Pow Wow Grounds is well known for its wild rice soup and Indian tacos. But now it’s also known as the hub of an impressive community effort that saved Franklin Avenue businesses and nonprofits during the violence that erupted after the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. It started with three American Indian leaders who saw the destruction unfolding on Lake Street and rushed to protect businesses at the heart of the American Indian cultural corridor along Franklin Avenue.(Snip) Each night, 50 to several hundred community volunteers gathered in the Pow Wow Grounds parking lot for a meal

Comments:

There's a definite pecking order to our racial groups in Fundamentally Transformed America. The American Indians appear to count less than BLACK Americans, even though they were here first, and so like the Rooftop Koreans of Los Angeles, they have to provide their own protection to avoid having their livelihoods destroyed during riots.

Two ways of making your race stand out in the community --- one is by earning respect, such as this group. The other is by vandalism and looting and shooting, and mayhem. Both races stood out. Which one came out the winner?

Have known many Native Americans in my day. Have enjoyed and liked them all! Would have loved to have been around during the late 1,800's as the great tribes roamed free on the plains! What we did to them is awful and they still struggle with inability to process booz because of their genetic makeup. And then our "leaders" in MN several years ago tried to tax their casinos as if we hadn't done enough to them!!! That flopped! But liberals will try anything for a tax dollar!

Call me skeptical of the story anyway, not necessarily the actions. Most people trying to protect businesses are called vigilantes. This story on the heels of the story about pulling down the statue of Columbus. I think they are trying to defend one of their special interest groups.

Amazon is reportedly considering removing the immensely popular 1970s series “The Dukes of Hazzard” from its streaming library as it reviews its content offerings in the wake of racial tensions and protests happening throughout the US. The TV series ran on CBS for seven seasons from 1979 until 1985. It follows the adventures of Bo and Luke Duke, who create mischief in their fictional small town of Hazzard County, Ga. The Trump administration proposed a major rewrite of the asylum system Wednesday, curtailing the types of dangers that can qualify for protections and effectively barring those who fear domestic abuse or gang violence from getting asylum. Officials said they are returning asylum to what Congress intended: a protection for racial, political or religious minorities fleeing government persecution, rather than a safety valve for more mundane developing-world problems. Under the proposed rule, issued by the Homeland Security and Justice departments, migrants who traveled through other countries to reach the U.S. could be denied asylum.
