Democrats accused President Trump of racism Thursday for scheduling his next campaign rally on the “Juneteenth” anniversary of slavery’s end, in Tulsa, Oklahoma — site of one of the worst massacres of blacks in U.S. history.
“This isn’t just a wink to white supremacists—he’s throwing them a welcome home party,” tweeted Sen. Kamala D. Harris, California Democrat and a contender to become running mate for Democratic nominee Joseph R. Biden
Kamau Marshall, a spokesman for the Biden campaign, said on Twitter, “How racist is Donald Trump: He’s so racist that he plans on having one of his first campaign rallies on June 19th

They also say Racist Donald Trump will wear a lapel pin emblazoned with the US flag, which flew proudly on every ship that carried African slaves here. For shame.

Is that where Calypso Louie got his magic number of nineteen from? Anyway, if Trump had come up with the 18th or the 20th or any other date, these lefties would have found some other way to call Trump a racist. And who has ever heard of "Juneteenth" outside of a few select race insiders?

I dare one of these bozos to go downtown NY or LA or some other democratic bastion and ask 50 blacks if they even know what "Juneteenth" even is?

Screw 'em. They would criticize him for anything he did or didn't do. Nothing new here.

You just knew this was going to happen. June 19th , 1865 , the date that slavery was abolished. Isn't that cause for celebration ?

Here's the deal: If you're white, you're a racist. So fly your Stars and Bars flag (or Betsy Ross, if you prefer), call yourself Big Cracker Daddy, have lots of racist babies ('cause they're racist too, studies show), appropriate all the cultures you can (like eating watermelon with chopsticks) and find yourself a WHITE PRIDE t-shirt to wear. If you do all of those things, you won't be any more (or less) reviled than those who are bending over backwards to kiss the black a$$es of BLM. And you'll feel a whole lot better about yourself.

If it was not for President Abraham Lincoln and the Republicans of the Civil War era, there never would be a basis for the African-American Juneteenth holiday. Going back much further, if the concept of slavery never existed, and there were no African slave traders in Africa selling African Black people to White Slave traders for transportation to America, to again be sold as slaves, the ancestors of the vast majority of Black Americans would never have been able to come to America in those days, and most of the African-American population of today would not exist. Those are just facts of history.
Unfortunately today you can safely bet that most Inner city Black Americans really don’t have a clue about that history. On June 19th in America, Black Americans have the freedom to do as they wish, they can attend the Juneteenth celebrations, or if they are in the right place at the right time can attend a Trump Rally, or do both. There is nothing racist about that.

To paraphrase Emily Litella: "If it isn't one date its another", there are only 356/366 days in any given year and each and every one could possibly, tangentially be related to a . . .

In case you weren't aware, Kamala Harris's mother is from India, and her father is from Jamaica.
I wonder if she's aware that Trump secured permanent funding for historical black universities, which removes the need for them to lobby (campaign contributing) for the funding. Why was this funding not secured years ago? Why did the Democrats when they had the WH, House and Senate, to continue?

Huh, I thought that was the day when Granger finally made it to Galveston. The end of the end I suppose. I'm pretty sure he let the secret out in Texas before heading off to the island.

The Democrats accused Republican Abraham Lincoln of racism for freeing the slaves.
They said it was cruel because the slaves couldn't take care of themselves, so he was dooming them to starvation.
They literally have one trick.

Right, No. 12. Juneteenth was until recent years only a Texas thing. The emancipation Proclamation was first read in Texas, in Galveston, by Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865.

Ok Democraps, how about this: I was Drafted into the Army and went to Viet Nam...I got out of the Army on June 19, 1970. That is MY Juneteenth from Slavery in the Army. I celebrate every year, my anniversary is coming in 8 days. I couldn't get out, I was fed, clothed but had to work in a state of involuntary servitude. Where are My 'Effin' Reparations?

