The head of New York City's largest police union on Tuesday denounced the four police officers involved in George Floyd's death, calling their actions an act of "murder" while also criticizing protesters who spread anti-police rhetoric amid widespread gatherings that have devolved into violent clashes between demonstrators and police.“Not one woman or man that has a shield on their chest, a patch on their shoulder -- regardless of what arm of law enforcement they come from -- will support or defend a murder of an innocent person, and that’s what happened,” said Patrick Lynch, president of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York, during a news conference

Why do we find most of these "murderous" police in Democrat-controlled areas?

Good first start. Now start to defund your union memebers to deconstruct the systemic racism you and so many others have created. Do it now. Don't wait for your union members' responses cause they are all part of systemic racism and don't know any better. Remeber, only you can prevent systemic racism by defunding police departments. The felons' lives you save will be more than enough reward for any other minor inconvienece society faces.

We do not know that to be the case. This is a Ben Crump fabrication, at least as far as we can see now.
And do NOT believe the reports that "Floyd's family had a second autopsy done and it shows he was strangled". This is reported on several new networks and is FAKE NEWS. The "autopsy" consisted of looking at a video of the real autopsy, and then stating what he was paid to "find". Total BS.
It has not been yet adjudicated, and the only actual evidence in the public square is the ACTUAL autopsy report.
The autopsy indicates a death from drug overdose and heart attack., with no indications of any anterior neck, airway, voice box, or fragile hyoid bone injury, bruising or marks which are present with strangulation.
Read it for yourself.

murder: (noun) the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
There is nothing that indicates that the officer intentionally killed, let alone pre-planned to intentionally kill the perp. he was arresting. There is room for debater on excessive use of force, if the officer should have considered the risk to life because the perp. may have a heart condition while being strung out on fentanayl and meth and also Covid-19 positive. But the accusation of an "unlawful premeditated killing" is absurd.

What happened to the phrase "alledged murderer". I suppose the four cops deserve no trial and should just be handed over to BLM for execution. First off, a murder normally requires a motive. Then there has to be premeditation for 1st degree murder. If allowed a fair trial I see the principle officer being found guilty of negligent homicide. I'm not sure what the other three could be found guilty of as a criminal matter. But who expects these guys to get a fair trial? Imagine the pressure on any jurors to convict or to see more mass rioting?

Did it not occur to this person who is willing to throw his brother police under the bus to make brownie points with some one, (or out of fear for someone) that some one being choked to death might just struggle a little bit. That those other 3 cops could be in cahoots to murder someone in ront of all those witnesses

After reading the entire autopsy on George Floyd, I keep remembering the fact stated in it, about the repeated trauma done to Floyd's forehead. If one can imagine someone in a hyper-drugged state repeatedly banging their head on a hard surface, such as the road, then it makes sense that any police officer, white, black, Asian, or Hispanic. would possibly place a knee on the perp's neck, in order to stop him or her from additional self-harm. A number of people have questioned why Floyd wasn't placed in the police cruiser, after being handcuffed. That attempt was made, but by the sheer size and strength of Floyd, enhanced by lethal drugs, the police officers were unable to accomplish that feat; he outweighed in force - all of them. His underlying heart condition, plus his positive Covid-19 testing in April, and confirmed again in autopsy findings, with the addition of all the drugs in his system, appeared to be the "perfect storm" against him. Hopefully, the full truth will be revealed upon the actual adjudication at trial. One can hope.

can I finish. He us also accusing those other 3 cops of aiding and abetting murder. And the one who did the Autopsy report of lying outright. II guess that is possible, but if I was him I would not be claiming that until we see the body cams and possibly other videos.

Play along here.
Could be a hit, still murder but **shudder** yeah...
Where'd George get the counterfeit $20? Some say Floyd stole from the club he and Chauvin worked at, the owner paying illegals with said counterfeit money. GF had to be eliminated.

@#7 - At this point it is impossible for the 4 officers to get a fair trial anywhere in the US. Even if the defense team proves the officers not guilty, the jury will likely convict out of fear. A not guilty verdict will set off rioting all over the country and it'll be worse than it currently is.

Sorry doofus, but the jury is still out...apparently there are 3 or 4 videos that haven't been shown to the public yet...but if one of them shows ol Georgie in a fentanyl/meth rage fighting the police, it is what it is...subduing a previous felon that broke the law by passing a fake $20 bill and got caught...some people are just basically stupid. Like him...Darwin Award contestant...

