Well said. This should be a must read. But I truly think it was not just media, it also included the democrat party. Look what the democrat governors are doing to their state's economy and extreme lockdown with no end in sight.

Good to know that I was thinking along the right lines all along. The media, the globalists and the leftists perpetrated the greatest con job on the world since Anthropogenic Global Warming/Climate Change. It was a giant concerted plan and they have been very successful after spending over a century classically conditioning of the public and making the masses more easily manipulated and controlled. I don't understand why we have allowed them to get so strong and influential but I hope this situation will become a revelation to many and we start taking our lives back.

Comparing the virus panic to the climate change alarmism seemed facile but the parallels continue to emerge. It turns out the virus panic was climate alarmism on 10x speed.
We're still acting on 'models,' we're still expected to treat experts as gods, governors as emperors, fatuous 'orders' as law, a virus as an existential threat to all of humanity instead of what it is: a seasonal bug targeting the most vulnerable.
Politicians and media have been feasting on the public's undivided attention. Society and commerce didn't shut down during WWII, they were focused on the war effort. Entities such as education that typically throw in with politicians and media will find that they've sacrificed much more than two idle months. They will have a gaping hole in their finances, they will find that their enrollment and tuition drop off perhaps never to return. Sports leagues succumbed to the 3rd grade shrieking - ridiculous considering the youth and top conditioning of athletes.
Ironically the media, whose news divisions sowed panic, will suffer greatly as entertainment productions and sporting events shut down giving them nothing to broadcast.

This has been an orchestrated scam by the Democrats and the media to destroy the Trump economy, and it has worked. I knew it was a scam when I saw Yahoo add an icon to the top of their menu entitled coronavirus in mid March. I thought we had turned back socialism for the first time. Now all that has been reversed and we have more socialism than ever before, including more spending than ever in history, and the highest degree of tyranny in the history of our republic. It hasn't only been Democrats and the media, it is also the large corporations that now have embraced more tyranny in their workplaces than is bearable by any free person. The left has succeeded in making life so miserable that it better to just stay in bed in the morning. Retail is going to have a hard time getting anybody back into their stores because they now have a shopping experience that makes people want to stay home and order online.

The media will not be held accountable. Unfortunately their 1st Amendment rights include the right to lie, obfuscate, and distort the truth with impunity. And fortunately they have far less ability to control the public than they had back in my parents day when whatever Walter Cronkite said must be true. I believe Trump got suckered into this by the political CDC with the help of the deep state bureaucracy. I hope he is starting to see the light.

Yes, #7. I checked the CDC website last night and the number was 37,308. They must have been forced to eliminate all of the “deaths with Covid19” and kept only the “deaths from Covid19”. We’ve all seen it - 85 years old, history of blood clots, killed by a stroke but tested positive for C19. Listed as having died from C19. Meanwhile, the number of flu/pneumonia related deaths is over 83,000.

Let’s not be so hard on ourselves. Experts proclaimed everyday the almost inescapable virility and morbidity of this pathogen. The media parroted as only they can the grave danger this virus presented to us. It was all we heard and we listened because we never conceived that anyone would ever use a pandemic for political purposes, but here we are several months down the road locked down, unemployed, financially strapped, with a lot of time on our hands to listen to those same experts and really think about what they are saying. We did research as best we could. We listened to other experts who were making a different case for handling this pandemic and as we listened we realized that something was not right here. There could be a different way to handle this crisis.
About this time the democrat governors and mayors around the country were continuing to make the most absurd and oppressive edicts. We were treated like children. The rules made no sense. They were capricious and annoying but the politicians were sure they knew better than the rest of us. Wear masks, don’t wear masks. Wear gloves, don’t wear gloves. Go outside, don’t go outside. We were all confused and it only got worse until the many of us figured it out. We were being played and it looked like the same devious harbingers of death and destruction had an agenda. Then that’s when the American people had had enough. They started making noise and protesting and for good reason. These arbitrary rules were devastating our families, the economy and most of all our freedom. Although this tyranny is not over by a long shot, Americans are waking up to the realization that a large swath of the population and especially the democrat party are totalitarians. We have seen them step on our necks because they seized the authority to do so, but by what right? Pushback is desperately needed. I am appalled by some in law enforcement who followed orders in direct opposition to the rights we enjoy under the Constitution. How could they hassle a teen on a paddle board all by himself, a mother on a playground, church goers who were gathered in their cars for a Sunday service, or a couple on the beach? How could this happen in America?
The experts we found out weren’t so expert. The media were dishonest when it was imperative that they be truthful with their facts. Numbers were skewed. Models were wrong. Americans were lied to, manipulated and oppressed. Now we know what some in our country are capable of and we will not go quietly and passively anymore. We will resist. This is not over by a long shot but we are awake and pushing back. Never for a moment believe that freedom will always be ours. It is fragile and must be defended and Americans are starting to fight back and we will win. We also will never go along with something like this again. They played us once, now it’s our turn to demand our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness be returned to us.