It's also my wife's birthday. And she's okay with Pres Trump having a rally that day.
And if my memory serves me correct, Juneteenth is a celebration marking the day the slaves in Texas learned about the Emancipation Proclaimation (by Abraham Lincoln, a Republican). Pres Trump is holding the rally in Oklahoma, right?
Best joke I ever heard was a Hispanic friend and a Black friend comparing Cinco de Mayo and Juneteenth. Unfortunatly, I can't repeat it here. It's clean, but ethnically in bad taste,

It's funny. During many decades before Donald Trump ran for President, he was a public figure, In all the press coverage and publicity he got during those decades. I don't recall ANY accusations that he was a racist. But as soon as he announced his candidacy, BAM- he's suddenly a White Supremicist NAZI Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard.

I have five beautiful, intelligent, Christian granddaughters, all with college degrees and self-supporting jobs. I pride myself on having felt no hatred for any race, creed or color up until the Obama years. Since that time, my attitude has changed slightly: I would rather have my granddaughters date/possibly marry black men with resumes similar to my girls' than to have any of them date/marry a white DemocRAT. It's gotten so, I don't even want them to bring one to my home to meet me. They can be the "greatest guy in the world" in others' eyes, but I think there is a mental aberration in anyone who votes for a DemocRAT. I don't want them messing with my family's gene pool.
Tell me...What does that make me? Is there a word for it?

I will celebrate Juneteenth when Kamala Harris gets down on her knees in front of the Union Soldiers & Sailor Monument in Baltimore to give thanks! People need to remind Kamala that the slaves were freed because a whole lot of white Unions soldiers and sailors sacrificed their lives during the Civil War to accomplish that goal.

June 19th wasn't the end of slavery. Signed on Sept 23, went into effect on January 1. June 19 is just when Texas heard about it. And Oklahomans look down on Texans, so what's the beef?

June 19 was not the end of slavery in the U.S. It was merely the date (June 19, 1865) that the Emancipation Proclamation was read to the people in Texas, which was the last state to publicly read and enforce the 1863 document.
And even in this article's description of the massacre its date is not mentioned (listed as May 31 - June 1, 1921). Pretty obscure factoid for somebody to get their panties in a wad over somebody not honoring its memory, and I bet the Dems could find some racial affront for any location that Trump chose for his rally and convention. So I'd file this under fake hysteria -- which is one of the Left's most well-developed talents.
So the media are ginning up this artificial hysteria over some line being crossed that was not even universally known to exist.

I will be surprised if Trump doesn't mention June 19th AND the Tulsa riots and somehow weaves this into a speech with a theme about national healing that will make his enemies spontaneously combust. Maybe I'm giving him more credit than I should but I have to believe this topic has been discussed. I'm a Tulsa native and pay attention to what goes on there. I actually think Tulsa will be fine with ALL of this. In recent visits and reviews of its papers it seems like it is trying to make the history of the riot into something of a tourist attraction at this point. So I think this will turn out really interestingly - today the left is upseat about the timing and the insensitivity; on June 20 it will be outraged that Trump used the date and place for a healing that they will believe was insincere.

Since Juneteenth is actually a Texas thang, adopted in recent years by the rest of the country as another reason to partaaay, I suggest that November 19 should also be held in solemn memory. November 19, 1929 was the date of the last public lynching in Texas. Truly a terrible, horrible, racis . . .oh wait. Never mind. The last guy lynched in Texas, Marshall Ratliff, was white. You mean whites were lynched also? Who knew? The Santa Clause Bank Robbery. Good book, btw.

This big mouth thinks she is going to stop 40% of black Americans from voting for President Trump. Like all things about this egomaniac, no one cares what she thinks. Remember her Presidential campaign? No one else does either. Hey, we have yet to hear the most important comment about all the turmoil. What does 'Spartacus' think? Is he still dating that actress? Where is the Bern, doesn't he have some words of wisdom? Seems like just yesterday he was the front runner, right kids?

No, not Juneteenth! Who could even begin to imagine the pain this inflicts on the BLACK community? Also, where do Homosexual-Americans get off having Pride Month in June, which by all rights should be a second national month of observance of BLACK History Month?
