In 1864, Atlanta burned to the ground when General Sherman conducted his famous March through Georgia. Atlanta citizens had better hope that history does not repeat itself, this time because Atlanta police officers are so horrified by the eleven charges the Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard filed against Garret Rolfe, who shot Rayshard Brooks, they’re engaging in a sick out. Without the police, the whole of Atlanta is a sitting duck for every criminal out there.
So here’s what we know: Despite the media’s usual claim that a man who died while fighting the police was a beloved family man, Rayshard Brooks might not have been such a nice person.

According to Maura Healey, MA Atty General, this would be a New Green Deal thing. If you burn it down, well that is how forests are made. We can have a new national forest in Georgia.

I still wonder what will happen during Juneteenth "celebrations" in places like Atlanta. Many of these Juneteenth gatherings feature shootings, rapes, etc. and without a good police presence there could be a bloodbath.

I wouldn't want to be a policeman working Juneteenth in Atlanta. There might be a massive sick out tomorrow - Friday night, a minority "street festival," disgruntled police who know the politicians will throw them under the bus in a heartbeat. What could go wrong?

I found it odd that the DA said 'qualified immunity' should be eliminated. He cited Clarence Thomas as being in favor of the elimination of qualified immunity.
did Clarence Thomas actually take that position?

Will be the 2nd Evacuation of Atlanta, with people and companies moving to areas 15 to 30 miles away clogging the highways. The First Evacuation was to avoid the Union’s bombardment of the city in 1864. Atlanta will soon look like it had a second bombardment.
The Chinese virus has proved that working in a downtown office is no necessary, so why return to that office and the criminals all around it.

FTA: "Instead of merely trying to escape, Mr. Brooks reached back with his arm extended and pointed an object at Officer Rolfe. Officer Rolfe heard a sound like a gunshot and saw a flash in front of him. Fearing for his safety, and the safety of the civilians around him, Officer Rolfe dropped his taser and fired his service weapon at the only portion of Mr. Brooks that presented to him – Mr. Brooks’ back."
One vital piece of information left off here. Brooks was patted down without finding a weapon early in the encounter. There was no evidence that Brooks was armed running away. Let's stop making excuses for an ill-considered police shooting. The guy was a misdemeanor arrest, blowing a .10+ BAC, just awakened from a deep slumber. The cops had his car and his ID info. He was hardly a threat to the public running through the parking lot/drive. But that all merits two slugs in the back. Really?

I looks like the DA has his own reparations system. Taking it out on the white suppressors one by one.

But Number 8:
That is your conclusion after having had the benefit of days' worth of consideration and video review.
What about the perspective of the officer who, having had his non-lethal option stolen, could have been incapacitated before being stripped of his service weapon by a desperate man? All this with mere seconds to consider with an adrenaline-soaked brain.
I don't think your assessment is realistic it just.

Anyone who lives in a big city run by an all Dem crew has to be nuts. They are guaranteed to be run into the ground by these crazies. This has to be becoming clearer and clearer every day to people, that you cannot expect any protection, or rule of law if Dems are in charge. And without rule of law your property and your life are not safe.

I lived in Atlanta in the early sixties. An absolutely gorgeous, friendly city. There was some crime...all big cities suffer from some violence but law and order were in place. I won't even drive down to see a Braves game anymore and I won't even watch the Falcons on TV for other reasons. They can burn it down again for all I care. I still have relatives there but they wisely live 20-30 miles out. This is what you get when your city has been run by black Democrats for years.