FTA - "The media has been hyping COVID-19 since Day One, alarming Americans to the point where they voluntarily went along with shutting down the entire economy — a mistake that will likely reverberate for a decade or more."
Another reason why the msm should have been boycotted and destroyed long ago. This time, Americans drank the cool aid en masse and will unfortunately now pay a painful financial price for being told what to think instead of learning how to think. In the People's Republic of Colorado, the Denver msm should be lined up and tarred and feathered immediately for inciting mass panic.
We should consider what this latest dose of socialism and accompanying group think has brought us - misery, unhappiness, financial distress, state control, and forced obeyance to a very evil deep state.
And all that was needed here was some common sense. Wash your hands, cover your mouth when you sneeze, stay home when you feel sick. This is all we had to do. But, we let the dims and msm exploit their TDS using this virus as cover in a last ditch effort to destroy the President and bring over 60 million American to their knees financially while expressing adoration for the Chicoms for causing the crisis.

Hospitals are empty and furloughing employees. It's no surprise that every patient they see gets diagnosed as a CV victim. THEY GET PAID MORE TO TREAT THEM! A lot more. And if they go on a ventilator, much..much.. more.
My point is, that the ridiculously low numbers, are skewed even more by dubious billing practices. I used to work on the business side of a hospital and the Chief of Staff, who was a Cardiologist, who also owned a Chili parlor chain, was convicted and actually went to jail. More specifically, he and his brother alternated the jailtime, so one could stay out and run the businesses. (how do you swing that BTW..another issue) They had other businesses. One was a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. Every visit a patient made to rehab after a surgery was billed as a heart procedure. And since the billing code was right, they were paid. A lot! Until they went to jail that is. Prescription drugs are another major issue in this area. Hydroxychloroquine has 'anecdotally' (great word) been shown to be north of 95% effective against the CV. It;s off patent however, and sells for peanuts compared to Redesivir which sells for $1000 a pill! Who advertises on all media again?
We are being scammed about 5 different ways.

Between the Stay-At-Home Nazis and the daily media body count, people are staying hunkered down. My business was just given “permission” to open back up, but a number of my clients are too afraid to come back. There seems to be some magic July date that they are waiting for, as if small businesses can just ride out the storm until the public feels comfortable. I am so angry at the perpetrators of this hysteria. People are absolutely wedded to their fear, which, I suppose, was the point all along. So many of us need to get back to work, and are ready to do just that, but are at a loss without customers.

If I was interested in a one world government based on socialism/communism, I would want to kill off anyone who had a memory or the clod war and the evils of communism. I would want to have the very young untouched to grow up under lock-downs and state control. I would want a generation of pleasure seeking compliant anti-nationalists to be largely unscathed. It's almost like manipulating a virus to selectively kill those who would be against a totalitarian one world government would be something that would be part of some larger plan.

