, abuse or derogatory representation. So are they staying on-target of their original complaint or have they forgotten because the democrats are using them like a tool and managed to "nudge" them into this new, completely opposite way of thinking? It's hypocrisy galore. Having a black person's image on a box of food never stopped me from purchasing it before but he changes will, now.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday struck down a Louisiana law regulating abortion clinics, reasserting a commitment to abortion rights over fierce opposition from dissenting conservative justices in the first big abortion case of the Trump era. Chief Justice John Roberts joined with his four more liberal colleagues in ruling that the law requiring doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals violates the abortion right the court first announced in the landmark Roe v. A stretch of lackluster polling for President Trump has some Republican operatives nervous about the president’s reelection prospects in November – with some even floating the possibility for the first time that Trump could drop out if his poll numbers don’t rebound. “It’s too early, but if the polls continue to worsen, you can see a scenario where he drops out,” one GOP operative who asked to remain anonymous told Fox News. “I’ve heard the talk but I doubt it’s true,” another said. “My bet is, he drops if he believes there’s no way to win.”    Correction*

Conservatives were outraged eight years ago when Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts voted with the liberals on the court to uphold Obamacare's individual mandate. His swing almost singlehandedly saved the Affordable Care Act. A few years removed and he made a few better decisions, somewhat appeasing conservatives. But last year he helped kill the census citizenship question. Then, last week, he voted with liberals to reject President Trump's attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The court didn't say that Trump couldn't reverse the program, but that his legal reasoning wasn't up to par.

Wade decision in 1973. In two previous abortion cases, Roberts had favored restrictions. The Louisiana law is virtually identical to one in Texas that the court struck down in 2016.

Sidney Powell, attorney for retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, said her client, in his duties as the White House national security adviser, was prepared to “audit” the U.S. intelligence community. That, according to the former federal prosecutor, is partly why federal agents “set up” Flynn. Powell, who took over Flynn’s defense last summer, told the “Vickie McKenna Show” on 1310 WIBA Madison that her client was “totally set up” because he threatened to expose wrongdoing by top intelligence officials in the Obama administration.
