U.S. pulls out of Open Skies treaty,
Trump's latest treaty withdrawal

The United States announced its intention on Thursday to withdraw from the 35-nation Open Skies treaty allowing unarmed surveillance flights over member countries, the Trump administration’s latest move to pull the country out of a major global treaty. The administration said Russia has repeatedly violated the pact’s terms. Senior officials said the pullout will formally take place in six months, based on the treaty’s withdrawal terms. “I think we have a very good relationship with Russia. But Russia didn’t adhere to the treaty. So until they adhere we will pull out,” U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters.

Wonder how much money US contributes to the participants of the Open Sky Treaty. That is probably what they are unhappy about. Keep it up, Mr. President.

The Rooskies have been cheating very obviously on all their treaty obligations since Putin has been in power. The international organization that I worked with doing funded research in Russia was thrown out about 8 or 9 years ago after having worked there for 15 years, employing a lot of Russian scientists. This is Putin's doing.

This affects my paycheck how? Not sure how overflights are of any real benefit when we have 24/7 satellite surveillance. And, how much intelligence can one aircraft compile in one overflight when we have satellites?

Doesn’t look like the Ruskies helped Trump get elected if he dings Russia for a treaty violation. If this doesn’t illuminate the myth of Russian collusion, I don’t know what will.

Those countries that can't afford to fly world wide reconnaissance have benefited from the information gathered by their allies that can. They could all drop out of the treaty and choose which allies they want to allow flyover rights. Satellite surveillance does not require permission to use airspace..

This follows the Trump proven plan. There is an issue with the way Russia is refusing overflights in contradiction of this treaty. Trump knows it will never be fixed unless there is some incentive..so Step One: Shut down program in it's entirety. Step two: Identify the offending action/clauses/expenses Step three : Negotiate the changes with the program inactive, so it provides strong encouragement for the other party to act against it's own interests. Step four: Re-enable program with required fixes. I think it is a beautiful method and has worked well for him so far.

Jerry Nadler will have to investigate President Trump for kicking the Russians out of the US skies, something has to be going on, as the Democrats know that’s not kosher for a supposed Russian Agent like Trump to do things like that, who knows Trump might even be doing something in the US interest, and the Democrats can’t have Trump doing that!

Have seen the flight paths of the Russkie 'surveillance' aircraft over the CONUS. They have flown directly over areas in the Nellis range complex that would have gotten me sent home from Red Flag. I'm fairly sure we had enough time to stick some various things in hangars and other buildings prior to their overflight, but it still bothered me no end. I don't know what good intel we got from our OC-135 flights over Russkie territory, but I think we can live without it.

After receiving a formal warning from the United States Justice Department over church closures, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said his state is "weeks away" from allowing in-person religious services to resume. A group of federal attorneys wrote a letter to Newsom warning him that prolonged church closures likely violate the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment due to the fact that similar non-religious businesses are receiving the green light to reopen in Stage 2. "Laws that do not treat religious activities equally with comparable nonreligious activities are subject to heightened scrutiny under the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment," the letter states.

Specifically, Whitsett claimed Whitmer and the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization sought to deprive her of her right to engage in protected speech after she publicly thanked President Donald Trump for his suggestion of using the drug hydroxychloroquine to treat her coronavirus case. Whitsett contracted the virus in March and has been open about her appreciation for the president’s suggestion, which she says saved her life.

Is Judge Emmet Sullivan’s collusion cameo nearing its end? Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Earlier this week, Flynn’s counsel, Sidney Powell, filed the petition for that extraordinary writ, asking the appellate court to instruct Sullivan to grant the Justice Department’s motion to dismiss the case against Flynn. That was after Judge Sullivan not only declined to grant the prosecution’s motion, but (a) invited non-parties to intervene in the case by filing amicus briefs (transparently, to make arguments that he somehow has

Arizona lawmakers are moving to erect new hurdles to protect individuals from having their property seized by the state. SB 1556 would end the ability of prosecutors to be able to take property simply by convincing a judge that it is connected to criminal activity. Instead, they would have to actually first convict someone of a crime. The 6-4 vote Wednesday by the House Judiciary Committee came over the objections of prosecutors who argued that it would impair their ability to protect Arizonans from criminal activity. But (snip) their real objection is that the current law allows prosecutors — and the police agencies (snip) — to keep what they seize.

A judge in rural Oregon on Monday tossed out statewide coronavirus restrictions imposed by Democratic Gov. Kate Brown, saying she didn’t seek the Legislature's approval to extend the stay-at-home orders beyond a 28-day limit. Baker County Circuit Judge Matthew Shirtcliff issued his opinion in response to a lawsuit filed earlier this month by 10 churches around Oregon that argued the state's social-distancing directives were unconstitutional. Brown filed paperwork within hours seeking an emergency review by the Oregon Supreme Court and a hold on the ruling until the high court could take it up. Her attorneys had asked the judge to stay his ruling until that time, but he declined.

Every state and local politician who imposed lockdowns pursuant to the COVID-19 pandemic claimed their decisions were based on “the science.” In reality, they ignored the advice of leading epidemiologists, relying instead on statistical models produced by “experts” with histories of wildly inaccurate projections. The most notorious of these oracles was, of course, Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London, who claimed that coronavirus could kill 2.2 million Americans. Based on such apocalyptic predictions, combined with overcautious warnings from Beltway bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci, all but a few governors implemented economically destructive stay-at-home orders — despite the reservations of respected epidemiologists who questioned the logic of lockdowns from the beginning.

There are so many angles to the FBI-Michael Flynn imbroglio, and most have been covered in great depth across a divergent set of viewpoints. But one aspect that has not been covered, and that opens up a wider lens into FBI policy, is the fact that the FBI refuses to audiotape, much less videotape, interviews of witnesses or suspects such as Flynn. That policy is counterproductive and makes no sense in 2020. The FBI needs to take itself out of the J. Edgar Hoover era and align itself with modern law enforcement best practices.
