Open season for criminals to kill, pillage, rape, rob, extort and take over several blocks in the city to form a sovereign nation of their own.

I back the police 100%. If they want to defund the police so be it. However, I stand behind the officer in Atlanta that was charged for murder because a DA was up for election. This reminds me of the DA that was for election that falsely charged the Duke lacrosse team with rape. That did not end well for the DA. It also destroyed a lot of those boys lives. I'll send money for this officer's attorney fees. This is crazy.

Officers all over the country are ordered to stand in place and be pelted with bricks. I would tell management to stuff it too.

I wouldn't blame the police if they all walked away. I think this is just the beginning, the dems are going to go full boar towards the police and blame them for everything until there is nothing left but criminals and victims. Then the dems will blame the GOP and the media will go right along with it.

In our town, they must be redirecting their efforts. Lurking in cars trying to catch speeders is big business.

#2, I think there’s more to it than that. I think the DA over-charged the police officer because he knew that the charges probably wouldn’t hold up in court and the officer would be acquitted just like the cases of Trayvon, Big MIke, Freddy Grey and Eric Garner. But I don’t think that he did it to help the officer. He did it because he knows that an acquittal will provoke more chaos and destruction and that’s what the left wants. Cloward-Piven strategy - overwhelm the system to usher in socialism.

There are two seoarate cases here, Atlanta and Los Angeles. Headline doesn't match the opening paragraph. In Atlanta the cops are apparently not showing up to work in protest to the charges being brought against the officers who shot the resisting sustect. In LA the cops who were assigned to the MTA (transit) units are not showing up because thety're not getting paid. Totally different situation, but an interesting one I think we will be seeing more of soon, with agencies like the MTA running out of money due to COVID shutdowns and riots, thus not being able to pay the LAPD in this case.
The Democrats may get their wish to "defund the police" in any event...and they may not like it. Better check your ammo inventory.

Most of the police officers (probably 75 percent) have rent or mortgage payments, car loans, credit card bills, tax bills, utility bills, grocery bills, and will not have an income with which to pay bills if they just quit, especially the new to mid-level officers. Forty million people just lost their jobs because of the stupid over-reaction to the Chicom virus. How do the hundreds of thousands of police officers who ought to quit get that new job? This is one of the hidden "benefits" the Marxists and deep state get with their coup. Police officers are stuck and the Marxists know it. So, yeah, expect LOTS of traffic tickets, and minimal responses to crime calls, not just in Chicago, Baltimore and NYC, but in every blue metro area. It's by design.

the reason that the dems want to defund the police is so they can implement a national police force. just like commie china. one force for all of the country. Which is stupid because different parts of the country have different problems. Who would be in control of the national police department. The dems would love to be in charge. You think there is voter fraud now. Get this defunding done and we will never see America again.
This is socialism.

Rushing to judgment and over-charging this cop is a win-win for the Atlanta DA. He gets woke-points at re-election time, and the charges won't hold up in court, so when the officer is found not-guilty, the wokes will have an excuse to riot....again. Smart dude.

A black District Attorney trying to murder a white Police Officer by espousing the death penalty.
One killed a man who assaulted him in the heat of the moment while the other wishes to murder an Officer of the law with malice and aforethought.
Who is the real killer here.?

In our ''metro-plex,'' only the ''county mounties'' sit in county patrol cars to catch speeders and druggies. The Police Officers have their hands full with the fallout from our Commie Sympathizer Mayor sitting on his hands while he keeps churches from gathering.

Police sick outs and mass retirements are the very bad short term effects of this staggeringly stupid push to defund the police and of the political class's moronic decision not to support police but rather acquiesce to the mob. But, the long term effects of these policies will result in less young people gravitating toward careers in law enforcement. Police departments will be understaffed and as a result inadequately trained as seasoned, fantastic officers continue to exit the profession in great numbers.
These moron talking heads who say well this is a good thing, because now police departments will have to pay more, and with more requirements for training, there will be more skilled officers. How much is it worth to a police officer who might come on the job that day, follow written police procedure, unfortunately kill someone and within hours face prosecution that could lead to the death penalty? Starting pay at $100,000, $200,000, name me an amount? We are not allowed to give Islamic terrorists the death penalty, but police officers who are deemed by mob mayhem to be racist killers get hanged?
We see the effects of the BLM tag line, "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon." Well now our justice system is doing just that. Our country is in deep, deep trouble and I for one don't see how we stem this tide, even with hopefully Trump's re-election on November 3. As I've said before, parents and grandparents have GOT TO GET IN THOSE SCHOOLS and demand that they start teaching reading, writing, history, critical thinking and love for our country. Without that, we see how quickly our country will deteriorate.

This is a result of our failing to eradicate the commies of all stripes within our nation. Especially 5-=75 years ago when it would have been much easier. Too many 'citizens' think somebody else ought to take out the trash, or that violence is just too horrible to contemplate and they turn on those who sound the alarm, which shows how cowardly and unthinking they are. You need to start thinking (It's way past time for that!) about what your locale will do to correct this problem, instead of worrying about what the commies are planning to do to you or society at large.

Maybe the mayor's security detail should walk out....LA's guarded office and mansion for ....this stupid mayor should be left without protection just as he has determined the rest of LA should be... now that would be justice!!

And the gun shops are mostly empty, and the ammo shelves are totally empty in most stores.
Who you gonna call? It won't be Ghostbusters.
Vote Dem and this is the hell you get.

Yep, I agree with #6 here. The DA overcharged and the case will end in an acquittal thus fomenting even more (undeserved) anger and vitriol against the police and chaos will ensue.
I'm from Atlanta. I lived there for most of my life, went to elementary school, high school and college there. It was once a nice place to live, believe it or not, a large city with the charm of a small town. This is no longer the case, of course. I moved away recently and I will never return. Best decision I've ever made.

Yell loud enough and long enough to 'defund police'.....and a bunch of them will take the hint and 'depolice' you!
Going to be some rapid learning about how much they really want the police to be around, I'll bet.
