President Trump is facing a growing rift with Senate Republicans who are siding with Democrats on the need to provide hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency aid for states and cities that have lost tax revenue during the coronavirus pandemic to pay for first responders and other basic expenses.
Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Marco Rubio of Florida said they are inclined to provide more aid to states, despite the president warning that he opposes giving more money to states that have been “mismanaged” by Democrats. “No doubt states have been hit pretty hard,” Mr. Graham told reporters

The moron gubbernors and mayors lost their tax revenue because they shut down the tax base. What did they think was going to happen? This doesn't even rise to the level of an unintended consequence. Any moron but a demorat gubbernor or mayor could see it coming.

Of course Graham and Rubio are all in with Pelosi and Schumer. Proving that with Mitchs help they can govern in a bipartisan manner. I’m sure at home they buy beer and pot for their kids too. Once an enabler always an enabler.

We don't want hand outs from Uncle Sugar. We wouldn't need them if we could open our businesses. Congress people that were too pussy to go to work should be fired with NO benefits and NO taxpayer retirement. As of today!

All they are doing is perpetuating the lockdown. No need to reopen if they get bailed out. We don't have money for this! This is our government in action. We are so screwed. This does not help us.
Reopen the nation! The lockdown is not sustainable. All our government is doing is digging a deeper hole.

Each state has its own ability to generate its own revenue for government purposes based on its own needs and its constituency. Why should the US Federal Government assist any State in dealing with the COVID fiasco. I think the PPP program is absurd, but it is politcally expedient. No more handouts. No more "stay at home by FIAT". No more infringement on personal liberty. No more hysterical models and no more yellow journalism. Ignore the media.
Learn for yourself. Be responsilble for yourself. And tell the "governor" to pound sand.
This is absurd. It has to end. Life and bad stuff go on.
Meet with your maker or whomever you want (as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord - I suggest you do too).and let us move on.
The world can not be controlled by the threat of bad stuff to come.
End of tyrade. This is a crock.

Rubio never got over the fact that Trump beat him like a drum. Grahmnesty, we learned, is all talk and no action but his days of working with McCain (and Kerry) trouble me. Bottom line, we should not pay for the pensions of corrupt union states (blue states) where people make over $100k in pensions and are double dipping. Mitch is correct that the need to go bankrupt and renegotiate the pensions with the unions. Bad decisions, bad deals don't mean people in other states have to pay for criminal stupidity.

Cops, nurses, doctors, ambulances, fire dept, and other first responders are still getting paid. It's a stupid argument for bailing out failed overspent cities and states. Are the republicans that stupid or are they all really RINOs?

Uniparty suck-ups can't help reaching across the aisle to pick up votes. We are not concerned so much with states who have lost tax revenue since January 2020 but those who have a long history of waste and mismanagement. We know who they are. No effort will be made to identify the difference.