What OJ did was murder. Slit 2 white people's throats. Walked free. I agree with above. The media has dropped "alleged" like a rock, in order to incite riots and killings for them to cover. Anytime it is a white cop, it is in the title, otherwise never mentioned. Then, NBC will tell us an Hispanic is white. Probably confused from the white Warren Indian thing. Go over all the riots in these cases over the last decades, and we later find out things that turn the story 180 degree in the opposite direction. I think I will wait and see what happened, before making any judgments. I will avoid letting anyone off just because they are black, like the OJ jury did.

So does just about everyone. Joel Pollak on Breitbart said that Floyd was "killed" while restrained. At my church, the minister referred to the "murder" of George Floyd. The police officers have been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion, even thought I think it's highly doubtful that any of them intended to kill anyone. There is also the issue of his cause of death. The autopsy does not support a finding of strangulation or asphyxiation.

Unless this police union chief has commented on every other incident that resulted in a dead person at the hands of a police officer (proven in court), then keep quiet on this incident. Chauvin, apparently was not the best cop, but so far, there is no indication of murder. The owner of the store where Floyd tried to use a counterfeit 20 dollar bill called the police. Chauvin was not out and about driving around looking for a black man to murder. I don't recall this same inion chief being upset at the Mohammed Noor murder of Justine Damond when his own partner wouldn't even answer any questions until forced to testify in the trial. You can't pick or choose when you're going to be so self-righteous.

You can bet that the numbers of professional police officers around the country who were OK with the Minneapolis police officer bearing down with his knee were as rare as hen’s teeth. Nobody wanted to see such a slow motion unnecessary killing, surely not professional police officers who knew that such an apparent public murder would be used as a pretext to cause them big trouble on the job, or the responsible Black people who then watched, as hyped up urban Black rioters destroyed by arson and looting the drug and grocery stores and other critical commercial businesses that served low income and Black inner city communities desperately needed for daily life there.
It was an unbelievable act of cowardice and incompetence by the leftist Democrat Mayor of Minneapolis when he and the liberal Black Police Chief there gave the order for the police department to abandon their police precinct house to the rioters, an action that surely was interpreted by would by rioters in other Democrat run inner cities that they could easily overrun local police and destroy commercial businesses that served their communities.
Now we have entered the political stage where the Congressional leftist and liberal Democrats claim that they are going to reform all the local police departments, by what will essentially amount to the pushing out as much Federal money as possible to left wing community advocacy groups that politically support the Democrat political agenda. In another ill conceived partisan politically based program that will only make the situation worse in the long run just as the Democrats have been doing since the 1960’s Great Society era.

For those who have not yet read prior informative posts, poster #3 cites very good evidence regarding the Floyd possible and/or likely cause of death. There were a number of contributory factors.

I don't see how Officer Chauvin can be found guilty of murder if he was using a department approved restraint technique that he had been taught by the police department. What I have read from law enforcement is that the technique he used is part of their police training and that the mayor of Minneapolis is well aware of this fact. If people want to go after someone they should go after the Minneapolis city government and the police department trainers. Chauvin is being railroaded.

George Floyd's death is debatable. Just a few examples.
He was not suffocated according to the official autopsy, but drunk and high on drugs to the extent he didn't have clue what he was doing, suffering from hypertension, arteriolosclerosis, heart disease and overweight.
His size, violent past and drunken and drugged state made him a very dangerous and unstable character to the police.
No one knows how much force the officer was actually applying.
If George wasn't drunk and on drugs that day he might still be alive, but his behavior led him to an encounter with police who had knowledge of his impaired cardiovascular condition.
At worst it seems manslaughter, but if the knee is an approved restraint method even that would be a stretch.
This is why we have trials and why we go to great lengths to cull folks like the NYC police union boss from the jury so that guilt is not presumed but proven after all the evidence and testimony is presented and considered.

Every day you wake up and make choices: some good, some bad and some downright stupid. Own it.
George made a decision to be a criminal, to present a counterfeit bill, take drugs and not control his medical problems. Maybe he didn't know he had the corona virus. How many including the police officers did he share it with? He and the cop had history. But it took three cops to hold down a big man high on drugs.
If his brother cared so much, why didn't he help George turn his life around? Same reason his family came out of the wood works to grieve and collect?
No one is defending LEO's who put up with being cussed, spit on, stabbed, shot, and run over by cars. Like that cop in Las Vegas who will be on a ventilator for the rest of his life.
