A coalition of gun-rights groups has filed a last-minute bid to prevent Virginia from implementing monthly limits on gun purchases. On July 1, Virginia will prohibit residents from buying more than one gun per month unless they are law enforcement or hold a valid gun-carry license. The measure serves as a key part of the gun-control package that Democrats passed after taking control of the Virginia legislature, but Second Amendment advocates say it violates the state constitution, as well as federal gun rights. The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), Gun Owners of America, and Gun Owners Foundation filed suit

I think they should make it mandatory.
Everyone has to buy one gun every month.

Of course the next step is to start denying carry licenses.

This is an Arbitrary and Capricious Infringement on a the Citizen"s Right to keep and bear Arms. There is no way to prove otherwise. A rational SCOUT, upholding there oath of office would have no choice but to...
Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry folks, consider moving. Tennesee is nice.

One of my wife's nephews is a very wealthy (self-made) financial guy in rural NJ, escaped from NYC, a political conservative. He makes sure he buys one gun EVERY month, just to anger the antigun folks in NJ. I don't see why he stays, but he does.

Virginia gun owners and supporters of the Second Amendment know what to do November 3. After all the Democrats' gun control gyrations in that state, patriotic Virginians should be powerfully motivated to retire as many Democrats as possible. No apologies. Just vote these bad citizens out of office, and tell them not to let the door hit them in the butt on the way out.
Incidentally, the most effective home self defense weapon, by far, is a semiautomatic MSR, or modern sport rifle such as an AR-15, AR-10, AK variants, Ruger Mini-14, and so forth. Why would anyone need an AR-15 for self defense? Let Aaargo Jay tell you.

Possible home invader in a group of a dozen, seeing the AR-15 in (defender) Jay's hand: "Dude got a Tec in his hand!" The gang of a dozen or more possible attackers decided they didn't want to mess with a rifleman with thirty rounds of 5.56 NATO under his trigger finger. But Jay should probably find himself another neighborhood. If you're not safe at home, where are you safe?

#5, unfortunately, that video requires 'signing in', which I guess is youtube's way of reducing the number of people seeing it, since I won't/don't 'sign in'.

I bought two handguns last month just to make the point. And I hold a concealed carry permit so I will be able to do that anyway. I also wanted to be part of the 80% increase in gun purchases over May last year. So there Governor Blackface! We detest you and your politics and your Bloomberg and Soros millions sent to make Virginia Marxist and which stole last year's elections from American patriots.

Re #8: Then my description will suffice. If a gang of home invaders--Jay mentions thirteen in the video (!!)--are at multiple entrances to your house wanting inside, having a pistol--even a duty size .40 caliber with 15+1 capacity--isn't going to have the same effect as displaying an AR, AK, Galil, or Mini-30 with twice the capacity of the pistol and over twice the bullet velocity. Body armor? What body armor? Unless your assailants are wearing type III or IV body armor--hard armor--the rifle will dispatch them when the pistol won't.
A defensive firearms coach I respect even suggests that if your your attackers are professional criminals who might be wearing body armor, and you're alert enough to counterattack, the first place you should shoot them is in the crotch. You're trying to stay alive. Fair doesn't matter in a fight to the death. If the fellow knocking down the door takes a round in the old family jewels, he can be a Darwin Awardee even if he doesn't die. Or if he does. Cool.
If you are going to choose just one defensive firearm that can also be carried concealed, it's hard to beat the tried and true Glock 19, 9x19mm with 15+1 capacity in Free States (10+1 in anti-gun States). But for overall effectiveness in self defense, you can't beat a high capacity rifle. The AR is loud, especially with a muzzle brake, but it barely kicks at all. In an emergency a child could use an AR to protect his or her parents. It's happened before.
By now there are probably 2.5 million Florida civilians legally carrying concealed firearms. If the Left are successful in reducing police presence, as they already have in some places, there will be many more ordinary citizens who realize that their safety begins and ends with themselves. In a time of widespread crime and rioting, the police may well not be able to respond to your call. You have as much security as you brought with you.