If the CDC says it's 30,000 plus, that means the numbers are probably even less. They're slowly adjusting the numbers down to get to the real number without a more drastic drop. Let's not forget Republican governors went along with this too. And, the White House. We've opened Pandora's Box; now let's see what each side does with it. We gave them way too much time to come through this time; will people who fell for it this time, fall in line so easily the next time? How militant will they get, if they don't? Will governors who did the least to go along this time, not bother the next time and be brave enough to say so? How many businesses will refuse to shut down while government continues roaring on? It will be interesting.

I have been posting all along - - much to the chagrin and consternation of my fellow L-Dotters - - that Trump has sadly been a chump.
He not only swallowed the hysteria regarding the virus - - but even worse - - much worse - - he also bought into the leftist canard that only Big Government can save the economy. His approval of the bailouts, subsidies, and "stimuli" were misjudgments which will haunt us for decades. These were horrible blunders by a man who otherwise has been brilliant.
It is hard to believe that our wonderful President Trump has been such a fool - - but there you have it. The facts cannot be denied. We must still fervently support him politically - - but the bloom is off the rose. He did something monumentally stupid.

This was all done to harm President Trump the most hated man to the globalist. This is going to right itself but the results will be different on the other side of this and possibly for the good.
Scared people will stay scared and busy people will get busy and President Trump will get his revenge on the other side of this. The propaganda machine that is running 24/7 at full rpm is just a little too obvious. What other virus in history brought you daily pictures of the ugly little virus? What other virus brought you daily briefings that broke into normal programming like it was an imminent tornado approaching? Why the daily pictures of citizens obediently wearing useless little masks? Why are medical bureaucrats like Fauci and Birx allowed to shut down the country. I can see why everybody paid attention when the first batch of made-up raw data was presented but the semi-accurate accurate numbers we are seeing now do not justifify shutting down lemonade stands or puppet shows. At least we are going to get rid of some really bad governors but at what price? Coming on the heels of Russia-Russia and Ukrainegate and months before the most important election in our future is way beyond coincidence.

If only the media would pay the price for their lying and hyping of this flu. How could they pay a price? It is they who will report on this travesty. But they won't. It might, and I say it MIGHT be FOX, but any reporting by the media on what Fox might say will immediately be dismissed as partisan. No, the media will not pay the price.
But, they will switch on a dime when the truth about this overblown flu comes out and blame Trump. Just watch. He will be blamed for overreacting and shutting down the country and ruining people's lives and just in time for the election. Look how the Democrats lie and the media lie about Trump not acting soon enough. He was the only one that did and now they are saying he didn't. And they are making that into a drum beat.
What we truly have learned from this experience is how easily the masses can be duped and indoctrinated into giving up their liberty because they have been told to fear for their lives when no real threat exists for the majority. The big question is, where will we be a year from now?

Huge HOAX? No, you got it all wrong, Mr. Curl. Here's how it is:
The Chinese launched this virus like a Fu Manchu plot against the West, the yellow race to dominate a decimated world. The fellow-traveler globalists saw it was an avenue to reduce the surplus, unproductive population, and drive the rest to surrender to government control for their lives. So, the Chinese arranged to fly out thousands of infected individuals to the developed world to spread the virus before they announced it had been unleashed in Wuhan and beyond, leaving the streets lined with corpses and the smoke of cremations hanging over the countryside. The video was seen worldwide, the fear ignited.
American heath officials and statisticians used models run with numbers provided by the Chinese and WHO...all false...which led to grossly high, catastrophic mortality rates. They ran to the politicians, who recognized a crisis in the making, one not to be wasted. They could tie everything imaginable to it, especially if public hysteria could be induced. From shutdowns to spending TRILLIONS, government did its job. There was no stopping the juggernaut. We were at war! And everyone who went along was a patriotic and humanitarian HERO!
So, Americans "flattened the curve" by self-quarantine and masking, which blunted the projections, turning them back to more than reasonable proportions. But the people still demand protection from COVIDS...and here we are...and then there's the threat of a second wave, the real grim reaper's arrival, not to mention things like famine due to broken supply chains, unplanted crops, unmanned processing plants...
No, it's not the models that were wrong...but the American HEROES who blunted the initial threat. Yay, US!

