A tourist from New York has been arrested in Hawaii after he allegedly violated state regulations that require travelers to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.Tarique Peters, 23, of the Bronx, arrived in Honolulu on Monday. He then posted photographs on Instagram photos showing himself sunbathing at the beach and carrying a surfboard, state officials said.“He allegedly left his hotel room the day he arrived and traveled many places using public transportation. Authorities became aware of his social media posts from citizens who saw posts of him — on the beach with a surfboard, sunbathing, and walking around Waikiki at night,”

This is what the elites want. An electorate completely cowed into obedience.

Locking your tourists up doesn't seem to me to be a very warm welcome from Hawaii's tourist industry nor conducive to future visitor's travel plans.

They allow people to fly in from NYC and then complain about it.

You don't catch this virus sunbathing on the beach and surfing in the salt water. In fact, it has the opposite effect. Salt water is excellent for your health. That's what they give you in the hospital, better known as an I V. Just goes to show you how stupid these blue states are.

I recommend Antigua. Safe, pleasant, English speaking and terrific UNCROWDED beaches. And cheap by Hawaiian standards. Five star hotels if you want it but I recommend a little 8 room B&B with restaurant, on the water called 3-Martini …. Tell Godfrey Richard says hi.

That'll do wonders for the tourist industry. I'm sure Hawaii doesn't make much money off that.

This is a classic example of the foolishness of this whole con. How can you really be protecting people without a total and complete shutdown of everything? You can't!

I would not go to there in the first place. Any state that mandates its innocent citizens or visitors be unarmed and victims in the waiting is not a place for me.
Two weeks voluntary lockup in the most expensive state in the country? What communist kool aid have these idiots been drinking? Book 'em Danno. Stupidity one.

I have no doubt that he went there planning to set this up for a big lawsuit.
And he will probably win, since requiring American citizens to quarantine in another US state just wreaks of not being very Constitutional!!!
I would say the sleazebag lawyers will be standing in line, but I'm sure he already had one who helped him scheme up this whole trip!!!

Why are they renting a surfboard when there's a lockdown and the beach were suppose to be closed?
Why are the hotels taking reservations?
And why isn't he wearing a mask at the beach? It's the law or $5K fine!
Btw, from New York to Hawaii, plus Hotel and Meals?! Who paid for it? Governor or the Mayor?

Bronx, hmmm, I wonder if he's in AOC's district doing what AOC demands of her Jim Jones mentality voters - do anything that feels good.

Why not advise people not to come to Hawaii ? You save and plan a trip long in advance and most people only get a two week vacation. You pay for airfare, a hotel, taxi, only to be stuck in a hotel for 14 days. No matter how stupid this guy is, it seems unfair to all tourist.
On the other hand, one less NYer coming to FL.
