WASHINGTON— Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told lawmakers Wednesday that he would not have approved an FBI surveillance application for a former Trump campaign aide during the Russia investigation had he known at the time about the problems that have since been revealed.Rosenstein’s comments amounted to a striking concession that law enforcement officials made mistakes as they scrutinized ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. But even as he acknowledged the legitimacy of anger from Trump and his allies, he defended his appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to lead the probe and affirmed his support for the conclusion that Russia interfered but did not criminally conspire

I don't believe that he didn't know. He was part of the coup attempt.

I watched the hearing - - and I don't understand why they even called Rosie in.
He doesn't know anything. He never heard of the DOJ or the FBI. In fact - - he was on the Planet Glinkor all the while the investigations were taking place.
They should try calling in someone who knows something.

Rosenstein oversaw the investigation of Trump for 2 years, now admits many mistakes made, and much of the presumptions were wrong. And yet, Rosenstein has not been the source of any revelations of mistakes made, or presumptions that were wrong. Why is that, Mr. Rosenstein? Don't you have a duty to the public to tell the truth, rather than concealing it?

I haven't been able to watch or listen to any of it. Is it true Rob said that since he and his fellow conspirators have been caught, that he now freely admits he would have done eveything , except the wearing the illegal wire to get a 'gotcha' moment on Trump proposal, differently?

Well, I guess at least Miss Lindsey had a hearing.
The feined-incompetence of Rosenstein reminds me of the old joke -- you should be glad you don't get all the government you pay for.

It seems like the questioning was pretty pathetic. Miss Lindsay is slipping back into his old persona. "This is about moving forward as a nation." What the heck does that mean? We have an ONGOING criminal conspiracy to overthrow and inhibit a presidency. Rosenstein FACILITATED that. If he was ignorant of what was going on, he was WILLFULLY so.

Watched a little of this on C-Span. Saw Crapo, Corn Pone Kennedy and Graham. They all were weak per usual. They should have borrowed Jim Jordan from the House to ask the questions.

I know very few well-read conservatives who are watching this hearing. Graham got pressured into doing “something” and it is designed as a show for the Senators. Did the Republicans have this man stand and publicly repeat the oath? I didn’t see it.

Allow me to translate. What he really means is that now that I am about to be indicted I never would have participated in the coup if I knew we would get caught.

He needs to be in prison.

We have a Republican primary here in South Carolina on Tuesday and Lindsey has 3 challengers. I’m planning to vote for Duke Buckner who is pro-life, pro 2nd amendment and African American. It’s past time to send Lindsey out to pasture.

Rosenstein got caught with his hands in the cookie jar. Plain and simple as that. He would do it again in a heartbeat, but he might do it slightly different so as to not get caught. He is claiming ignorance, but at least now he is on the record for future prosecutions. That is never a bad thing.
