The death of George Floyd on May 25 was horrific, an obvious abuse of power by the Minneapolis police officer and three colleagues who made no attempt to come to Floyd's aid. The next day, the rioting began in Minneapolis. It was violent, destructive, and murderous. Tragically, the death of this one man at the hands of one particular bad cop became an opportunity for the demolition of the city. Hundreds of small businesses, many of them minority-owned, were destroyed.
Like previous riots, the rioters have set their own communities back decades. The riots spread to New York; Washington, D.C.;

Right on, Ms. McCarthy! I’m one of many seething Republicans waiting impatiently for our “illustriate” leaders who just watch and tweet. I’d like to see them do something to back our President for a change.

EXACTLY!!
That's what I've been wanting to know. They should be owning this & putting the democrats on the defensive & exposing them for all their machinations.
Why aren't Conservatives in Washington loud & proud against the antifa taking over Seattle?
Where are all of our Representatives? There are Republicans in the liberal states. This is a great opportunity to gain ground by standing up for what's right. It's what people want.

I am so tired of hearing black people tell me that I don't understand their discrimination. I may not understand discrimination because of their color but I certainly understand discrimination. Personally, I am very familiar with how someone is treated with seizures. And years ago people suffering from any kind of brain disorder was put in a sanitarium. So please stop telling me I don't understand it. Look at how horribly someone with disabilities can be treated.
I wish Republicans would address discrimination on any basis. Please. . .

Well, if your adjective is “gutless,” that sort of answers the question now, doesn’t it.
It’s not rocket science.

American 'leaders' are not doing their lob. Ordinary citizens are going to have to step up and do it.

When it comes to the leftist and liberal Democrats playing the race card, the wimpy Republicans have one almost certain response, to run and hide under their mattresses. The Democrats know that, and is why the race card has been such an effective weapon for them to use against those wimpy Republicans.

Amen #5. First Black Attorney General in State decided it was time for a County with many African Americans to be run by African Americans. My boss and I were demoted because we were the wrong color. First thing guy did that replaced me was close his door and put a sign on it that said call before you come. My door was always open any day, any time.
The office is only beginning to recover 18 years later. Republicans are worthless too but at least better than Dems. Then again, that doesn't take much!

Actually, I appreciate the Fed's stance. This IS an individual State issue and until or unless they ask for help, the Feds need to stand by. We can complain about the 10th Amendment not being respected, but here it is! I'm sure those who have been in a leadership position know that you also need to know when to reach out to your allies for assistance. That was how we are designed. Now, if some of these Govs could swallow their pride and ask this would be over soon. Well except for Washington State..the Gov doesn't know anything is going on...moron or liar, you pick.

the republicans better stand up to this outrageous cancel culture or there will be nothing left to stand up for, we will all be on our own to defend what is left of our constitutional rights.

We will probably find that Mr. Floyd died of a drug overdose and heart attack while fighting the police in a frantic, drug-induced rage. I doubt that the police had anything to do with his death other than presiding over his last raging moments of life.

since when do we immediately accept the first story anymore ? The dead guy was a bum of long standing with a drug cocktail inside him that caused his death . The stress of capture blew his heart . No justice without a factual representation that is sorely lacking in all this emotional exploitation of a death that suits a power grab by anarchists .

My senator, Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) cannot do it all by herself! McCarthy should get on Blackburn's e-mail list and see for herself. I am tired of being tarred with the same brush as the McConnell's in Washington DC.

I don't see them as any different from the populace that elected them. Since the anti-Trump coup started, it's mostly been 'hide-and-watch' by those normally identifying as Republicans and those who represent them. It's been up to the people all along.

Thank you #17 and #18. I’ve been thinking for several days that that horrible cop didn’t kill that man. That man was in the process of dying when the cops found him and roughed him up. He didn’t have any broken neck bones, no blood stippling that’s a sigh of strangulation, just lots and lots of illegal drugs and a heart on its way out.
That horrible cop has a lot to answer for and I’d sure like to know why he thought he had to be so vicious to a handcuffed man on the ground. Also, let’s hear more about that counterfeit money. That definitely is a federal offense, where are the Tmen?
There’s so much we don’t know and I’d like to know if it’s even being addressed or is law enforcement just curling into a ball because of the race riots and communist takeover of our inner cities.
Regardless, because of the situation, that horrible cop is going to be a scapegoat and maybe he needs to be. But I can’t forget so many other racially charged incidents that turned out to be totally different after the riots ended and the other side of the story slowly leaked out. Duke Lacrosse, Ferguson, etc.

I can see why an elected Republican is hesitant to comment on anything outside his voting block, but the real question is WHERE IS THE RNC? I know they are still in a huddle trying to figure out what to do about Trump, but THIS is their job. Oh right, they will point to the complete take over of entire regions by rats as a reason to send them more money.
