NASCAR turned off some fans on Wednesday by announcing it was banning Confederate flags from all of its events. It also lost a driver. In a Facebook post, Ray Ciccarelli wrote he was ending his NASCAR Truck Series career after this season because of the decision.“Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after the 2020 season is over,” Ciccarelli announced. “I don’t believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly whatever flag they love.“I could care less about the Confederate Flag but there are ppl that do

"Banning the Confederate flag was a big move by NASCAR, considering the sport’s conservative roots." NY Post means Southern roots, but to most New Yorkers, conservative = Southern = deplorable racist.

Looks like most sports will fall by the wayside by the end of the year. They keep up this crap and the only ones watching will be the announcers and the techies to make it all work. They will find out very quickly that we can live without them.

Nascar banned our Flag 25 years ago. This most recent statement is just more virtue signaling.

Everyone i know who has/flies the Confederate flag does so out of love for the South and in honor of their family roots. None of it is intended as racist or in support of slavery. You can't simply "erase" history by destroying flags and monuments; better to accept them and use them as teachable moments. That said, this overstepping and groveling by NASCAR to BLM and other terrorist groups may mark the beginning of the end of the sport. One thing about Southerners: Our feet and our wallets are closely tied to our beliefs. Look for empty stands at NASCAR events.

Confederate statues being torn down. Why?/ They made a BLM NASCAR!

NASCAR was started by rednecks. Rednecks have kept it going over the years. They have made a ton of money off
Pandering to people who dislike the Confederate Flag is pandering to people who don't like NASCAR anyway.
My own dislike for NASCAR is growing more everyday.
I hate their rulke changes. their stops during the race,Their way of selecting the Champion, and mostly the fact that there isn't a stock car on the track. Every car is the same.with a different manufacturers sticker on the hood.
Stay home Rednecks and watch the changes then.

Time to outsource NASCAR to China.
Flying the Chinese flag will generate les controversy.

Maybe the racers and fans should go back to their roots ... the local racetracks. One of the more heart-pounding races I watched was on a figure 8 track. I was not really a fan but I went to watch a friend race.

Never owned a Confederate flag or any image of one, but I just might get one to make them mad.

If he really wanted to stand by his convictions, he would quit right NOW. A year from now gives too much time/wiggle room for Ray Ciccarelli to walk back his words and hope people forget them. Just another form of virtue signaling ... only this time from our side.

Ray Ciccarelli? Do we even know who he is? After four years in the sport with one top-ten finish and an average finish of 25th, I can say his departure will shock NASCAR to its core. LOL!
Meanwhile, for all you NASCAR-haters out there, isn't it the only sport on TV these days? That and a smattering of golf.

NASCAR already lost me and many of my friends and relatives. Their format and rule changes have alienated us.They abandoned tradition long ago so this is no surprise. They are desperate to keep what ineterest is left and they won't find it in the "woke".
Professional sports are sacrificing their existence on the altar of political correctness.
Where are black athletes going to make their millions when pro sports die?I hope they enjoy their victory - it will be pyrrhic
Back in the '60s my grandmother told me "ni99ers" will ruin this country.I was young and considered her just an old school bigot. I am willing to admit my error.
BTW I don't consider all blacks in that way - just the ignorant troublemakers who have no insight - only hatred.

It's massive lawsuit time.
You either ban all flags (except the US and state flags), or you allow all flags. Otherwise you are a huge discriminating hypocrite (which describes pretty much every Lie-beral that I have ever met)!!!!

The Confederate battle flag being banned was the SECOND reason he mentioned, while the first reason was the approval of kneeling during the national anthem. Just reversing those two would be distortion enough; but giving his second reason as THE reason is downright LYING.
All the media engage in some degree of distortion, in one direction or another; but I would have expected the NY Post to bend things a little to the Right. Even they are piling on with the Left's anti-Trump mob.

The Emedia was quick to headline every story with the fact that he won 0 races. Meanwhile for leftists Bubba BLM is the new Petty. I don't have a more recent name than the 'King' because I wasn't that interested in roundy round NASCAR even when they drove real cars.

It only took one woman to take prayer out of school and now one Mulatto is taking a flag from fans at NASCAR. In the meantime, millions of people stand by silently and let it all happen.
