Ben & Jerry’s isn’t leaving the company’s stance up for interpretation. The beloved ice cream maker took to Instagram Friday to speak out about the importance of Juneteenth, which emancipated black Americans who remained enslaved two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. “Defund the police, defend Black communities!” Ben & Jerry’s captioned a brightly colored image of a black individual scooping ice cream. “This #Juneteenth, it’s more important than ever that we dismantle the racist and ineffective model of American policing. Learn more about how defunding the police works and why we desperately need it.” The scooper reads “DEFUND the POLICE,” and a sign in the largest

I have never purchased B&Js ice cream and I never will. Frankly, I have no idea why they even make page 35 on any "news" reporting.

I resolved many decades ago to never, ever let any of these communist America-haters' product sully my tongue, and I will continue that plan.
Horrible people.

It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unilever. Somewhere Unilever has done a study concluding that its business won't be hurt by this. Ice cream is bad for you anyway - like Aunt Jemima's (which I didn't even realize still existed) with high fructose corn syrup as its first ingredient.
I generally don't wish looting and vandalism on anyone but I'd love to see their stores get vandalized and looted so they could say it's all just fine for this to happen and they won't try to engage law enforcement.

Nobody ever gave a flying flip about Juneteenth until Trump scheduled a rally on that date, then suddenly it became the most hallowed and sacred calendar date in the history of the Universe. call me unimpressed!

Oh, Ben and Jerry, why don't you go back to your greener than green town in Vermont and make up some stupid name for one of your new flavors of ice cream? You know you have the same mentality as the Beverly Hillbillies who would only allow ten Black Lives Matter members to congregate in their fair city at one time. How come Minneapolis and St. Louis could not set the same set of rules for their cities?
The hypocrites have never been more exposed than during this stressful time.

Take a knee for Abraham Lincoln and celebrate Emancipation Proclamation Day. Only 625 thousand people ended up getting killed or wounded over it. And God only knows how many more died from malnutrition, disease and exposure afterwards. Gee, thanks, Black Lives Matter.

How about building your black communities in Liberia? We could take up a collectlon, if you will give up your citizenship.

Too late to defend black communities. They burned themselves out and are now waiting for whitey to rebuild them. Unfortunately there are enough stupid white people out here to do it and finance it for them.

We were passing through Stowe Vermont years ago, and stopped at the B&J factory to take a tour. At the end, they gave us a tasting of some of their ice creams.
Definitely nothing special. Weird combinations, and just nothing close to Blue Bell.
Add the politics you get with every bite, and my streak of never having bought any B&J's ice cream will continue on for the rest of my life.

NO INSURANCE for SJW’s businesses who hate the police!
NO INSURANCE...It’s YOUR risk when you veer off-course, not OURS!

Did anyone ever hear of this so called holiday before Trump planned his rally, and the news media made a fuss about it? We have a sportscaster in Baltimore who wondered if it was ok for a white man to say happy Juneteenth. What an idiot. First of all, ever black person whose relatives were slaves, should be thanking white people everywhere for their freedom. Three hundred and fifty thousand white Union soldiers died fighting to free the slaves. Bet that little fact never occurred to the media or the BLM sometimes matter crowd.

Ben & Jerry's has been dead since the departure of Chunky Monkey. Good riddance. The creepiness of the originals owners still stinks like dead fish. Funny how red doper diaper babies think their opinions still count.

Not enough, BJ. Give the company and all the wealth of your white executives to random black families. Their white daughters must not be allowed to marry or have children with the newly wealthy black sons in these random black families. After the divestiture of all their wealth, the white executives can set up shoe shine spots in the hood. Then, maybe you will be forgiven.

bLACK people are among the biggest customers of police protection, given the absurd rates of violent crimes committed by other bLACK people in The Community, so reducing the police will actually have negative consequences for them. Not that Ben and Jerry's knows any better, to the extent that they're still based in Vermont, which has a startlingly low bLACK population. (Maybe we should all send them some of our violent homeless people, seeing how they have all the answers.)
