Just two years ago this week, we were treated to the wedding of the decade.
Millions around the world tuned in as the bells rang out for Harry and Meghan, the modern face of the Royal Family. Today, the vintage champagne has gone flat, the bells have long stopped ringing, and the couple have turned their backs on Britain, opting to live among the shallow royalty of Hollywood rather than the real thing. The Sussexes' long goodbye has cost the House of Windsor much in damaged reputation. But that is nothing compared to the financial cost to the British public.

I'd disagree that the Meghan and her escort have damaged the House of Windsor. They're both pushing 40, and their behavior only reflects badly on them. If anything, the RF has been very restrained in dealing with them, probably for Harry's sake, not Meghan's. They're probably hoping they've seen the last of her and her diva act. Most of the discussions I've seen think they should be stripped of their titles and their HRH.

She's a gold digger, how long will it be before Harry figures it out. Maybe he compares him self to King Edward VIII?

It was DOOMED from the start. They were married on the anniversary of the beheading of Ann Boleyn. A very unpopular queen, it's impossible that no one pointed this out to them. Antoinette Markle arrived to her wedding riding in the very car that Wallis Simpson arrived at Edward's funeral service in. I applaud who ever selected that conveyance for the big day. I believe most of the flowers at the nuptials were fake as many were not available at that season. MeAgain didn't like the smell of the chapel and wanted air freshener sprayed, threw a fit when Queen Elizabeth God bless her, said a big royal NO to the emerald tiara.
We were all subjected to a lecture by the social justice preacher during the ceremony and to top it all off as they rode through the streets waving you could see the tramp mouthing "Holy F..." real classy.
Never mind that this was her 3rd trip down the isle, ans tbe fact that she barely curtsied to the Queen, there are reliable sources that say she told him she was pregnant hence the quick marriage. I also recall great goings on that Harry did not want to have her sifn a prenup ans charles was apoplectic about it. Who knows who won that battle.
She s a tramp and Harry is stupid, a complete laughing stock and.... he knows it. Marry in haste, repent in leisure. No sympathy here.

I wonder if California's community property laws apply to foreign nationals. No, not talking about the other 20 million illegal grifters...just these two.

"opting to live among the shallow royalty of Hollywood rather than the real thing"
Both Hollywood and the British royal family live in profoundly artificial bubbles. Deciding which life is more fake is kind of like asking which Clinton is more dishonest.

I predict: MM will want to run for Congress or a do-nothing state job.
Archie will become an actor or do commercials.

Monarchy in the 21st Century is an anachronism of the first order. You might expect monarchy in some third world underdeveloped countries but the fact that a culturally and economically advanced society like Britain tolerates this absurd institution in this day and age testifies to the fact that they don't understand sound national fiscal management. Subsidizing a line of "Royals" whose contribution to society is negligible doesn't make much sense to this American "commoner."

#3 - Love your historical connections, but considering Britain's long history its got to be hard for a bride to pick a wedding day that isn't the anniversary of someone losing their head at the command of the monarchy.
I am surprised its only been two years...seems like 20!

I can see Harry in a job doing voice overs on ads using his authoritative uppah closs English accent. Still prefer Michael Caine's half Cockney though.

Poster 10 you are correct but that date, May 19th is so profound in English history. Proves Antoinette Markle knows nothing of history. Anne Boleyn' s fall sends shivers to this day....

I'm always puzzled by comments from someone who thinks the monarchy is too old and not modern enough for today. This particular monarchy can trace it's roots back a thousand years. At one point, they owned England, that's owned, and everyone in it. Queen Elizabeth still owns half of Scotland. What they have today is inherited. So to say they are old school and should end would be like you giving up granny's wedding ring from a hundred years ago. Granny owned it and left it to the family to go down through the ages. Markle won't be able to make much money in voice overs, tho. Have you heard her hesitant, ridiculous voice over of the Disney movie about elephants? I made it through about 1 minute. She was awful.

Ever wonder why Harry could not snag on one the beautiful aristocratic linage laden English girls that he was around since he was a kid. It’s funny that none of those girls were interested in legally hooking up with Harry, I think it was because they figured out that he was not a very smart Prince. Chances are after the Meghan affair ends that Harry will most likely be a very sad man without a country.

“Marry in May, rue the day”. Most recently spoken by Violet Crawley of Downton Abbey.
Betch Harry is up to his ears in ruing these days.

Harry is a troubled soul, just like his mother. Maybe they were not blessed to live happily ever after.

I knew it was a huge bust before the wedding. My gut said ‘fake, goldigging, social-climbing wannabe starlet’. They are both very emotionally unstable, needy and narcissistic. She did her homework and saw Harry, the ultimate easy mark. I’m sure his family read her from the git go. But, afraid of the race card and to ‘make Harry happy’, they went along with it. It is imploding, even as Harry doubles down on his colossal mistake. I only feel sorry for Her Majesty and that poor baby boy, Archie. MEghan and Harry deserve what’s coming.

Harry will always be a royal; his wife, not so much. She will always be a grifter. Maybe Auntie Hillary can adopt her after the Markle divorce.

If I were Harry, I'd take a fast car ride through a Paris tunnel and end it all.

A bright spot amid the hardships of the Chinavirus pandemic is the spotlight shining on narcissistic celebrity wastrels such as these two, whose livelihood is pretending to care about the downtrodden and the environment. Ordinary people face severe financial hardship while celebrities share near-naked poolside selfies from their mansions and vacation hotspots; talk about burning any remaining public goodwill in exchange for a scrap of attention, which to them is like oxygen.
