Three cities, all supremely liberal, represent an American descent into anarchy against which no one is standing.
After New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said he wanted to slash the police budget, the New York City Council is going about cutting $1 billion from that budget, about 16%. That will inevitably cause a reduction of police presence around the city and, with equal inevitability, result in an increase in crime. In Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed in police custody on May 25, the city council plans to disband its police force entirely. On Friday, the city council voted to replace the police with a “community-led public safety system.”

"There is an urgent need for action to restore order in Seattle. President Trump should..."
No, he shouldn't. President Trump offered federal help and was turned down. He is playing this wisely and legally by making these democrat "leaders" look like complete fools and exposing the Antifa and BLM thugs for what they are, immature, deranged low life. Sorry about the innocent residents of CHAZ but they should have made better choices at the polls.

Absolutely, my thoughts exactly #1. While I hate to think that innocent people are caught up in the Chaz, they must take responsibility for their votes. This is a living example of you get the kind of government for which you vote. Perhaps some Antifa and BLM leaders may decide to let the ones out who wish to go. However, I seriously doubt any individuals who have a smidgeon of compassion are tied up with that mishmash of Soros funded America hating anarchists. Hopefully, this little experiment in anarchy will be a learning experience for those involved and everyone else watching from a distance. When you embrace hate and violence, it will not end well for you.

I like Trump, but his bashing of the governor and the mayor, makes them never wanting his help. Both are extremely weak and over-employed, but as leftists, will do just the opposite of what Trump wants to do and hunker down. He should just stand by offering his help instead, without the inflammatory rhetoric. That would make him look good to the people and the governor and mayor look bad, and dysfunctionally inept.

#1 if Trump is going to stand back and let this happen perhaps he shouldn’t have said that if Seattle’s leaders didn’t end this that he would.

If Trump federalizes the national guard he will be impeached again and the media will amplify every stubbed toe and tantrum the CHAZites provide, much of it staged. The anarchists and communists really want him to do it and are baiting him. Better to pursue his domestic terrorist avenues and take down the command structure that funds and foments this insanity - if there are any remaining loyal federal law enforcement and intelligence resources remaining!

A "community led public safety system" is a soft name for a mob. See how well that's working? Buy a gun. You're gonna need it.

Hey I have an idea, why not let the people in Seattle and the entire State of Washington vote in their own kind and then they can have total control of......oh crap....now what?
And now that they have decided they don't like the outcome that they themselves voted for, what makes them think they'll like their new cool hip and happening warlord governed enclave will achieve their vision? Everything will always be somebody else's fault. They turn their back on God and God fearing people and they are pizzed at the outcome so they blame God fearing conservatives.

Let 'the summer of love' continue a bit longer until it turns more violent inside CHAZ then the governor just might come begging. It's too soon to act for President Trump but I wouldn't say anymore to the state. This is a set up not for the President's failure but some cage rattling by the left, Congress, to pounce. There will be blood shed but the lifestyle in CHAZ might dwindle to the point they quit. Let the cities that experiment with lawlessness continue so the entire nation sees what a failure socialism and living without the Constitution would be like then all the liberals will be voted out of office.

The mayor and governor are never going to ask for help from bad orange man, regardless what happens. Trump is sitting back now, but I suspect if something very bad happens he will move in. One hopes that there are some under covers on scene and if the terrorists start killing people, the feds will move in. A plan should be in place that will allow for quick action if and when needed.

#13, the liberals will never all be voted out of office. Their voters are too ignorant to see a connection between demonrat controlled cities, states and countries and the evils of socialism. They will simply blame everything on Trump or they will fall back on the old thing about “socialism didn’t work THIS time because (fill in the blank) but it will work beautifully NEXT time.”

#7, the President will end up fixing this - he never fails to keep a promise but he's letting these inept people swallow the hook until they start begging. There WILL be bloodshed because these thugs are heavily armed and drunk on power. #4, he names these democrats exactly what they are because they deserve it and what has happened to them due to their surrender to the riff-raff. General George Patton cussed and swore his way all across Europe and his defeat of the Germans was no less effective. They burned human beings alive and earned every name he called them.
How long will it be before we are taking in illegal immigrants from CHAZ?

Trump should do nothing. This is Seattle’s problem. Eventually, the so-called protesters will get tired of being away from their TVs and computers and bathrooms and it will end. It is not a threat to the US, so the feds should stay out of it.

CHAZ is obviously interfering with interstate commerce. The order to cease and desist should come from the federal court—not Trump—on a petition for an injunction by the U.S. Attorney. The order would be enforced by the U.S. Marshal. That leaves both the City and the President on the sideline.

It never ceases to fascinate me how people who on one hand are staunch supporters of "state rights" and observant of enumerated powers jump on any provocation to Federalize a local disruption. The Federal government should have nothing to do with these riots and "insurrections". They are local business wholly able to be within the control of local and state authorities, with their police and National Guard assets. That the locals refuse to act is their business. Why don't the residents "trapped" in CHAZ and shaken down file for emergency injunctions in state courts demanding local/state relief? I guess it's not a pipeline...

Excuse the second comment. CHAZ is also presumably interfering with access by the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, including in correspondence with the IRS, Veterans Affairs, SBA among other agencies. By declaring sovereignty, it interferes with all federal activities in the zone and the right of people and commerce to travel unimpeded. By not taking action, the state and city have become complicit in the resulting abridgment of rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

The media is acting & reporting like it is perfectly normal for lawbreakers to commandeer territory for themselves within a major American city with no accountability to the law. The mayor, acting like a supreme ruler, is making up the response as she goes along totally ignoring the law while mobilizing the entire police department. Yet the media continues its sympathetic spin for the hooligans. This is what dem leadership comes to these days?! ...Law abiding Americans want no part of this cultish socialist dem tyranny which is so foreign to the basic principles of Life, Liberty and Justice for all for which the USA stands! Voters are seeing the irresponsible lengths the dem pols are willing to go to for personal power and will remember their anarchy which the dem party and their media seem to have embraced & allowed to destroy so many lives in their greed for theft & power over this country here in 2020.

I mentioned to a friend over dinner last night that the Floyd autopsy showed "no external cause of death" and drug overdose and heart attack as what killed him, no signs of any neck trauma. She told me that "oh, they changed the autopsy results". So, according to her, "they" whoever that is has rewritten the autopsy to now read that Floyd was strangled by the police.
Since the original autopsy is still out there, who would believe the 'new, improved' version? Can't let pesky facts get in the way of this important narrative.

The courts aren’t going to do anything about this. There is no issue of interstate commerce. That applies to laws, not local government inaction. If people living their want relief, they can try suing, but good luck finding a court to agree. Local authorities have a lot of discretion in how they handle things like this.

18 U.S. Code § 1951.Interference with commerce by threats or violence: (a)Whoever in any way or degree obstructs, delays, or affects commerce or the movement of any article or commodity in commerce, by robbery or extortion or attempts or conspires so to do, or commits or threatens physical violence to any person or property in furtherance of a plan or purpose to do anything in violation of this section shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
In re Debs, 1895, 158 U.S. 564, 15 S. Ct. 900, 39 L. Ed. 1092, a unanimous Supreme Court held that the Commerce Clause in itself prohibits obstructions to interstate commerce and that the United States has standing to sue for injunctive relief to enforce the Commerce Clause. In that case the obstruction was a Chicago railroad strike.
