We’re told a second wave of coronavirus infections is coming. As businesses open back up and states relax lockdown orders, the number of new cases is ticking up in a handful of states. We’ve heard warnings in recent days from the Centers for Disease Control and various public health experts and elected officials that a new series of lockdowns might be necessary. What these experts and officials don’t seem to realize is that Americans will never comply with their lockdown orders again. They have burned their credibility to the ground, and they no longer have the moral authority to tell us what to do.Simply put, the people in charge have

This one has cost us 47 million jobs, Americans wearing worthless masks, staying in their homes, and standing 6 feet apart, fighting with each other, all instead of going about their business, which they should have stuck to. If people ignored the government and the media, they would be 47 million jobs better off, and in better health.

The problem is, what if the next pandemic is not a hoax, and what if it targets children, not seniors, mortally.
You have to make sane policies for such events now before they occur, not when we're all on fire. And you have to get buy in now, while it's theoretical not subjective.

As hospitals are opening back up for elective surgeries, they are testing patients for CoVid. I'm hearing rumors they are counting those as CoVid hospitalizations although they 1) aren't in the hospital for CoVid, nor 2) exhibiting any symptoms.
Additionally, there is still ZERO documented cases of asymptomatic spread. ZERO. Every commercially bought mask has WARNING: NOT TO PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION OF DISEASE stamped on the back of it.
Additionally, the OSHA website, on mask usage, has this warning for both cloth (homemade) and surgical masks: "Will not protect the wearer against airborne transmissible infectious agents due to loose fit and lack of seal or inadequate filtration."
Whatever reason we're still forced to ride in this clown car -- it certainly isn't about health.

I didnt comply with the first batch, so this should be a snap. I smell a political distraction when I see it.

It would truly suck to have survived the first 4 waves and die in the 5th one. Sarcasm off.
No. I am in my 70s and am quite fit actually. If you're afraid to die I guess that's on some level understandable.
If you're afraid to live, then go die.

I encountered two professionals this past week who ARE in the public a lot. At a clinic, a registered nurse told me a lock-down was stupid and the fanciful distancing is nearly as dumb as the masks. Then, a workman for a national company came to my house amid his company texting me Thou-Shalt-Not memos from the home office. The workman did not wear a mask. He consequently advised me that had I balked about it, he'd have suggested I leave the house while he finished the installation. After he finished his work, we chatted for quite a bit of time until time for his next appointment. I was overjoyed to hear thoughts similar to mine from strangers NOT afraid to talk about it. I have concluded there are more like us than there are of riot-lovers and masked distance takers. I find it hard to take anything any governmental agency says. Limbaugh and Carlson are the only public figures I can count on. And the POTUS, of course.

The trouble for non compliance for any and all businesses is that if they don't comply and are caught and fined. If the don't pay the fine the city or town can deny licences or put a large tax on them. How do you beat That?
With the second shot heard round the world that is how. Not by voting, not by writing letters, not by rallies and protests. All that has been done and failed.
There are many more of us than them. But it will take conviction and courage. Unflagging unflinching courage.

Well, I didn't think they would get away with lockdowns THIS long, but my predicted riots (on this topic) have not happened.

Now you see why they want to test more? The more tested the higher the case load will be so they then can claim the second wave.

ALL this ever was was an excuse to try an economic coup d'etat and tie in ANY social discourse to it like now!

I'm not sure what Davidson means by "never again comply" when we haven't stopped, yet.

Ok, we haven't stopped except for the few who never complied to begin with, plus the many whose own flavor of virtue signalling asserts their non-compliance. (Even though the general answer to police brutality here is that nobody would fear brutality if they just complied with whatever the police order them to do when stopped.)

I don't know if Americans will comply again.
I am sure some who are frightened will.
Most Americans should not.
This whole mess has been a guessing game from beginning to end, and proved itself to be not nearly as dangerous as it was reported to be.

The author is too optimistic. Here in California we have way too many that don’t want to open up yet and are cheering Gruesome Newsom’s statewide mask order today.

America will comply again. We could refuse to comply right now but don't BUT you just wait til the next time. I wear a bandana around my neck but rarely wear it "properly". I feel depressed and humiliated doing even that. Now I know why alcoholism, depression and suicides were rampant in the Soviet Union.

I just had my yearly checkup. I was told to wear a mask and a door greater would take my temperature and ask me questions. I showed up. No one was at the door. I walked in without a mask because I'm not allowed to go anywhere and ergo am not used to wearing one and research has told me they're useless anyway. The nurse at the counter rushed to gave me a mask but asked no questions about coughing, fever, etc. The doctor showed up without a mask. These commie bastids can take their dictatorial orders and shove them you know where. CV-19 was a demonrat orchestrated event in collusion with China. Period.
