Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the U.S. may “never return” to funding the World Health Organization because of the way it operates, including the COVID-19 crisis. And, in a second demand, Mr. Pompeo told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham Wednesday night that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom may have to step down before Washington restarts suspended contributions of nearly $1 billion of WHO’s 2.4 billion annual budget.(Snip) President Trump cut off funds after what the administration believes were a series of WHO actions that dovetailed with communist China misleading the world on the spread of coronavirus in the city of Wuhan and elsewhere

Comments:

May never? Restoration of funding should not be under consideration at all. Get us out the UN also. Where are the UN condemnations of China's games? The world's populace hides in their homes with no end in sight and with dwindling savings and incomes because of the virus they unleashed.

Been said so many times before: US out of UN and UN out of US. Sent it to some 3rd world s-hole they claim to want to help. All of the global institutions are anti-America but they wouldn't exist without our largesse.

It's a start. More than previous presidents have ever been willing to try. Maybe the Fed agencies should have their budgets trimmed as well, depending on how many private donors have been contributing to them. Not to mention the Fauci affiliated agency that gave millions to the Wuhan lab. $3.7million IIRC. Things like this need to be addressed.

Why the threats and the continuation of this discussion? Cut the money off. WHO has done nothing for us, and never will do anything, and will just take the money, then stab us in the back, not even a thank you. Fools that give people money never are thanked.

Congress please send the voters a list of all the foreign places our tax money (haha just print it all) goes to. Let me check boxes for the ones I approve of and as for the others, including the ones I've never heard of, let my congressperson AKA Sheila Moron Lee explain to me what they are. She voted for it so she must know what's in it.

We're broke, and we have to help Americans who have been out of work due to no fault of their own. Cease all aid to everyone and every agency outside the US. USAID can stop giving our money away too; that aid is now needed to re-develop America. Let's stop helping others for a while; let them try helping themselves. If you want to be a WHO, figure out how to fund yourselves. If what you want is to do good for the world, do it on your own do-gooder dime. Don't ask for handouts! Make it work! Get a side job.

Washington—President Donald Trump said Friday that he won’t approve a $10 billion loan for the U.S. Postal Service unless the agency raises charges for Amazon and other big shippers to four to five times current rates. “The Postal Service is a joke because they’re handing out packages for Amazon and other internet companies and every time they bring a package, they lose money on it,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. The president was responding to a question about reports his administration plans to force major changes in postal operations as the price for approving a $10 billion loan that was included in the government’s $2 trillion economic rescue package.

A 1993 clip has emerged of the mother of Vice President Joe Biden's sexual assault accuser speaking to CNN's Larry King about her daughter's alleged assault. The video appears to back former Biden staffer Tara Reade's claims that she told her mother about the harassment related to her boss 27 years ago. Reade filed an official criminal complaint against the now presumptive Democratic presidential frontrunner on April 9, accusing Biden of shoving his hand under her skirt and penetrating her with his fingers while they stood in a senate corridor, an accusation he denied. The latest evidence to emerge shows Reade's mother Jeanette Altimus calling

A Fortune 500 auto company worth $3billion received nearly $95million in federal small-business funds, almost double the amount of any company that received money through the Paycheck Protection Program. The $95million received by AutoNation is said to have been spread among dozens of their more than 300 locations and intended to use the funds to help employees. Funds for PPP ran out last week, with thousands of small businesses left without a dime. AutoNation Executive Vice President Marc Cannon said that the company's board voted on Thursday to return the funds, the Washington Post reports.(Snip) More than 81 locations received loan money,

The feds granted a trio of news outlets millions of dollars in small-business rescue loans as the coronavirus crisis battered the media industry. The Seattle Times, the Tampa Bay Times and political news website Axios received multimillion-dollar, government-backed loans through the $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program, which aims to help small businesses retain jobs amid the pandemic. The Seattle Times Co. got $9.9 million that will reportedly help its eponymous newspaper avoid laying off workers and cutting hours during the crisis, according to company president and chief financial officer Alan Fisco. “This is a lifeline for us for the next 60 days,”

Hotels, luxury resorts and management companies that funnel money back to a single company have secured about $53 million in federal virus aid, the largest known amount to benefit one firm and the latest example of how the government’s small business relief program is also helping big companies. Ashford Inc., an asset management firm based in Dallas, makes money partly by advising two real estate investment trusts: Ashford Hospitality Trust and Braemar Hotels & Resorts, which together own more than 100 properties. Those companies reported in public filings that their hotels had received millions in forgivable loans through a government program meant to help small businesses.

Earlier this week, Fox News’ Brit Hume suggested it’s time we consider lockdown policy as possibly being “a colossal public policy calamity.” Speaking to Shannon Bream on Fox airwaves Tuesday night, Hume discussed the disastrous side effects of stay-at-home orders adopted by nearly every state in the union, highlighting the irreparable harm done to the folks’ livelihood and savings, and the social toll the isolation has caused, particularly for children, who are at extremely low risk for novel coronavirus. To boot, emphasized Hume, it’s unclear how effective lockdown policies have actually been, especially when compared to other, more sustainable mitigation strategies.
