President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to move the Republican National Convention from North Carolina, citing a problem with the Democrat governor.
“Unfortunately, Democrat Governor Roy Cooper is still in Shutdown mood and unable to guarantee that by August we will be allowed full attendance in the arena … Plans are being made by many thousands of enthusiastic Republicans, and others, to head to beautiful North Carolina in August,” he wrote on Twitter. The Republican convention is scheduled to begin August 24 in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Spectrum Center. But Gov. Cooper continues the slow process of reopening North Carolina,

Coop takes his orders from Commandant Heir Pelosinni and whatever Trump wants they oppose. So best start looking for a state that is not outright hostile and toxic.

Put it in a place that will welcome the republicans. The economic value of a large convention is priceless.

Either have it the heart of the Beast -- DC -- or have it in the heartland.

On the heels of Joe's "You ain't black enough" comment, President Trump should move it to Detroit.

it is a promise, not a threat. and DJT is being completely rational.
any contracts signed by the DNC and vendors for the convention are voidable, given the facts.

Our governor is simply virtue signaling to the national Demoncrats - apart from the urban centers such as Charlotte, the rest of the state shows no serious issues with COVID. Last Friday he "allowed" us to enter "phase 2" with limited seating in restaurants so we took the opportunity Saturday to hit our favorite Mexican restaurant (albeit a little earlier than normal) and it was delightful. Many people outside, cold cerveza and hot food (chimichangas!)
In our county of 170K situated along the I-40/85 corridor, we've had about 6 deaths from COVID since this began - jaywalking is more of a risk than going around without a mask.

Take it to Florida or Texas, one of the states that is showing commonsense. I just wish he would deal finally with all of this shutdown stuff. Because if he doesn't he deserves what comes to him.

I like Georgia for the next choice... but it in Stacy Abram's back yard! Georgia has been tighting, but it's still red - secure it there, uphold gov. Kemp's hands in being the first to recognize the need for freedom over fear... and run on that ticket of courage, freedom and capitalism VS despotism, socialism and fear... bring back FDR's quote: we have nothing to fear, but fear itself! Make this the most patriotic election in American history! That's the ticket!

Move it to Florida. Trump can count on Governor DeSantis to put together a great Convention! Why mess around with a Democrat governor!!

Amen, poster #16. I've volunteered for the event; bring it to Chucktown! Maybe Columbia--not sure Charleston, with our summer invasion, can handle it.

Las Vegas has the facilities and 150,000 hotel rooms and we desperately need the economic shot in the arm the convention would bring. Yes, it’s a blue state but the dims would be on the spot if Vegas was at the least part of the conversation.

Three months out! I would be surprised if there are any facilities (convention hall, adequate lodging space) able to host an event of this size that aren't already booked up at this date.

Poster 22......the arenas around the country may have been fully booked until the plague hit but you can bet the cancellations have been pouring in since this social distancing took hold. Big crowds will not return to these large venues anytime soon. DJT can lead the way to a normalcy we all crave.

Obviously, President Trump could quickly get the convention to Florida. I'd love to see Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis knock another one out of the park!
