There is a pivotal scene in the 2017 movie Darkest Hour about an event that had a major impact on Winston Churchill’s success as prime minister, and it is a must-see for currently beleaguered Americans. In it, Mr. Churchill is besieged by calls from the elite ruling class to negotiate with the Nazis. Most of the British army is trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk and defeat is all but assured. He finds himself locked in an agonizing battle between his gut and the establishment experts in his war cabinet.

OP has stated my reaction. Time for a Trump rally, open the country and let the 'experts' go back to their jobs.

President Trump has been exhibiting signs of "Stockholm Syndrome" and Jimmy Carter's "America Held Hostage. It is very disturbing. I'm praying he gets away from the medical bureaucrats and the Kushner's- soon! Give the American people credit for common sense and freedom and we'll get this job done.

Well, Mr. President, you did it to yourself with this overblown, idiotic reaction, and YOU can stop the madness at any time.

Actually #1, I'd FIRE the experts! I don't trust any of them anymore.
I know he can't fire them but my guess is that he would like to...

That was a very good movie about a great man, who literally saved the world from Hitler during WW2. I loved the part where he told King George that he couldn’t meet him at a certain time because that was his nap time.

#2 He has a tremendous pressure from all sides. He knows about Fauci and Birx but cannot make it public or fire them right now. He has to stop the damage the media has created. He has to start the economy again. The list is endless. He knows damn if you do and damn if you don't. He needs to change the format of the briefings bringing different administration officials working on all of this to the podium to say what they are doing. After that, say thanks and leave the room - all of them. No questions allowed from the rattle snakes.

#3, I disagree with you big time. Donald Trump did not shut down the state economies. The governors did and your negativity is not appreciated around here. Democrats, liberals, and anti-Trumpers want to blame this on Donald Trump but I have a different take on it and it clashes with your thoughts and opinions. Donald Trump put the ban in place on January 31 and governors of states did nothing. Now they want total control of opening up the state economies. They can't have it both ways and neither can you.

Well, #8, I disagree with your take entirely, but you don't see me trying to run you off from this forum. Plus, I didn't say anything about Trump "shutting down the economy," now did I? I said he overacted in an idiotic way.
As for my "negativity around here," if you don't like my posts, don't read them. It's still a free country from where I sit, and, thank God, you're whining doesn't change that.

With the exception of a quick trip to Norfolk to send off the hospital ship to NYC, I don't think Pres Trump has been out of the White House for at least six to eight weeks,
Unlike the previous resident, Emperor Obama the First, who would have had three vacations, a foreign state visit, and thirteen rounds of golf in the same period.

I like American Thinker and American Greatness. I like their writers and the idea that they are proud to use "American" in their title, and I agree with the author. If the President has a rally, it will do a lot toward making some people less afraid; continuing to introduce American and worldwide scientists - other than the expert three - to give us first-hand information on how this virus is similar and different than others and how we can manage it on our own. Also, the President would advise those who want to come, to use caution if they are vulnerable, and suggest they might want to watch at home and also tell us all how we can do that. Maybe, always on C-span. (A lot of us are not as sophisticated as others.)
It's despicable that practically all those who tell us to stay in place are employed by the government and continue to receive a pay check.
