The president of the New York City police union wrote Tuesday in a letter to his fellow sergeants, “I know we are losing the city,” amid the violent protests and riots occurring in the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers in Minneapolis.Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, wrote. : I know we are losing the city. We have no leadership, no direction, and no plan. I know you are being held back and used as pawns. I am one of you! I am doing, and I will continue to do, everything I can to protect you and the people

Tell the elected officials to protect the city.
I would turn in my badge. Why should the police put their lives on the line. The NY police have taken enough crap from those in the city. I know. Their are innocent people there. But bet you they are on the side of the police. The problem happened in Minneapolis. Not all cops are bad cops.

I agree that they should turn in their Badge, all of them at once! I can't even believe this governor and mayor still have THEIR jobs! People should be marching on them by the thousands!

Hey, the anti=police thugs have the support of the mayor and lots of officials in the city.
Ya'll enjoy what you have selected and elected TWICE. Zero sympathy.

The mayor and governor will do something once the suburbs start burning or Manhattan smells smoke. Elite is as elite does.

The NYC Police get no sympathy from me. They have supported the politicians who led us to this place and opposed those who resisted this path and have done so for decades.

NYC deserves DeBlasio. He got re-elected easily. They need a tough black Republican. An ex military guy or an ex athlete would be the best shot. That Sheriff Clarke who used to appear on FOX would be ideal.

Just blow-up all of the bridges and tunnels and trap them all in the city and leave them there. They want to live in anarchy, they've got it.

Why would a New York Police Officer arrest anyone.
Why subject themselves to the act oif taking them to be incarcerated, writing a report, and doing all of the paperwork necessary to the arrest, when the city turns them loose without bail faster than the Officer can get back on the street.

The police are not losing the city. Voters gave up on it long ago.

You can thank Prince Andrew and Mr Bill for that. Both are incompetent and over their heads at governing.

They "lost the city" when Mayor DeBozo was elected. He has had the city slowly disassembled and set up for destruction for his whole time in office. And these fools RE-ELECTED him!
Life is all about choices. Choosing DeBozo is a sign of a deep seated moral and political rot that is literally taking the city apart.

I got news for that NYC union president - the cops lost the city the very minute comrade de Blasio was elected and installed as mayor by the freebee crowd and by voter fraud. NYC is a cesspool and unless another Giuliani is elected for law and order, it'll remain a cesspool sucking all state taxpayer money. NYC is a prime example of the gimme, gimme, gimme mentality and comrade Cuomo makes sure NYC gets what it wants.
When comrade Cuomo went begging for state bailout reparations to President Trump, all this begging was for NYC. Never mentioned any area beyond the NYC line. As usual, no area beyond the line exists. After all, NYC is where his dumb voters reside.

The police should all call in sick for a week. Let the city residents deal with the violence on their own. After a week, there will be a new found respect for the police.
