500,000 people created accounts on the social media platform Parler after Twitter banned two conservative accounts Tuesday. Parler’s user base increased by 50% this week, bringing the total number of users to over 1.5 million, Mediaite reported Thursday.
The surge comes after Twitter permanently banned the account of Carpe Donktum, and locked the account of The National Pulse Editor-In-Chief Raheem Kassam. Both accounts, which were locked Tuesday, have over 200,000 followers. Conservatives, who were already frustrated with Twitter for what they say is arbitrary and unfair banning of right-wing accounts, flocked to Parler after the two accounts were suspended.

Make that 500,001.
When Trump leaves twitter and the stock drops 50% the management may get a clue.

I ''deactivated'' my Twitter account, that I never used any way. I couldn't find a way to terminate it. I suppose that way they can still count my account when they represent the number of accounts to prospective, and current, advertisers.
Dear advertisers: I am not there any more, no matter what Twitter says!

There is nothing 'necessary' about Twitter.

I signed onto Parler yesterday, but I don’t know how to use it since I never twittered either. Oh well.

Parler requires a cell phone.
My only cell phone is work-issued, and company policy specifically forbids registering or using social media on our phones (just like a lot of people).
So, I guess that's a "no" for me and a lot of people.

Step 2. Get off Facebook. Permanently. Leftists comprehend ONLY two things: money and power. Just do it.

Well, it would be cool if lots more folks left Twitter.
A well known writer friend is amazed that a techie guy like me is entirely unconnected with ALL "social media", and I tell him that I don't want to be subject to their controls, and I have zero desire for publicity. One friend says I should have a blog....but I am not interested in that either.
I am perfectly happy expressing myself here, thanks.

Parler needs serious work, It's really clunky. Twitter is a leftwing sewer. Don't swim there.

If Parler turns into a true alternative to Twitter, I might sign up but if it's Gab2.0, I'll pass.

I'm on twitter and unlike most right thinking people I enjoy going there. It's so different from facebook. I signed up for Parler but find it difficult to use.

FAR: ''I'm on Parler. They could improve their format.''
I'm sure they will, as more people sign up and advertising revenue increases. Dump Twitter. Even a new, clunky format is better than Twitter!

Inquiring minds want to know: What happens to TWITTER when most of their users, rejecting the censorship of LIBERAL GATEKEEPERS, leave Twitter for FREER pastures?
Liberal social media WILL pay attention when it affects their income, or they will disappear.
Buh-bye.

I'm like #10. I have never been on any social media sites, never felt any desire to sign up for them. I value my privacy too much and I despise leftists telling me what I can and cannot say. My LCom account is plant for me to keep up with.
