Mayor de Blasio of New York City recently tweeted what has become a controversial tweet. After hearing of a large gathering of Chasidic Jews in Brooklyn attending a funeral for a well known neighborhood rabbi, de Blasio tweeted: "My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups." (snip) I would wager my last subway token that he would never publicly tweet against the Muslim, Hispanic, or black community in the general terms he did just now

You can't govern a diverse community if your personal agenda, and your hatred of the President, is your compass. It's a guarantee for disaster, which is what the de Blasio administration is. By the way, when he wanted to change, why did he pick such a goofy personal name?

I must respectfully disagree with the Rabbi. I think the mayor is anti-Semitic, anti-Catholic and anti-conservative Protestant. I think he looks down on anyone who takes their faith seriously but he would never say anything bad about muslims since that would be racist. It's a strange world we are living in.

#1 “The Jews” don’t vote Democrat. Some Jewish people do. Most Orthodox Jews, such as myself, vote Republican.
Your brush is the same breadth as Herr Wilhelm’s brush; different color. Just as racist.
To answer the question of “why do so many non-orthodox Jews vote Democrat? Well they are generally secular, over educated, and live in large urban areas in the NE. They vote just like their secular, over-educated, and urban gentile neighbors. Waiting here for the weekly article about Anglican voting habits.
As an aside, what is with this fascination with 1.7% of the electorate? If every Jewish person voted Republican for the last twenty years, with the exception of some local Florida elections, the results would be the same.

#7, you are oversimplifying things a bit. And, by the way, I don't think it is racist to ask questions like these. It is perplexing, to say the least. Why do Anglo-Saxon gentiles vote Democrat? Same reason as New York Jews do. They hate themselves.

How bad does a mayor of New York City have to be before the people throw him out? I guess a better question would be, why do they put such an ignorant doofus into office in the first place?

Excellent retort, #7. The Jews take it on the chin but ALL New Yorkers are responsible for people like Bloomberg and de Blasio. Right now it's a miserable place to live but it took a long time and millions of votes to get that way.

As strange as it seems, NYC elected Bill de Blasio twice; was it because they didn't get enough of him the first time? Brooklyn had him for 8 years. Then he was public advocate in NYC for 3 or 4 years? Although he managed Charlie Rangel's campaign and that of someone named Hillary Clinton, I do not recall any office they were elected to.

I can never understand why anyone votes democrat . Politics has always been a dirty business The dems make no bones about wanting to enslave people. Who would vote for that? I am Jewish and had friends that are dems. I couldnt deal with it.

Somehow we got off topic here!
The article is not about "why do Jewish people vote Democrat". Jeez. Why do most blacks vote that way too? I know many Irish and Italians who would rather cut off their hands than support a Republican. There are thousands of reasons why people "do" anything and everything they do.
No --- This article is about the huge insult Mayor de Blowhard leveled at a religious group using harsh language and a vile attitude he would never, ever use against Muslims, Hindus, Hispanics, etc. That's the point.
Then the article ends by pointing out His Royal Highness handed out free meals to 500,000 NYC Muslims celebrating Rama-dama-ding-don. Which cost $10 million, including delivery! How many masks & gloves would that buy, huh?
I must have missed my free Easter basket because he closed the churches!

I’m shocked ... SHOCKED ... by your racist comment, #7. The “secular, over-educated” jews vote just like the filthy urban gentiles. Whoopsie ... your intense satisfaction, sanctimony and arrogance in feeling justified to jump on other commenters allowed your hatred of gentiles to slip out. Gotta keep that in-house. Better luck next time. L’chaim.

You're right #17, this article is not about "why do Jewish people vote Democrat". However, the question itself is virtually inescapable after reading an article like this.

#18 - Uncalled for comment and out-of-bounds misquoting by adding words not posted.
#7 made a valid point. Although there are many threads where Catholic and Protestant conservatives lament and question why our coreligionists continue to vote for the obvious evil represented by the Democrat Party, there is a universal questioning of all Jews because some of them vote Democrat. The failure of people to use their religious values as guideposts for voting is not exclusive to the Jewish community. Catholics vote for Pelosi and claim to be "pro-choice" even when they abhor abortion. Perhaps its because our culture has widely accepted the Left's distorted "separation of church and state" and our people suffer from a subliminal limitation that it is somehow wrong for them to use their faith's teachings when making political choices. As well, the wholesale societal abandonment of religion and proven moral values doesn't help.
#17 guides us back to the subject at hand. The mayor of NYC has no problem personally rushing to the scene and denouncing the funeral for a beloved religious leader solely because the religion is Judaism, while at the same time using everyone's tax money to feed the Muslims during their special holiday. Poster also notes there were no such accommodations for either the Jews at Passover or Christians at Easter. On the contrary, our houses of worship were and continue to be closed.
I hope the US Attorney for New York is preparing legal briefs right now. AG Barr has ordered a review of state and local "guidelines" as to Constitutionality. If it is so important that Jews and Christians have their religious freedom restricted, then our Muslim citizens should also. The exception proves the rule is un-American and un-Constitutional, as well as capricious in its execution. A real world consequence when power mad politicians start to "tinker" with the Constitution.

Why does ANYBODY vote Democrat?
Why did ANYBODY vote for wilhelm jr.?
Why did ANYBODY vote for Cuomo?
Why did ANYBODY vote for the hildebeast?
#8 says it’s because they hate themselves
I’d add that they hate their country too
And they’re politically ignorant
Ignorant of the lies and crimes and conniving thievery and propaganda of the radical left
Dummy down the population
It seems to work for them
Don’t rely on the GOP to mount an offensive
They’ve got their own problems
And our beleaguered President is battling these demons every day..these ignorant electorate and these conniving ‘rats
What a hell of a time in History!

Large groups who are not practicing social distancing, which include many without masks, are trying to kill us. Why is the Mayor being slammed for trying to protect citizens of the United States????

#23 the NYPD disagreed people were in danger with this rather forceful response:
“The grand rabbi from Williamsburg passed away. The community followed all guidance & wore masks. The Shomrim was there giving out masks if they saw somebody on the street with out a mask. They did an excellent job. The only issue is your incompetent and targeted people of faith.”

Why does anyone ever vote for Democrats whose main goal is to control peoples' money, their places of worship, their dietary practices, their schooling, etc.???As for Jews voting for Democrats, they are mostly secular Jews as one of the above comments says; it is the same reason some Catholics vote for Democrats - it's their family tradition which is stronger than their faith.
Democrats [and I am referring to the party and it's goals] care little for individual citizens, only for groups which they woo with government money and favors.
