In New York, 5% of the seniors living in nursing homes have died from COVID-19. In Florida, the disease has claimed less than 0.6% of those in nursing homes. What explains the vast difference in death rates among this vulnerable population? New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo panicked about COVID-19, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did not.
Over the weekend, Democrat Cuomo announced that nursing homes would no longer have to accept patients discharged from hospitals who were COVID-19 positive. Which leads to a question: Why in the world were they required to do so before?
The reason was that Cuomo was panicked about hospitals being overrun. So to clear beds,

Thats ok. He'll just do what New Yorkers always do. Tax them more, take away their guns and invade neighboring states to bring cosmopolitan sophistication to all us rubes. He wont lose a lick of sleep.

The fact is Wolf here in PA did the same. Do you suppose it is a mental deficiency of the left that leaves them without common sense? What else could explain this kind of insane thinking?
Let me see, let's put your grandmother in a nice nursing home and then bring COVID-19 patients into the home to live with her. Yeah that sounds like a great idea. Who besides a deranged leftist would think so?

Panic or intentional? You be the judge. Something smells here. When two federal facilities were NOT utilized (USNS Comfort and pop up) by the sick elderly. The Governor's regulations required the elderly with COVID-19 be returned to a confined facility (nursing homes) where this virus spread to other residents with already compromised health. Most of these nursing homes were not equipped with trained personnel and they were not equipped with the necessary PPE. However, NY did provide the nursing homes with body bags. This almost reminds me of an extermination process. Most of these elderly victims were on Medicaid. This is a one way to get rid of an expense to the state. Call me a conspiracy nut, but something smells. The same happened in PA, NJ, CT that used the same regulations as NY.

I suspect the death toll in NYC will not effect voter turn out in November. A dead voter is a reliable voter.

Now that the facts reveal local response has a direct impact on your life maybe local voter's will by chance hold their "leaders" accountable despite a crazed MSM.

And that action should put Cuomo in the Electric Chair. We can auction off the 'Push the Button' action to the highest Bidder. I'll start that auction at $1000.

The man should be charged with Manslaughter, or at least Negligent Homicide.

Why was the Javits Center turned into a hospital and why was the USS Comfort ship sent to NY? In my opinion, this is all about money. The nursing homes get money for every patient sent to them--much of it from Medicare and Medicaid. Unfortunately, I think Medicare is also partly to blame. They pay for 90 days of "rehab" after hospital discharge. "Rehab" is a euphemism for nursing home.

If we had a justice system, he would be prosecuted for murder.

Governor Cuomo made a colossal error and will pay the price for it. He should have used the available facility at the Javits Center, that they turned into a hospital.
I have a theory about the Corona virus. Back is February I remember reading that many Chinese in Wuhan saying they thought the virus was coming from the pipes. Immediately, I thought, the water pipes? No, that's not what they meant. They were talking about air ducts and vents. Anyone in an institution or where the air is recirculated could be a breeding ground and transmitter for this virus, such as aircraft, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, assisted living complexes, cruise ships, movie theaters, schools, and tight living quarters where people live many to a household, as ion the reservations of many native Americans and with immigrant families. How many people who work in construction, drive trucks, do delivery, movers, landscaping that are not tightly connected to others have succumbed to this virus? I would like to see a statistic on that. The panic over opening the beach or going for a walk with your dog was absolutely ridiculous. Social distancing, washing hands often and wearing masks when in close proximity to others are all good practices. If we adhere to those practices, there's no reason why we can't open up the economy. Those who are at risk, mainly seniors and the ill, should shelter at home or be strictly quarantined.
Let's use common sense and get back to work.

Cuomo was doing anything and everything he could to avoid being in any kind of gratitude to Trump. Which meant not using the ship in the harbor, to ordering nursing homes to take live viral patients back into the residences. It wasn't just elderly, this also happened to people in some of the rehab after surgery centers too. Cuomo needs to face the angry families of those he willfully infected and killed. This state along with the nation needs to start seeing justice happening, not just what pleases the media.

#9, nowhere in the medicare book can I find where they will pay for nursing home care (rehab) for 90 days. If one is on medicaid it may be done, but not medicare. But to qualify for medicaid one must be poor, near poverty.

I remember when this first came out, we had medical 'experts' saying we don't have the resources and we should not treat anyone over 60. Just because some 'expert' says to do something doesn't mean we should. Maybe they did this in other countries, but that doesn't mean we should do it here in the United States. When our leaders do not think, that is when they end up following crackpots making decisions like this.
What happened is criminal incompetence.
IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT ANDREW CUOMO IS INCAPABLE OF CRITICAL THINKING, AND AT THE VERY LEAST, NOT COMPETENT ENOUGH TO BE GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK.

I think "panic" in the headline should be replaced with gross negligence and total incompetence.
