Republicans buck Trump, side
with Democrats on aid for
'mismanaged' cities, states

Original Article

President Trump is facing a growing rift with Senate Republicans who are siding with Democrats on the need to provide hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency aid for states and cities that have lost tax revenue during the coronavirus pandemic to pay for first responders and other basic expenses. Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Marco Rubio of Florida said they are inclined to provide more aid to states, despite the president warning that he opposes giving more money to states that have been “mismanaged” by Democrats. “No doubt states have been hit pretty hard,” Mr. Graham told reporters

Comments:

Essential government services is in the eye of the beholder, Mr. Rubio. Where would this nation be without patriots such as these?

The moron gubbernors and mayors lost their tax revenue because they shut down the tax base. What did they think was going to happen? This doesn't even rise to the level of an unintended consequence. Any moron but a demorat gubbernor or mayor could see it coming.

All they are doing is perpetuating the lockdown. No need to reopen if they get bailed out. We don't have money for this! This is our government in action. We are so screwed. This does not help us. Each state has its own ability to generate its own revenue for government purposes based on its own needs and its constituency. Why should the US Federal Government assist any State in dealing with the COVID fiasco. I think the PPP program is absurd, but it is politcally expedient. No more handouts. No more "stay at home by FIAT". No more infringement on personal liberty. No more hysterical models and no more yellow journalism. Ignore the media. Learn for yourself. Be responsilble for yourself. And tell the "governor" to pound sand. This is absurd. It has to end. Life and bad stuff go on. Meet with your maker or whomever you want (as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord - I suggest you do too).and let us move on. The world can not be controlled by the threat of bad stuff to come. End of tyrade. This is a crock.

Rubio never got over the fact that Trump beat him like a drum. Grahmnesty, we learned, is all talk and no action but his days of working with McCain (and Kerry) trouble me. Bottom line, we should not pay for the pensions of corrupt union states (blue states) where people make over $100k in pensions and are double dipping. Mitch is correct that the need to go bankrupt and renegotiate the pensions with the unions. Bad decisions, bad deals don't mean people in other states have to pay for criminal stupidity.

Uniparty suck-ups can't help reaching across the aisle to pick up votes. We are not concerned so much with states who have lost tax revenue since January 2020 but those who have a long history of waste and mismanagement. We know who they are. No effort will be made to identify the difference.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer confirmed her husband made “a failed attempt at humor” over the weekend after a comment he made to a docking company drew criticism from conservatives. In a now-deleted Facebook post, Tad Dowker, owner of NorthShore Dock LLC, said a man called the company a few days before Memorial Day weekend asking if he could put his boat in the water. According to Dowker’s post, when office staff said the company started working three weeks late so that was not going to happen, staff told him the caller said, “I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?”

As Governor Andrew Cuomo faced a spirited challenge in his bid to win New York’s 2018 Democratic primary, his political apparatus got a last-minute boost: a powerful healthcare industry group suddenly poured more than $1m into a Democratic committee backing his campaign. Less than two years after that flood of cash from the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), Cuomo signed legislation last month quietly shielding hospital and nursing home executives from the threat of lawsuits stemming from the coronavirus outbreak. The provision, inserted into an annual budget bill by Cuomo’s aides, created one of the nation’s most explicit immunity protections for healthcare

Coronavirus is so 'perfectly adapted' to infect humans that the possibility it was made in a Chinese lab can't be ignored, Australian vaccine researchers conclude. The vaccine expert warned the investigation into where COVID-19 started, as proposed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, was as a result urgently needed and should have begun months ago.(Snip) Furthermore, viruses tend to get better at infecting new species as they adapt over time, but COVID-19 started 'completely optimised