I don't think the media and "experts" will pay for their hoax. When it comes to light that the death toll is far less than predicted they will proclaim "See, our extreme measures saved countless lives!" They will pat themselves on the back and prepare for the next power-grabbing emergency, using COVID-19 as their playbook.

I expect the media to go back to their usual play, when they know they're wrong. They'll double down on the "danger", and they know that deep staters at CDC will find enough "deaths" to prove they weren't wrong. CDC also has a vested interest in doing that. We see what's going on around us (how many Covid deaths do you know? I'm at 0), and their credibility, along with many federal agencies, are now shot.

Some nice points, but there are some simple questions to answer before we go off speculating:
1. What is the actual infection rate. This can be found by 5-10 controlled antibody experiments around the US. Why have these experiments not been done? They could even be done passively on blood donors. This information should be in the public domain.
2. There should be better transmission studies. The “models” we hear about in the news are not backed up with actual results or compared to known transmission results for other diseases.
3. Where are the studies in public policy across countries? Why is this information not put into the public domain before public policy decisions are made?
Well, until then, there is a very simple public policy model published at Info-Theory that has been so far accurate for the last month.
It is a bit depressing, but then again, it doesn’t assume facts not in evidence.

BTW, I doubt the current mask-wearing phenomenon will go on for the next 3-4 months. So by August, we should know by individual experience if we have grossly overreacted.
Of course, by then, we will be hearing that COVID is seasonal so the hysteria can go on through the election.
Anything political should be suspect out of an abundance of caution.

The news has become unwatchable. It is no longer news. It is being tailored to do three things:
- Scare people.
- Attack President Trump.
- Attack state level Republicans
It is propaganda.
The Democrats and their media sycophants engineered this. They used a pandemic to influence elections at all levels. They lined up 'experts' to predict doomsday. Most people fell for it. We're supposed to believe the experts after all. The amount of pressure put to bear on the general public and Republican law makers has been unprecedented. The result is everyone went along with stay at home orders and social distancing. What else could they do?
The only good news is time's on our side. The doomsday predictions were wrong, and people want to leave their homes and go back to work. What will the big government tyrants try next? Cancel elections? This is far from over. They are still trying to scare people.

There is no question that this has been a serious disease in the NYC metro area.
And "escaping" New Yorkers have spread this disease far and wide, too.
I am becoming more doubtful that much of the rest of the country, the low density "fly over" country needed to have the kind of things that do make sense in a tightly packed, commuter train dependent, subway dependent 'ant farm' like the NYC metro area.
My bet is that a common question of political candidtates will be "will you ever do this sort of lock down for a future disease?", and it will cost a candidate a lot of votes if the answer is anything but a clear "Never!".

Trish Regan got it right from the beginning: CCP virus is another attempt to remove President Trump. Globalists are unforgiving and Fox (Paul Ryan) fired Trish for telling the truth.
Science is the big loser here. It is just a bunch of augurs playing with models that predicted 2 million Americans dead. The Bill Gates models were as wrong as Al Gore’s. This is not scientific, they change them every day as they wish. All research except for Covid has been closed down at the NIH and all university campuses. No explanation for why the CCP virus has 4 insertions of HIV sequences in the receptor binding domain. Was this an AIDS vaccine attempt that acquired human to human transmission? Will CCP virus give immunity to AIDS? It seems science is a bunch of guys making adjustments to numbers and making vaccines that may not work since we never had a vaccine for colds. Even the flu vaccine is not so hot.
Many, if not most of the deaths on New York are from other causes, not Coronavirus. It is just that Medicare and Medicaid pay more for Corona death, especially with ventilator death machines. The death rates are a gigantic lie because many corpses have never been tested. Hospitals were not overrun, in fact they are deserted because no one wants to go into one. They never established Chinese virus only hospitals so the others could proceed normally. Cuomo sent convalescent Corona secreting patients into old peoples homes. After 2 months of no medical procedures thousands will die of cancer, stroke, arrhythmias, and other things went untreated a bit too long.
With the best beaches and State Parks, California Governor Newsom, Nancy Pelosi’s nephew, enforces no fresh air exposure. It is now Springtime, everything is in bloom and this virus is spent simply because sunshine eliminates it.
The Globalist Democrats, Marxists, Global Warmists, Googles, Facebooks, Microsofts, Rothschilds, Deep Staters, and Chinese Communist Party have given US a big November 3rd challenge. With freedom we shall overcome once again and make America great again again.
This sad episode is but a bad case of the Chinese flu.

