What are we doing, America? We've destroyed a booming economy, turned a record number of jobs into record unemployment numbers, and given up our basic tenets of liberty — all so we won't get sick? We're allowing governors to restrict people's movement; prevent citizens from assembling; and order mandatory masks, testing, and vaccines. These governors now claim the right to track our every move, to surveil every American in order to ensure compliancThis shutdown is not just a slippery slope to socialism and communism; it's a downhill slalom. How did we get here? Americans aren't cowards who would eagerly surrender liberty for immunity.

From the polls I've seen the majority of Americans are all in on the social distancing guidelines. If Americans are not cowards they are on the slippery slope to cowardism. One would think that at some point people who say, "This is not living." My only hope is that people think the shutdown will end soon and they can sacrifice just this little bit. There is no guarantee of that.

Trump could overrule these Governor's at any time... Waiting. The economy was destroyed in less than 4 weeks and people still think that this is OK???

I'm guessing most laid of gubmint types - clerical, teachers, etc. - are still getting paid. So it's just a prolonged Spring break. Have not heard otherwise.

I'm with you Peggy! And have been from the start. I go out as much as I can and refuse to wear a mask unless I'm going to be in a store with narrow aisles. I resent the lose of my freedom. I made it to 87 without all this excessive protection, through all the childhood diseases prevalent in the 40s, and I think I know how to take care of myself even though I'm supposedly in the ready to die group.

It is troubling to see how many are so anxious to not only give up their rights, but to give up the rights of others as well. So many died trying to secure those rights, and to have them so easily taken away makes their sacrifices for nothing.
Decades ago a friend said she didn't mind giving the cops permission to search her car because she had nothing to hide. I tried not to go into a tirade, but somewhere along the road we lost our way. No American should ever allow a search without a warrant, nor should they waive any other right. The government is not your friend, and the cops are the enforcement arm of the government.

A lawsuit has been filed in federal court in California on behalf of small business owners. We need to see more of these.

Marxist Communist democrats trying to rule like dictators is because they need this practice exercise to find out which of their leadership actual have the ability to be a dictator. Those who don't come up to the elite leadership of deep state One World Government desired standards will be replaced before they take total control of America's government.

There are 2 kinds, at least, of cowardice here. One is assuming that the virus would not have been much more severe just because it hasn't proven to be thus far, UNDER THE GUIDELINES. The second is assuming that the economy won't recover. Whenever someone tries to scare people, look for a problem with what they are saying. There is FAR too little known about our future to whip it up. As the saints always tell us, whatever happens, remain calm. That way, you can really think, American Thinker.

There are still half of American 'maskers' who would stay in this ruinatious mode forever that's why Bernie Sanders was so successful until he sold out to 'the man'. This is pathetic. I was doing social separation long before this it's not new.

First and foremost I support President Trump and will vote for him in the next election no matter which democrat communist wanna be dictator is running, however he needs to admit that listening to the horrendously wrong advice of deep state democrat Trump haters like that little gloomy dwarf, Fauci and that bad teeth, scarf wearing Obama appointee Brix has turned out to be a massive mistake. We all make mistakes but Mr. President you need to fire both of these pathetic excuses for doctors. drop the nonsensical phased opening plan, and immediately throw wide open our country to start recovering from the utter devastation and havoc imposed, unconstitutionally by the way, on our country.
Better to spend money on sequestering and protecting the most vulnerable, if they agree as it is their personal choice, than having to pay people not to work. Stupid. This is a potentially mortal self inflicted wound to our country.
I urge you to act immediately Mr. President to remove all restrictions. No matter what you do the America hating communist propaganda media and communist democrats will blame you either way for any more deaths or the Great Depression in the making caused by the illegal lock down of our Republic.
Please act today to free our country and restore our God given liberties. We Americans can take care of ourselves without the assistance of government.
Take heed of the rising tide of civil disobedience across the country. A storm of epic proportions is coming if we do not regain our liberties.

Of the 340 million people in the US there are at least 40 million that would gladly get on a train to the corona virus free protection zone.
For me, in the words of Washington,
I would rather die standing in the battle than on my knees.

People better take a close look at what's happened in Venezuela and before that, Argentina, and before that, Weimar Republic, Germany, and before that, Czarist Russia. In bad times things can happen quickly and before you know it you've lost all your freedoms.

I can't do anything about all the business closures, but I refuse to act like one of the sheep. I will continue to shop as usual, without a mask or gloves, and not deliberately avoiding being close to others. If restaurants were open, I would still go out occasionally as always. I haven't and will not kowtow to these stupid rules(?) others want to chain me to. So sue me!

Half of the country is made up of sheep but unfortunately the sheep need to compensate for their lack of courage and seek positions of power in disproportionate numbers. The rest of us just want to be left alone but we are not permitted that luxury with these doofuses having "legal" authority. We are in this position now and can easily correct it but it will take more than voting idiots out of office and protesting. When we have been pushed too far, they will be the first to know it.

"Destroyed"??....little or nothing has been destroyed. Delayed, dampened, put on hold, held back, shut down, diverted, temporarily shifted, sure. And lots of money hasn't been made that otherwise would have been made. But nobody bombed our factories, no roads or bridges were destroyed, we were NOT physically attacked. We NOW have 100% of all the capabilities we had before this mess started.
This is America, we WILL be back. We WILL recover and it will be relatively quickly, too. I am absolutely convinced of it.
I took cash equal to a year's gross salary before I retired and invested it in several companies by buying their stocks, to help them with equity financing while they are down. I am absolutely convinced that we will be back, quickly and with a lot of strength. I am putting low six figures of $$ where my mouth is.
Negative, whiney, "woe is me" talk is cheap. I BELIEVE in this country. I BELIEVE in Americans. I'm investing in America.
