PHOENIX — Coronavirus pandemic or not, an investment advisory company is leaving the cultural unrest in Seattle and moving its headquarters to Phoenix’s Camelback Corridor.
” … The unrest that has taken place in the city of Seattle … there is really is not a downtown business community today,” Smead Capital Management, President and CEO Cole Smead told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Smead said that although taxes in Seattle are lower, candidate recruitment is harder and the cost of living within the city is more expensive than Phoenix.

Not to worry. Black Lives Matter and Antifa can step in and fill the void left by the real Americans who are fleeing.

Don't blame them one bit. I hope more move out. The mayor did stupid things by not putting those thugs out and is reaping the consequences

How long will they last in Phoenix, though?

Life not so good in CHAZ/CHOP land? It is amazing that the lesson of hollowed out communities after riots has not been learned by now. The lesson has been retaught many times over decades. Either Leftists are slow learners or they just don't care. I suspect it is because they don't care. Their agenda is chaos, anger, violence, and destruction because that allows them to insert unexamined actions into public discourse. The residual damage? Who cares? They moved their chess pieces forward on the board and that is all that matters to them.
What is tragic is the communities that keep supporting the Leftists that are doing them the most damage and return them nothing. Meanwhile they scorn those who present them opportunities because the opportunity isn't a payoff but instead requires a lifetime of work. They also don't understand that a significant amount of the lack of respect they may perceive is because of their behaviors and economic class, NOT their race. When you act as a low class thug, you will be perceived that way for a long time going forward. If instead, they seized the opportunities presented, their behaviors would be appreciated and their economic class would rise. Yes, sadly there will still be some racists but they diminish every generation and they are caged in with law and mounting president and social understanding. Alternatively, rioting NEVER builds respect. It may create temporary fear but nothing of permanence.

Dear Jenny Durkan,
By the time I get to Phoenix you'll be rising,
and you'll find a note I left hanging on your door.
You'll laugh when you read the part that says I'm leaving,
'cause you didn't believe I'd really go, oh no.
I hate to leave you, Jenny, I really do.
But this business of mine just can't take no more.
Love & kisses,
Smead Capital Management, President & CEO Cole Smead
(with apologies to Jimmy Webb)

Liberal mayors like Jenny are economic illiterates. They avoided talking anything hard in college, such as Econ 101.

Terrible article. What is the name of the company ? How many employees ? And LASTLY, it is NOT a Billion dollar company, that is the gross $ assets under management. How do people who cannot write a coherent article get jobs ?

I have to wonder why a supposedly intelligent person, like CEO Smead, would relocate to somewhere with higher taxes and a higher cost of living than where he's leaving. It tells me he's too liberal to admit the liberal philosophy is wrong and relocate to a low tax, conservative state/city.

And so the Seattle leaving begins. You can bet that a whole lot of other people will be doing the same.
The problem is that most will be bringing their leftist ideas and leftist voting patterns with them, polluting other places.

#11, the article said Phoenix taxes were higher, but cost of living is lower. The CEO also said Phoenix was more conducive to raising a family, which sounds like conservative values to me.

My prediction is all the Democrat mayors and governors will do nothing before the election because they want Trump to take the heat. I also believe that this is what is being advised to them by DNC election consultants.

They are right about the cost of living in Seattle. High as a cat's backside it is. Plus, liberals run everything into the ground.

Smart move. Other Seattle firms should follow suit, including the almighty Amazon, since the mayor and governor have created an unstable atmosphere in which no business can have expectations of safety and a business friendly atmosphere. Show these clowns just how bad their leadership really is. Amazon's web page still displays the proud message that they are gulping the Kool-Aid by the gallon and I imagine it will take a sharp drop in sales to show them the error of their ways. I will do my best to help.

This is exactly how inner city ghettos are created. Violence and disorder cause businesses and ordinary people to sell and get out. Property prices are depressed, the tax base declines and the remaining population has no real political choice but to vote for the same candidates who created the problem because the best and brightest moved elsewhere.

We are all heading to the reservation as one city after another becomes a ghetto.
