Ever since he matured from Marxist revolutionary to conservative heavyweight champ, the American left has felt free to smear Clarence Thomas in ways they’d scream “racism!” at if he were still one of them. It’s a half-century reminder of which political team consistently weaponizes a twisted conception of racism to obtain power at any cost, instead of recognizing racism as a moral evil with objective standards of transgression that apply equally to all.In this reprehensible tradition, The New York Times published an article on May 18 titled, “Passed By for Decades, Clarence Thomas Is a New Symbol of the Trump Era.”

I highly recommend reading My Grandfather’s Son by Justice Thomas. He is a sterling man guided by his faith, upbringing, and integrity. If you take a look back at his confirmation hearings, you will see Joe Biden at his worst (not a surprise as there are so many bad moments in Joe Biden’s history).
Clarence Thomas is a national treasure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this week's "Created Equal" documentary on, of all places, PBS. It was actually quite fair and balanced.

I don't know if PBS will re-run it, but the documentary on Justice Thomas, "All Men are Created Equal". was an excellent presentation. Can't believe it actually ran on Public Television.

I was so excited to watch the PBS showing of the Thomas biography. The damn PBS station in San Fransisco showed "Quakers: The Quiet Revolutionaries" instead. I'm still angry! More at myself for believing PBS in S.F. would air a positive and truthful program about this great man, that I even looked them up on the general listing for Dish. Damn them, just damn them!

Justice Thomas has seized on a simple concept to empower his jurisprudence; that words written as law mean what they say, no more, no less. That means that the law of this Country is written in stone and is a solid foundation on which to stand. Yes, with great and concerted effort, new stones can be laid or old ones modified but it is not the work of 9 justices to do so. It is the work of super majorities of Congress and of 3/4 of the states.
Liberals, frustrated in their ability to enact change through law instead created change through decisions of the SCOTUS. They accomplished this by slowly building up a liberal court and then pushing through their agenda. It caught Conservatives off guard because it was a perversion of the established role of the court to make such decisions. Yet, the court assumed the power to do so. It has taken 50 years for Conservatives to respond and build a Conservative court that abhors judicial activism and is willing to roll back previous decisions "wrongly" decided. Justice Thomas is an essential element of that process. His clarity of thinking is a model for proper judicial actions.
Hopefully, going forward, we will give judges a new type of litmus test. Not on how they would rule on a particular type of case but what they consider the role of the court to be; to be a legal activist and create law to solve problems OR to decide uncertainty within the law and recognize that the decision to solve problems remains with the legislature.

#5, I'm surprised that you would expect anything different from a SanFran station, let alone a PBS station.

#7 - Indeed. Now you know why I am so angry! Although skeptical, that it was promoted as the national PBS it seemed possible the SF affiliate would participate. At least I didn't wait until 9pm. As soon as I read the article I checked the Dish listings and saw their program line-up. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt of an old listing and turned it on, and found Quakers. I'll watch "Created Equal" directly and give the ratings to the producers. (Thank you, Al Gore, for inventing the internet!)

Yes #1, our family makes sure every new high school graduate gets a copy of Justice Thomas’ magnificent book. The first five books we bought we were able to get personally inscribed to our graduates. They each consider it a prized possession. Indeed, Justice Thomas is unfortunately a greatly unappreciated National treasure.

Many of us who sat through every moment of his unforgettable confirmation hearings have felt a great respect, admiration and loving bond with Justice Thomas and his wife since that time. He is the one person in our federal government that I respect above all others. He is indeed a great man and a great American. He is also a good and decent man, and it shows.
Those hearings revealed character, and lack of it, in a very meaningful and memorable way. Joe Biden, along with Ted Kennedy, stand out in my memory as the worst of the worst. The things coming to light about Joe Biden today are only more confirmation, to me, of the disgusting lack of character he displayed back then during those hearings.

Like posters above, was questioning the reason the Extreme Far-Left PBS would run this great documentary, until i watched it.
Then it made sense.
The Far Leftist Trotskyites from PBS ran it nationwide because it throws shade on Stalinist Biden.
The Bolsheviks against The Mensheviks, nothing more.
That said, it was a wonderful film and should be shared with every American family in the country.

the best legal mind on the Court. historians, a century from now, will marvel at his skills in shaping judicial philosophy.
God has shaped a great jurist, who has done more for his beloved country than any other justice, in my opinion.