Someone said that the cure to the Chinese Bio-war was to destroy the corporate headquarters of the three major networks. I am not sure that would work, but these are desperate times and we should seriously consider leveling at least 3 or more buildings, just to be sure. Seems like a small price to pay for the security of all Americans and it would be an inspiration to many.
Crazy, but not nearly as crazy as instantly making almost all Americans unemployed and forcing them to wear useless face masks.

If Trump had not moved on the virus, all we would hear is Trump is a murderer.
That word would stick with the idiot libs.
Ask Bush.

It’s the Y2K panic all over again, but this time you don’t end up with a generator. TN has had 10 times more deaths from the flu than the Chinese Virus. Killing the economy and placing free people under house arrest has failed to dramatically reduce the spread of the flu, so it’s reasonable to conclude that lock-down has been equally ineffective on Covid-19. We would have been right about here regardless.

Even the CDC cannot all agree on including 23,000 "presumption" of China virus deaths with no serology.
The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) website for the coronavirus lists the total deaths from COVID-19 – the disease caused by the virus – as 37,308 in the United States. That’s a much lower number than what has been reported in the media or by other coronavirus trackers. For example, the Johns Hopkins University coronavirus tracker, lists the number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. at 65,645.
Even more confusing, a separate CDC website – dedicated exclusively to the novel coronavirus – lists the total COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. as 64,283. The NCHS website was updated on May 1, while the CDC’s coronavirus-specific website says it was updated on May 2.
The discrepancy seems to be an issue of how the data relating to deaths was coded at the state level, that is, what the cause of death on a death certificate says. The NCHS website lists 37,308 total deaths from death certificates listing COVID-19 as the cause, which includes COVID-19 as the presumed cause of death. The CDC gives some explanation why the NCHS data may be different from other reported numbers (emphasis original).

Now that efforts to suppress the virus are successful people are saying it was never a danger. It's stupid. It was spreading at a rate of 35% a day in March. If you don't realize that's a danger you're a fool.
Conservatives have not covered themselves with glory here.

I'm wondering if the demographics of who died from this virus will ever be made public. It appears that if one was in a nursing home, it was a death sentence. Just in my county, there are about 130 cases of coronavirus, and more than 90 of those cases are people in nursing homes.

#6, I'm beyond pep rallies begging for elected officials to grant us our rights. Businesses ahould unite and agree to open, and citizens should unite and agree to patronize them. On limited funds, but I will be the first in line to get a haircut. Come arrest me, I dare ya!
#26, just shows how deep the Deep State goes... hopefully Trump gets re-elected and can continue to clear out with a large machete.
#46, if it would save one life...
The most appalling thing to me-- I know I shouldn't be shocked but yet I continue to be-- is the blatant war on free speech. I posted stats for average flu deaths vs Covid deaths for Ohio counties on a local FB page and nearly got lynched: 'irresponsible,' 'dangerous' for posting 'misleading' date, info should be removed immediately, yadda, yardage, yadda. What a nasty bunch! But now I know who some of the petty tyrants are in my corner of the world.

All orchestrated to:
1) Kill the economy;
2) Kill off the old people who aren't worth anything anymore except to suck resources (demonrat words);
3) Kill off President Trump from getting reelected;
4) Kill off the Bill of Rights;
5) Etc.
